Not the best choice for a JAPAN song. Listen to their song "Ghosts" and you will change your mind about the singer. David Sylvian is still one of the most artistical & creative guys in pop - and one of the most interesting singers (and songwriters). Duran Duran copied their style.
@@MrCollinspm His solo work is also more than worth mentioning. His song "Orpheus" and the accompanying album "Secrets of the Beehive" are still some of best music I have ever heard.
Japan was sort of forerunner of that movement, earlier than say Duran Duran. This single only plus the album "Quiet Life" were the turning points for Japan, finding their style after couple of albums. Nowadays it is impossible to think that a band would have three albums' worth of time to develop their sound. Unfortunately the band broke up after two albums more to internal tensions. David Sylvian created a remarkable solo career, "Forbidden Colours" probably the best known song from it. Perhaps you should listen & react to "Blue Of Noon", it is an instrumental piece with no vocals at all since David Sylvian only composed & produced it ! 😉
I recommend a band called Love and Money from Scotland, late 80s. Their sound is a mix of soul and indie rock. Jocelyn Square is a great tune, Strange Kind of Love another. Looking at lots you have reacted to, i think you'd really enjoy them.
One of my favourites from the 80s. A purely nostalgia thing for me. I like the little synth touches which give it a slight eerie/dreamy feel at times. Big In Japan was a song by another band called Alphaville.
Not for me.
compared to the original, this sucks
Japan, yay! My very least favorite song by them , but still, yay Japan,
I was too busy looking at that dudes hair....
Not really feeling it
😁😁😁😃

Couldn't agree more. Or Quiet Life.

“Big In Japan” was a song by the German band Alphaville 😉
I find the vocal and instrumental too close to same tone .
This one left me cold. 🤷🏻♀️
Sacrilege!
Not one of their efforts- they have other songs that are better

Theres a song called that but theres also a band by that nane. They were English
Don't get me wrong; I love Boy Georges music, but this song was really gay.
Japan are an amazing band and this would have to be the worst choice to showcase them.
