Bb Cc Actully that is true. My late father was actually in that battle... The marines were in retreat and used dead bodies as sandbags... It was also very cold during that battle..
It definitely happened at Chosin Reservoir. One source I know of for sure is the book Gunners Glory, which is a collection of biographies and autobiographies of Marine machine gunners who won the Medal of Honor, telling the stories of the battles in which they earned those medals.
Ground troops in medieval battle would use chain mail at best, not heavy plate armor for horseback .Wouldn't the knights assume that the guns were the work of Satan and retreat?
I would have melted %30 of the knights armors and turn them into gattling guns and kill these scoundrels without a big effort But you know how the knights think they actually dont think they just act like what we see in this video.
Now you need to create an interesting backstory for each individual soldier and knight in this scene and develop their character so that we can relate to them and care about whether they fail or succeed, live or die. Also, have one of them narrate the story in Morgan Freeman's voice.
Interesting. The US troops would have opened fire when the knights were within 300-500 yards. It is doubtful they would have ever gotten that close to the US formation.
This is for fantasy purposes right, like imagining a fight between Superman and Goku (which I totally support). Cause realistically, this makes no sense. There is no way the WW2 soldiers would have enough bullets to maintain this fight for that long. And the ones in the back wouldn't' even be able to fire anyways. Plus they would have to reload while any non-gun weapon can keep on swinging.
If you wanted to make it realistic... American soldiers would've called in artillery and air support. Also, probably would have had .30 cal positions dug in, grenades, tanks, mounted machine guns... And 90% more than likely never let them get that close.
If you break this down it equates to 1 soldier having to kill at least 6 knights in order for them to win. This is heavily in favor of the soldiers considering they can fire hundreds of rounds per minute with separation and the knights are all melee.
I don't know how well the simulator lets you move troops around, but I wouldn't leave the US Army troops in the open field like that, I'd march them around to flank the knights on both sides, pincer them off and maintain gun range to avoid closing. Their firing angles would work a lot better if they enfiladed the entire mass of knights and concentrated all the flying metal inward on them. Also.... What happens if they run out of ammo? Does this simulator take ammo supply into account?
Also think it doesn't take human reactions into account... at some point real soldiers would begin to realize they're just wasting their time trying to charge guns with sword in hand and consider going the other way or trying a ruse. Massed charges against a superior armed foe are really the worst tactic there is.
2000 dinosaurs VS 200000000000000000 ants, 1 archer vs 5000000000 blind people, the earth vs the universe, robocop vs donal trump, batman vs minibatman, rambo vs commando, T2 vs DeepBlue, wild mutant ninja turtles vs chinese brothel btches circle
How about something a little more even. WW2 us soldiers vs civil war era confederate soldiers. Or to even out the odds make it possible for the US soldiers to run out of ammo forcing them to fight hand to hand against the knights.
They must be using Hollywood Thomsons: they never jam and never run out of ammo. Meanwhile, the knights change blindly ahead and never try to flank the soldiers.
In reality the knights would overrun those soldiers by encircling them. The other point is that the soldiers in the middle of their group of 10,000 can not fire over their comrades to hit the incoming knights on the front line lol
It is quite humorous to watch. Im sure it has been mentioned, but the US soldiers would have run out of ammo quickly, the knights were trained in hand to hand, the US soldiers would have broke and ran lacking armour and swords.
Cheese this simulator needs some work. Why do the troops have infinite ammo? How is it the soldiers in the back able to not shoot the soldiers in the front; are they on elevated land?
Strange they call it a simulator, when they can just fire through each other's heads, and never reload, and seemingly penetrate steel armor easily every round.
Wrong on so many levels. First, assuming you could even field 60,000 heavy knights, these guys aren't acting like knights...they're acting like mindless robots. This kind of carnage, a significant number of the so called "knights" would turn around and walk away. The "knights" in the rear would not be able to climb a steel wall of dead and dying men (if they were even moved to try)...the closest thing to reality you have here is that at least some of the "knights" attempt to flank the soldiers. Next, as is obvious, only about 10 to 15% of the "soldiers" would even be able to fire without shooting down their own men. Next, just because an armored man might be wounded, it is not likely they would instantly drop dead...a wounded man can still kill you. (By the way, you don't have to reload a sword...you do have to pause now and then to change a magazine.) You're giving the "soldiers" unlimited ammunition. A WWII soldier armed with a Thompson would carry 4 to 6 20 round magazines...when they were expended, you would have to move your front line back (because they would essentially be unarmed and unarmored meat sacks at that point) and move the guys in the back forward...so they could empty their ammo. 10,000 infantry carrying let's say 120 rounds of ammo (6 20 round magazines) would have to hit those 60,000 "knights" at least 50% of the time...but a Thompson isn't that accurate. The formations are absurd...blocks of machine gunners? Why are you showing this? Why am I commenting on this? hmm...never mind.
There's a very big fault to this simulation is that the US Soldiers have a limited amount of rounds... So, in reality the Knights would hear all the gun fire stop simultaneously and look at each other and know they've got them... The sword keeps swinging as long as the Knight stays alive to swing it...
10,000 soldiers with thompson submachine guns. Assume two twenty round magazines per man. That is 400,000 rounds total. Assume 5 shot needed to kill one man due to armor, misses, hits from multiple shoots, ect. 400,000 rounds is enough to kill 80,000. They faced 60,000. Only the first 2 lines can fire so roman army tactics of fight then retire back into the line would be needed. They would need to train to cover their buddies during reloads. Interesting battle.
there is no accuracy or whatever it should be called... the soilder standing behind a line of 40-50 soldiers can still shoot magically on the air which goes on to strike a first knight in the offense line. needs some work to feel a bit realistic...
this is what I called "A turkey shooting" ... * plays "Shoot to thrill" - ACDC * * few minutes later plays "Warriors of the world" ... then "Kingdom Come" - Manowar *
I was a small child when the ww 2 people were around. And I can tell you the odds could of been 100 times worse than anything in this demo. The ww 2 people were just unstoppable.
lol, any battle I see with U.S. soldiers I always hear "B.S! The other side would have archers! They would encircle them! They have infinite ammo! They aren't reloading! Totally inaccurate!" Yeah, what about shoot and run, tanks, artillery, air-support, land mines, grenades, and so much more. Watch the game and enjoy.
That’s a lot of scrap metal. I figure 3.6 million pounds of steel (avg 60 lbs. per knight) at $.06/lb. = $216,000 US soldiers fires off 500 rounds of ammunition per soldier on average , that’s 5 million total rounds. Each bullet contains roughly 1/3 oz of copper, so that equals roughly 100,000 lbs. of copper. At $2.75/lb. = $275,000 Nearly a 1/2 million....Let’s get scrappin’ boys!
Hell of a mess to clean up! Enough lead, and gunpowder used in that battle to have won every war since the invention of the black powder rifle. I can't understand with that much lead being used, and the amount of rounds going through the barrels!of the rifles, why there wasnt any jamming, misfires, and backups? Not to mention barbells overheating. Plus any Leader that would sacrifice 100% of his warrior/soldiers in he battle would have to be pretty stupid...in fact all of these battles are predetermined before they are fought.
Actually, this is an excellent (though unintended) depiction of the effects of indirect fire from machine guns. In WW1, machine guns were usually part of the artillery in the early part of the war. They had elaborate indirect fire sights, and on a steady tripod could fire several miles. If one side had intel about enemy troops movements near the front, or there was visual evidence of reserves coming up to bolster and attack, MG's could be sighted along a line, elevated to the right point, and just let loose. Being water-cooled (which was replaced as they use it, they could be fired continuously until the barrel or lock wore out, and then quickly put into action. They are many accounts during the war of second or third echelon troops getting hammered by fire that appeared out of nowhere.
Steve B Oh....I don't know...maybe it's the fact that they are making nukes for the use of destroying America and our allies??? They have came out and flat out said that they will unite Korea and destroy America and anyone who oppose them lol 😂 they are just asking for an ass whopping
This is a believable fight. The soldiers would have needed time to reload unless you want to tell me all 10,000 had magical unlimited chambers. Also soldiers in the back and center would not have been able to fight their rifles, less they accidentally fire on their own troops.
Couple problems, First the Soldiers would not all have the same weapon, Second a unit that large would have artillery support and armor, Lastly wouldn't the knights be on horses?
Richard Russell that isn't true, most US Troops weren't armed with M1s.Most troops at the outbreak of the war were issued either M1903 Springfield or 1917 American Enfield rifles
The American military would not deploy in such a fashion. It would really limit the use of their firepower. The battle of Agincourt was similar to the game layout. The English longbows took the day.
This game looks great, and I love the concept of matching up armies from across space, time, and various fictional universes. However, the actions of the armies in this scenario are utterly unrealistic. The knights would quickly stop charging the soldiers once they saw the level of carnage the soldiers' guns were doing. Also, World War 2 soldiers would never have been standing in a big rectangular formation shooting through each other at the enemy. They would have dug in with a network of foxholes and entrenchments with mutually supporting fields of fire. They would also have had many other weapons in addition to their guns: artillery, hand grenades and mines, to name a few.
Cheap simulation and unrealistic. In a block formation like that only the first few rows of WW2 soldiers have an open field of fire, everyone else is relegated to aiming at the back of their buddies heads. Also in real life rifles tend to need reloading from time to time. Now at a distance the WW2 soldiers have a certain advantage, though not as much as you think as the plate armor and shields are pretty effective defense, but once the knights are in close combat range it's all over, the soldiers have no armor and at best bayonets
Firstly the soldiers never have to reload ( not at all realistic to have unlimited ammo). Secondly every soldier has a clear line of sight to keep shooting ( also not realistic) and thirdly it seems that the front line of attackers may not be blocking shots to lines behind. The reload issue would definitely allow some attackers to reach the front lines in my opinion with such numbers
In real life the WW2 soldiers wouldn't just stand in a huge square formation like morons and would be spread out and deployed artillery and/or tanks. Before attacking with ground forces they'd also have bombers drop a few bombs.
Doesn't work when the other side has the same armor and guns...imbecile. Remember the Mexican American war? Historians say it was a VERY costly American victory. Mexico utilized biological warfare which forced American troops into infected areas of Mexico. That tactic costed the U.S Military over 13,200 troops (dead). Then Mexico's Army directly shot and killed 1,733 invading American troops, and severely injured another 4,152 with canon fire shrapnel and musket volleys. Mexico is a militarized native american empire. The Aztec Empire with muskets and modern military forces. Also considered a regretted decision by congress. And back then, Mexico only had like 60,000 troops. Now Mexico has 383,575+ troops. That's 7x the size they use to be.
@@knightlykin1499 Eisenhower created the military industrial complex and pretty much gave the US military capability that would make the Nazi war machine look like savages with bows and arrows. If you completely eliminate modern rules of war and restrictions the US could turn most countries into a glass parking lot.
The US soldiers would have been armed principally with the M1 Garand semiautomatic rifle, not the .45 caliber Thompson sub-machine gun. The Garand also has a longer effetive range and accurate at a longer range holding off their opposing troops long before they got close to hand to hand combat range. The knights would have been supported by a complement of archers which would have been very effective as the US troops of that time did not have body armor. Th archers would also be well within the range of the Garand. Still the US troops in proper formation should still rule the battlefield.
This would be cool to see with a legit program, taking into account: Archers Friendly Fire Ammunition Limits Grenades Gun Malfunctions Bullets Effect on Armor Cavalry
How about we make it a little more realistic. He's only putting foot soldiers against ww2 troops. In reality there was another line of defense. Add the archers, the ballistas, the javelin throwers and all other ancient technology into the mix and see how the ww2 soldiers fair against that. Ww2 soldiers may or may not win but I guarantee a large Boulder thrown by a catapault would definitely cause a few casualties on the American side
you need to ad a reload function after 30 rounds and most the soldiers had Springfield semi automatic rifles not full autos the full autos were actually rare and most were purchased by the actual soldiers or there family members however squad members would take over the full autos but most people didn't want them cuz someone carrying full auto would allways ve targeted first in a strike...

show us the kill count at the end, why did you skip it this time?
U.S Army would have lost atleast 30% just from friendly fire.
I like how the corpses can actually form large piles lol.

just push the wall of dead people over. go all 300 on their ass.
Always bring a gun to a knife fight.
With unlimited ammo
This isn't war, it's pest control!
This isn't war, this is stupid. And not the fun stupid either.

It would be more realistic if the ww2 soldiers had to reload. The y would still slaughter the knights but would take casualties on their front lines
The guns never need reloading???
you know, they have an underground mountain of ammo
YEAH I NEVER NEW A GUN YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO BE RELOAD...! WOW...! IF YOU FIND ONE LET ME KNOW...!
I'm impressed that your computer can deal with it. I feel it might blow up.
i can get that many with just a GT 730 on the lowest settings.
Interesting. The US troops would have opened fire when the knights were within 300-500 yards. It is doubtful they would have ever gotten that close to the US formation.
10.000 WW2 vs. 1 Neo (matrix)
How the hell can the soldiers in the rear ranks fire without hitting their own men?
pile of corpses.... the only realistic thing in this simulation
Wrong. Friendly fire would have killed have of the soldiers lol

.50 cal and mines oh and a WW2 favourite the flamethrower
If you break this down it equates to 1 soldier having to kill at least 6 knights in order for them to win. This is heavily in favor of the soldiers considering they can fire hundreds of rounds per minute with separation and the knights are all melee.
For anyone wondering, a 9mm from a Thompson would go straight through their plate armor like it was nothing.
idk why but I found this satisfying as the heavy knights were getting mowed down by the us soldiers lol
easy way to build a wal
Just don't tell that to Trump! xD
Alexpascu2785 like in 300

this what happens when the gate appears on 'murican soil.
ohhhhh, I know what u mean

Erzy Werzy ohhh, I get the reference.
Erzy Werzy I
USA! USA!
Just like in the movies where you don't have to reload your weapon and have a endless supply of ammo .
I call bullshit on this, not one solider reloaded.

Such a realistic simulator. The soldiers can shoot right through each other and their guns never need reloading. LOL

Hashim Iqbal Same thoughts..
Hashim Iqbal agreed....this is lame
yeah but the soldiers would not be in a formation like that
Not to mention that some of them would have missile weapons.
Hashim Iqbal Once they see 100 of their men taken out in 10 seconds I think they'll turn around
war is not about firepower... war is about strategy... but salute to u as ur pc can support the rendering... nice one...
Bottomless ammunition, apparently.
I would love to know how many of the US soldiers where killed...........if any....
It would've been a hell of a lot more interesting with limited ammo
this is silly
Just shows you what a M 1 Garand can do with some guts behind it. This was a modern day Agincourt. Yet the knights kept on coming.
It is quite humorous to watch. Im sure it has been mentioned, but the US soldiers would have run out of ammo quickly, the knights were trained in hand to hand, the US soldiers would have broke and ran lacking armour and swords.

aishwary verma yes their guns is like a artillery😆😆
Simulator suggests a degree of realism.... not some piece of shit from A-Game
Hafiz Rashid Yes, epic in *stupidity* .
lol, how can wwii soldiers fighting knights feel realistic?

Too bad the Army never runs out of Bullets. Those knights and others would have had a fair fight.
I didn't know the Thompson submachine gun had 20,000 round clips.

Eisenhower created the military industrial complex and pretty much gave the US military capability that would make the Nazi war machine look like savages with bows and arrows.
If you completely eliminate modern rules of war and restrictions the US could turn most countries into a glass parking lot.
Anyway to redo it and limit soldiers to a few hundred rounds of ammo and no magic ability to shoot from the back row?
I saw the surprise in one of the Knights eyes as he crests the Knight Hill..!
Give them M-16s and US soldiers will only need about a thousand in their company.
They all have the M1928 Thompson? At least throw in some Garands, BARs, M1918s, M1 Carbines, and others.
I see the soldiers have magical magazines in their weapons so they don't have to reload.
People at back can't fire guns when there own troops are in there way!!!
You stack the adversaries in the least effective military formation possible.
How can the WWII soldier 25 rows back fire effectively?
This would be cool to see with a legit program, taking into account:
Archers
Friendly Fire
Ammunition Limits
Grenades
Gun Malfunctions
Bullets Effect on Armor
Cavalry
People are getting all bent outta shape... but this is what probably woulda happened, dudes is armor being slow and clumsy getting mowed down
Is this simulator taking reloading into account? Also the bodies would be piled so high the knights would not be able to get over top of them
Have them fight against 60000 archers.
The fact that this program allows the soldiers in the middle to fire shows that the program is weak.
Mountains of corpse....60000 deaths Vs 0....😂
What's missing is some background music... DeBussy'- "Clair de Lune" or some Glenn Miller's - "In the Mood"
you need to ad a reload function after 30 rounds and most the soldiers had Springfield semi automatic rifles not full autos the full autos were actually rare and most were purchased by the actual soldiers or there family members however squad members would take over the full autos but most people didn't want them cuz someone carrying full auto would allways ve targeted first in a strike...
