I've been driving for 45 years. Built "muscle cars" in the mid 70's to mid 80's. Since then my wife and I have owned a lot of cars and trucks, mostly purchased new. Just a tip; select the top 3 cars you want and then drive all three for just a few miles. One should tug at your heart and just "feel right". Screw what you read in Road & Track or Motor Trend magazines and what you saw on RUclips. BUY the one that tugs at your heart strings and you can't go wrong. You WILL be happy and what others think? who gives a rat's ass. Trust your gut and you won't get stuck with any car that is great "on paper" but you hate. TRUST YOUR INNER DRIVER and you will never miss. Just one old Hot Rodder's experience and opinion...
randy109 been saying that for years. Numbers, stats, etc mean absolute shit. Dfive every car you possibly can and which ever gives you that giggle thats the one you buy. For me it was a c63 amg. After testing every 4 door wifh 400hp+ in my price range at thr time ...and i.do mean EVERYTHING!!! haha. The c63 was just something that i wanted to drive everyday(my daily of course). Nothing else matters to md except feeling and connection between me and the car. The c63 just did it for me. Other people will have different connections. No harm there, buy ehat you REALLY WANT!!!
Totally agree. Lots of 4 sec cars now and big power is relatively cheap. Buy what you love to drive. It's the feel that matters. Power and speed are only a part of the equation.
Couldn't agree more.. which is why I'm overly satisfied with my 2004 M3. She may not make 1000HP like a Hellcat, but man... there's just something about how perfectly balanced the car is, how high strung the engine is for a 3.2L NA I6, how you can go from a track car to a road going car with NO compromises. I haven't had the urge to look at anything new... so many import sports cars from the late 90s into early 2000s are just golden! I'm just waiting a few more years to get my hands on a GT-R V spec.. this and the E46 M3 are all that I need!
Just waiting for it to be memed? Here's your chance! Original first ever image: imgflip.com/i/1a7kl7 Image with meme: i.imgflip.com/1a7ko1.jpg Post em while you can!
Was this before, or after you realized your supercharger wasn't working? Which by the way, was hilarious. Honest mistake, could have happened to anyone. Nice to see you be so transparent about it. Honesty has a charm on the internet unlike anything else.
I'm wondering why you say that both the VF Engineering and ESS were the price they were "including installation"? The reason I ask is because I'm in the market for a supercharger for my E46 M3, and have my eye on the ESS550 kit, which is $7,700, not including installation. The VF Engineering VF480 kit for the E46 M3 is $7,800, not including installation. Where did you and your buddy find those prices with installation included?
What I love about Supercharged BMW's is that they still have that natural feel, they don't feel as if they're completely different cars. Which is the case for many cars when you add forced induction to them.
Get a proper intercooler and put it somewhere where you dont get heat neither by radiation or convection. Get some water methanol injection system. Relocate your intake manifold temp. sensor. It is very intrusive IMO and I think it is a common mod for e39 m5s with good results reported by owners.
Parker do you like the Michelin Pilot Super Sports? I have them on my hot-hatchback with 210 hp, and i feel like they do not provide a lot of (accelerating traction), but they do very well in the corners.
Seems like you're liking all season tires, I'm just thinking 'why?!'.. Changing tires every fall and sprig isn't that much work and you gain so much performance from real sporty summer tires, but also good winter tires.. Loving your channel, greets from Germany!
I have an 540i e39 96 and I'm in doubt between changing the gearbox to manual or using a supercharger as an upgrade. I know that both would be ideal but I have to choose one. what do you suggest?
Supercharged E46 M3 scares me; E46 suffers from subframe mount tearing issues and I suspect that this will get worse with increased horsepower. E39 on the other hand, is one of the most reliable chassis out there.
Dont do pully first at all. Get the intercooler add in just that alone will make your ride more consistant. Then you can buy a pulley and it will be even safer and produce more power paired with that intercooler.
Take both the supercharged e39 and e46 to the dragstrip to see whats faster, also try the e39 vs your s550 again to see if it can beat the merc with the new supercharger. looking forward to your next vid
you don't need all season tires if you are driving in the snow with any car that has traction and stability control. as long as you don't do anything crazy, the traction and stability control will take care of you in the snow just fine
They are both awesome cars we have a 46 m3 in our squad and possibly supercharging could be an option! One thing I was curious of was is there any change in the throttle response feeling? The m5 sounds amazing also!
Hey parker, How often have you been driving the m5? You mentioned that you had tried to daily drive it, I currently own an e39 530i and I hope to purchase the m5 in a year as a daily. With that being said, in poor weather how does it do? Im assuming it's similar to the 530i. Thanks, Dylan
Quick question, what is the name of the head unit you have in the m5, my 540 is still stock and I wanna upgrade it but it is tough to find a unit that works with DSP, thanks
ESS coukd you please make an affordable supercharger kit for my C63 amg? Weistec has a really lame monopoly on the c63 supercharger and they are terrible with customer service
hello parker. just liked to congratulate you on your vids. I have a quick question. I have a BMW 328i 2013. but I want it to drive like a m series type car. any recommendations?
hey man can you please talk a little bit about your radio in the m5, I have been looking for a setup for my m5 but I can't find anything worth trying out, most of what I find is on Aliexpress and well i'm not to sure about buying a center unit from Ali
Put r888 tires on your m5 Parker , I have them on my mustang gt supercharged 420 wheel hp the tires are 305 though so idk of the m5 can fit as wide of a tire but they hook like no other I had slicks before 275 width and I'd say r888 is about the same with the 305 width though
Hey Parker. Any chance you might know where your friend got his E46s rear subframe reinforcement done? I'm a Michigan local and I just bought myself an E46 M3. Been loving it ever since until some hairline cracks made their way onto my car and now I'm strapped to find a reliable place that can do the job without murdering my wallet. Any info would be appreciated. Long time follower love your content, keep up the good work.
The S54 has rod bearing issues without forced induction anyways as any high revving engine. I'd honestly change rod bearings on any higher mileage engine before going FI.
I had the first supercharged m3 in country besides for AA proto car back in 2005, car didn't run great at the time jumping to stg 3 however it would roast first second and 3rd gear on bbs lms with some good tires... Seeing these newer kits seems like they are putting the power down perfectly which is surprising
That M3 sounds better than expected, NOT a fan of the sound of 6 cylinders; but that isn't too bad. The sound of that V8 in the M5, jezz... Sounds great
To adjust boost on a Supercharger you change the Pulley so if he wants an extra 30-40hp change the Pulley raise the boost get more power.... I used to not know this till I made that same comment on a video! We all learn eventually 😂
+Maximilian_ILC Thank you! SO if I am understanding this correctly, the smaller pulley lets the supercharger have less displacement to travel to couple with the engine, therefore losing less potential energy in the process that can be utilized as kinetic inertia? Or am I still missing something?
Simply put, A smaller pulley will increase the RPM of the supercharger, by doing that you are increasing the flow of air forced into the manifold which is essentially increasing boost pressure. Im not an engineer, just the son of one, if your truly interested in the topic of supercharging i would read this www.simplystance.com/en/handleiding/how-do-superchargers-work then maybe look into learning about more advanced forced induction teq. cause im more of an NA guy... Why do you drive the e46 with traction control off when you don't want to spin the wheels. Traction control off doesn't make it faster, it just makes driving for some more dangerous.
E46 M3 will forever be on my list of dream cars.
same here
Yep
All the way one of the best cars ever made
E46 is king!
Cough cough e36s are better cough cough so are terminators

I would go with your M5. The E39 is my favorite generation M5. The lines just look so good. Nice car!
E34>E39
E60 is way better
E34 😛😛
E34>E39
its not cheap to maintain don't forget that. im planning on getting rid of mine soon, and finish my bachelors

Congrats on 400,000 subscribers!
Was this before, or after you realized your supercharger wasn't working? Which by the way, was hilarious. Honest mistake, could have happened to anyone. Nice to see you be so transparent about it. Honesty has a charm on the internet unlike anything else.
Anyone else wanna see a drag race with the M5?
An e46 m3 with a supercharger is like...
A hot girl goes out and get a (.Y.) job and puts on some higher heels
Two of my favorite BMWs, I love the m3's color combo.
wtf mate its so fckin nice
I really just got flamed for liking the color lmao VV comments are a god damn war zone
M3 looks beautiful
BRUH how did you not get a clip of the two cars racing from a dig or a 40 roll or something!?
He did. He lost.
SuburbVids where is it cause is not in this video like for real you have to do some pulls and drag races
Shout out to the dog who left nose marks all over the m3's passenger window
Haha. Noticed that too. All over my windows
All of my windows have dog art on them
do more of these 'head-to-head' series, they're fantastic!
CONGRATS on 400K!!
Why no drag race ?
Awesome video dude, these 2 cars are My favorit.
I'm wondering why you say that both the VF Engineering and ESS were the price they were "including installation"? When the sunroof flew open at 0:10 because of the takeoff 😂😂
So as of now, the m5 is cheaper than the m3?? (not including maintenance)
E46's are newer
+Nathan Fleetwood and wayyyyy better looking
that literally does zero good lol
+Eshrekticism the m5 has more hp & torque, more like a family carish, the m3 is straight like sports car, in a way less convenient
+Eshrekticism wrong person😮
What happened to Eddies B 302??? I wanna see more of that and this m5!
Get a proper intercooler and put it somewhere where you dont get heat neither by radiation or convection. Get some water methanol injection system. Relocate your intake manifold temp. sensor. It is very intrusive IMO and I think it is a common mod for e39 m5s with good results reported by owners.
you should add an intercooler since it suffers from heat like you said since the kit you got didn't come with it.
I love both cars, they are sweet. what form of superchargers are on the cars?
this video is showing me that you should really upgrade your supercharger kit and get that intercooler and power up!
personally like the sound of the E39... never thought I would say that hahaha
oml now that I hear it without the Windows being up... even better
Parker do you like the Michelin Pilot Super Sports? I have them on my hot-hatchback with 210 hp, and i feel like they do not provide a lot of (accelerating traction), but they do very well in the corners.

awesoem videos i enjoy watching most of them keep it up 👊 👍
+stephen Berezin thank you!
Make a race..S550 VS M5 E39!!
*///M POWER*
Club Bmw Amg M5 power!

Would have been nice to see them run against each other and/or get some quarter mile numbers. Good video nontheless, congrats on breaking 400k subs!
Hello Parker, just curious on the z4 giveaway! When are you thinking of doing it and are you using the random generator again?
Take both the supercharged e39 and e46 to the dragstrip to see whats faster, also try the e39 vs your s550 again to see if it can beat the merc with the new supercharger. looking forward to your next vid
I'd be a bit worried about the fragile rear subframe mounts on the M3 with that much power. The body can crack in some fairly terminal ways.
you don't need all season tires if you are driving in the snow with any car that has traction and stability control. as long as you don't do anything crazy, the traction and stability control will take care of you in the snow just fine
Hey man! I live in Australia, I saw one of your videos about how to pass your driving test and passed it in the next few days thank you!
They are both awesome cars we have a 46 m3 in our squad and possibly supercharging could be an option! One thing I was curious of was is there any change in the throttle response feeling?
The m5 sounds amazing also!

hello parker. just liked to congratulate you on your vids. I have a quick question. I have a BMW 328i 2013. but I want it to drive like a m series type car. any recommendations?
I didn't hear any whine in the superchargers...was it there?
I drive a 2006 lincoln mark lt it us posible to fit a rush engine? by Tha way probably be able of buy next year
You should try hypermiling to see what millage you can get with your cars
Was that a special edition trans am at 2:15?
hey man can you please talk a little bit about your radio in the m5, I have been looking for a setup for my m5 but I can't find anything worth trying out, most of what I find is on Aliexpress and well i'm not to sure about buying a center unit from Ali
@Vehiclevigins can you guys do a review on a tuned/modified honda s2000? That would be fantasic and compare it to the e46 m3.
Hi folks! Between RS5, M4, C63 coupe and RCF: which one has the best exterior looking? Thank you
Hey Parker. Any chance you might know where your friend got his E46s rear subframe reinforcement done? I'm a Michigan local and I just bought myself an E46 M3. I've heard that supercharging while still decently reliable has bearing issues? Is that true, I'd like the supercharge my m3 but am nervous of that.
The S54 has rod bearing issues without forced induction anyways as any high revving engine. I'd honestly change rod bearings on any higher mileage engine before going FI.
cmoullasnet What about since it's had them done with the recall? Should I change them again since I just hit 100k?
Parker i have a question, is there a specific reason you choose ESS over other brands
Just curious thanks
Errrr fit an aftermarket intercooler on the m5?
I've never opened a notification so fast.
I had the first supercharged m3 in country besides for AA proto car back in 2005, car didn't run great at the time jumping to stg 3 however it would roast first second and 3rd gear on bbs lms with some good tires... Seeing these newer kits seems like they are putting the power down perfectly which is surprising
Sounds like you should invest in an intercooler for the M5...
E46 all day, best looking BMW period besides the E30! I also love the E39
Hey parker, how expensive is it to maintain your e39 on a yearly basis?
I would definitely improve the intake cooling instead of going with a larger compressor pulley.
also, reckon you guys can do a review on the 2016 m2??
There both Vortech blowers! There not different???
Sounds pretty good Parker.
i might have missed it but what year is the m3?
enjoy your E39 vids
That M3 sounds better than expected, NOT a fan of the sound of 6 cylinders; but that isn't too bad. The sound of that V8 in the M5, jezz... Sounds great
You need the ice box the air to water, Vortech makes one and aftermarket companies as well!
Please tell me how changing a pulley adds 30-40 hp. And for so little. If that was the case everyone would be doing it?
To adjust boost on a Supercharger you change the Pulley so if he wants an extra 30-40hp change the Pulley raise the boost get more power.... I used to not know this till I made that same comment on a video! We all learn eventually 😂

Does your e39 have a full exhaust or does it only have a muffler delete?
still love your channel, luckily you didn't sell your bimmer, it is one of my favorite car of your channel.
my dad didn't sell his 530 either LOL instead, he made the car looks new
I am really debating on getting a super charger for my m3
m3 is not really in the budget but a e46 330 is manageable. I wanna learn and do some DIY stuff is that a decent platform to learn to use wrench on?
Yes, there are tons of E46 diys and lots of community forums. Check out Pelican Parts, ECS Tuning, FCP Euro, AutohausAZ for parts. RealOEM has all the parts diagrams. otherwise the cars are physically easy to work on. Only caveat is its really handy to be computer literate so you can use the BMW scan tools which can be a pain to set up (ISTA/D, ISTA/P, INPA)
No. Too much electrical stuff, and parts are very expensive, especially compared to cheaper alternatives.
If you really like BMW, get a cheap E30, otherwise, Miata, or an old VW (original Beetle etc), or just a newer beat up Civic.
I learned to wrench on an NA Miata, and when my next car was a 2002 540i, I was disappointed at the lack of stuff I could do on it myself. They're moody cars sometimes, too.
Skip BMW if you wanna learn... I learned it the hard way on my E39 M5. Unless you know what you're doing or have experience with cars, learn on a Japanese car
Can you please review the 2016 Lexus RC F ? Its my favorite car I look forward to owning one soon and I would love to see a review on it.
so nostalgic. back when VV actually produced real, relateable, down to earth car content :(
I wish you would do more classic cars and trucks that would be a nice video!
put in an intercooler with the pulley?
hey guys i have a e39 525i and i wanna know if i should straight pipe it lmk
How much fuel your supercharged M5 consume on avegare?
Nobody noticed the moon roof flying open during the first pull in the E46????
Parker man u always end with "I look forwards to seeing u in. The next video"!!! U mean we will see u in the next video as u can't see us bouncing burger boy of White Castle lol
Yo serious question what kind of coolant should i give my e90 328i
bfy.tw/7d2W
You could buy premixed or mix it yourself, but premix 50/50 should be fine for most people.
Really? All-seasons in the winter? If you are driving a powerful rwd car in the winter you should have winter tires(you should have winter tires regardless of the vehicle you drive). Winter tires will do more for you than awd. Also your new pulley setup will make the heat soak issue worse so I would consider getting an intercooler as well
there are actually lots of e46 m3's in mexico city, i've seen quite a lot
I'm just curious does anybody know what year the m3 e46 is?
is he sure they are supercharged this time?
but before adding SC on the e46.... subframe reinforcement! hahaha
Will be getting the VT2-525kit from ESS next year for mine but getting the subframe done at the same time as well. no cracks but will not risk getting it cracked.
My stock R/T did pretty good going up against an M3 couple nights ago 😁
Are the internals stock on the E46?
love your videos bro, you've almost convinced me to change from medical science major to automotive engineering. Now you just have to convince my old school arabic father :/
Why not add an intercooler?
The sunroof at the beginning kills me lol
The sunroof opening on acceleration killed me
Why do you drive the e46 with traction control off when you don't want to spin the wheels. Traction control off doesn't make it faster, it just makes driving for some more dangerous.
how muck salary do youu need minimun to own a e39 m5 ?
I actually love your reviews and you guys look really handsome.
What year are those bmws??
parksy buddy how many tickets u got in that monster?
Only four so far..
tickets are bills for having fun
