I just have a question- I was always taught to do all my analysis points first (so three paragraphs against for example) and then all my evaluation points after (three paras that appose the analysis) and then my judgement. Your videos support integrated evaluation- and I've seen a few websites do too. Which is better? Separating all analysis and eval points or integrating them? This would be for any 'comment on/discuss/evaluate' 10-20 markers. I'm independently studying OCR Economics legacy A2/AS exams. Thanks in advance. (By analysis and eval points I mean saying 'this is beneficial/ effective' and then apposing this 'however it isn't benificial or effective considering' ...)
For example; you assume that an indirect tax will perfectly allocate resources towards the socially optimum (whereby MSC=MSC), however it’s very hard to assign a monetary value to an external cost. Furthermore, governments have imperfect information and arguably will never be able to place a “perfect” indirect tax. So the assumption of the perfect indirect tax is wholly inaccurate in real life
im also passing my edexcel unti 1 tomorrow, can someone please explain me the evaluation point of magnitude? i know its big and examiners love it but i am a bit uncertain about it. also good luck to everyone we can do it :)
Good luck to you too! It's basically about the size of your point. So if you said a minimum price would lead to unemployment you would Zevaluate And say it depends on how high the MINUMUM price is above the equilibrium (MAGNITUDE) so if it was small it may not have a significant effect and vice versa
@@elliottcooksey6886 hi Elliot it’s been a while since I did econ Alevel but you always get further marks for talking about the limitations of your argument, some of the things I use to say were either this is ideal in theory but not in the real world a good example being a perfectly competitive market yes in theory it’s nice for people to have perfect information and there to be perfect price elasticity but in the real world people do not have perfect information and price is never perfectly elastic there will be variation in products being sold and so the arguments does have limitations. Just something small would be great. Crazy I still remember that 😅

Integrated evaluation is always better. Exam boards and examiners are now expecting this if you are to get into the top marks band
