Opus Dei (translation: God’s Work) was the band’s first album for Mute, garnering acclaim and throwing a worldwide spotlight on the unique Slovenian collective. Opus Dei Revisited presents two distinct new versions of the work, allowing the band to challenge perceptions and expectations, in keeping with the original where they reimagined Opus’ ‘Live Is Life’ (as ‘Opus Dei’) and Queen’s ‘One Vision’ (‘Geburt einer Nation’), two key highlights of the album.
The first disc of the Double LP / CD is a reworking by Laibach themselves which was initially crafted, and then refined, for their current Opus Dei Revisited Tour. For the second disc they invited Rico Conning (Wire, Pere Ubu, Swans, Front 242, William Orbit), who produced and mixed the 1987 version, to also Revisit the material. Conning was given an open brief to explore new territories with what was on the original master tapes. The results emphasise and eviscerate in equal measure, bringing wide ranging new perspectives and a strident aural attitude. Whilst many expected elements of the artistic masterpiece remain, they sit in exciting new landscapes and frames, which are anything but expected.

There is no doubt, at least for me, the best band of all time, what they do endures, i am grateful for their existence, much success always.
A good band (essentialy for the last album), ok, but the best of all time ??? Impossible to write this without being laughed at. Listen to more music then !

Holy crap, Laibach. you did it again. With your 1st version, you invented Epic Power Metal 15 years before anybody else came up with that idea. Now you remix that run-down 80ies Rock Party hit again. This time into a Rammstein sings Goth - Dark Techno Version. Let´s see if again you are frontrunning a trend by about 15 years.

First version the original i still have the original cd version much better. More minimal less electronic or symphonic. Just scary and scarier much more than this 2024 version.
Am I the only here who's missing the innovative years of Laibach when they used to bring in new challenging ideas? There's been a lot of recycling in the last two decades and my interest definitely decreased.
ABBA FATHER GOD did create the simplest of fabrics (waters,H²O) to sustain ALL forms of life here on earth
