Big Z deserves love, he kinda gets forgotten in the "Lebron's early Cavs were awful" conversation. People forget how DESPERATE they were to resign him because they knew that awful team would've been so much fuckin worse without him. He was a Steven Adams type back then, didn't score much but he was a banger in the paint and a good presence on some super young rosters
Far too much recency bias in this list. Too many 2000’s and 2010’s guys named compared to the older eras. Hal Greer is easily the Sixers most underrated player. He’s the all-time leading scorer for the franchise, and a major part of the 1967 ring but almost no one talks about him nowadays.
For the other teams, I’ll go Elgin Baylor for the Lakers, Artis Gilmore for the Bulls, Willis Reed for the Knicks and Paul Westphal for the Suns. Huge parts for each franchise, bit get heavily slept on today.
Baylor I wouldn't say as he is really highly rated. but players like Goodrich, Mikan(NBAs first star), larusso, AC green, norm Nixon, Michael cooper
@@petesmart1983 I don't know. I definitely think Baylor is underrated. Not many people have him top 20 all time, but the stats are CRAZY. The only thing hurting his legacy is the lack of a ring, but he was a crazy good player that doesn't get much credit.
Worthy is pretty underrated tbh.

The sports power couple Caroline Wozniacki and David Lee!
Am I A Legend?….. You kill me issac 😂😂😂
That’s the part that sent me too
@@Thehughesgaming especially when he looks at his hands too like the meme lol
@@Infamous6091 Issac always kills me with stuff like that, like with the “cranium is crazy” clip as well
@@Thehughesgaming that shit needs to be on a tshirt lol
Bobby Jones for 76ers, man has a super fun highlight real and was a monster defendee
Id say Moses Malone for the sixers. He’s borderline top 10 all time, and some people don’t include him in their top 20-30 players all time.
Bro latrell sprewell was definitely underrated. He carried the Knicks to then finals and was a very good plauer for a long time
This Pau Gasol bait will not be tolerated
obligatory "i want IGUODALA" @1:23
Leave Max Kellerman alone mane!
Podcast like this wish I had friends I could talk serious hoops with. My friends are mainly casuals & I’ve been an NBA enthusiast since growing up. Man you guys should incorporate fan visits or something.
Maurice Cheeks for Philly
Cheeks was a great player for Phillie but not a standout in any of his teams unlike half Greer or billy Cunningham
Lakers, it’s Eddie Jones. Suns, Dan Marjele. Cavs, Terrell Brandon, Cavs. Bulls, I agree completely Noah was a beast. Defense & playmaking, DPOY, MVP candidate. He was top tier. The heart and soul of that Bulls team. Held it down when D. Rose missed back to back seasons. Kirk Hinrich also a runner up. Knicks, Larry Johnson deserves a spot. Came in after a back injury, and had to accept a reduced superstar status in order to fit in with the Knicks culture. Helped the Knicks to some memorable player runs.
Lakers people forget about a guy: Gail Goodrich.
i’d say elgin baylor
@@definitelynotaweeb1111I think most people know he was insane
I'm a Suns fan & Shawn Marion is my favorite player ever, this video couldn't have a more perfect start for me. Great to see you guys give Trix some love
For bulls I would say Gilmore
I would have said Kirk or Dunleavy
I would say bob love brilliant defender and scorer spent his prime at the bulls . Also the 2nd bull to get his jersey retired
@@petesmart1983 yeah, I get that. Good pick
Moses Malone for Philly
I agree Moses is far more underrated, hate when kids post videos saying “of all time”, they might as well say since their time lol
Cooper for Lakers
dpoy off the bench 🔥
or elgin baylor
I agree 1000%
Fire takes 🔥🐐
I need to know who's sitting where and if y'all are in the same room because guy in the middle (I think) keeps talking and pointing forward if he's in the middle he's just pointing at a screen
Andre is definitely going to be a hall of famer
Gail Goodrich for the Lakers and Hal Greer for the 76ers
For the Suns Leandro Barbosa was the first to come to mind.
Hot take: Shawn Marion archetype IS one of the best. Marion falls into the Pippen archetype, and in my opinion that is a Top 3 archetype in NBA history if you want to WIN.
Pippen, Marion, Iggy, Kawhi (before he turned into Second Threepeat Jordan) and loooooowkey LeBron is in this archetype too... he's just obviously so far beyond the final form that it can be hard to see.. but when people were trying to decide whether he was a Jordan or a Magic type, the real answer was always Pippen. NBA fans just don't value Pippen enough to have given LeBron that comp, but it was always the right answer.
Incidentally, I also happen to believe that NBA thought (from fans, tv personalities, and even players/coaches) is still in the dark ages for as long as Marion and Iggy aren't in the Hall. Not just being in the Hall but also they should be recognized for being as valuable to WINNING as they were their whole careers. Like in my mind there's absolutely no question that Andre Iguodala was a better NBA player than say.. Carmelo Anthony. To me, it's not even close. But since NBA viewers overvalue the fuck out of lead scoring, that's not how it's seen. But Iggy is just SO much better at every single other thing on the court (most of those things being more important to winning at the highest level), it's really not close.
Iggy btw is Top 20 All Time in +/-. Not the greatest stat in the world (a bit noisy.. tho it does normalize over time), but it is a measure of what is literally the point of the game- how much your team outscores the other while you're on the court. This is not a coincidence.
Turns out being a TOP level defender, a high level ball handler/team offense facilitator, and a really smart player is extremely valuable.
Marion and Iggy should both be in the Hall.. but I'm not confident that people understand basketball well enough yet to see that. Whenever AI develops the best catch-all stat to REALLY boil down a player's value to winning at the highest level, I guarantee guys like Iggy, Marion and even pre-ascension Kawhi are gonna be seen as MUCH more valuable than Melo.. Kyrie.. Westbrook.. Iverson (👀), and other guys whose primary contribution was scoring (Russ did more, but imo he did it at the expense of team growth/cohesion but that's a whole other topic).
I immediately said Derek Fisher for the lakers, but I would also consider Robert Horry
Stopping kids from saying first

womp womp kids are still saying first
Kevin Johnson
Bob McAdoo is really one of the most underrated players of all time.
good to see my boy Iggy getting some love ❤
Allan Houston for newyork
I was thinking Nick Van Exel or Eddie Jones for the Lakers
I think Horace Grant should’ve at least been mentioned for the Bulls
“There was a time he lead the league in triple doubles with 4”
Definitely JR smith for the knicks. If you actually disagree with me, see his highlights and you’ll know. A little more basketball IQ and JR would be a star.
😂
Suns - Shawn Marion - One of the first “position-less” players in league history
Sixers - Moses Malone - Top ten resume forgotten in the Bird vs. Magic era
Lakers - Michael Cooper - One of the best defenders of all time, always guarded the best perimeter player on the other team for the showtime Lakers
Cavs - Brad Daugherty - Mark Price and Larry Nance’s running mate, largely forgotten behind both of them on those Cavs teams
Bulls - Ben Gordon - Absolute bucket on the 2000’s Bulls the best player on the pre- derrick rose bulls squads
Knicks - Dave Debusshere - Largely forgotten on the Knicks 70’s championship roster feel like he’s just ignored due to Walt Frazier and Willis Reed always being mentioned first hand
Lakers is probably Bob McAdoo but he wasnt really in his prime when he played for them.
For the Knicks I’m going with Dave Debusschere
Nah, I'd say anyone in the Hall of Fame probably isn't that underrated. Except for kids today people know Debusschere was a beast, especially defensively.
I'd probably say Micheal Ray Richardson. Multiple All Star and All Defensive teams, and the steals and assist leader in the same year.
Didn't Nate Thurmond play on the Cavaliers?
Prolly tingus pingus
Moses Malone for the sixers
Not Andrew Toney for Philadelphia?
I'm from Oklahoma so I'm going John Starks for the Knicks!
Bobby Jones for Philly?
Tayshaun Prints
Whattt moses malone for the sixers easily
Michael Ray Richardson for the Knicks.
Samuel Dalembert was the first name that came to mine but Iggy was a good one for Philly
JR Smith has to be the most underated player of all time and anyones only argument is the 2018 fumble
76ers is Tobias Harris
Anthony davis so underrated tho
Igoudala should really have more all star appearances, his 1 all star selection came after his peak ended when he was only averaging 12 6 and and 5, compared to the 5 years prior he was a 15-20 ppg 6 and 6 with 2 steals but the 76ers were bad so he never got the nod.
Edit: he’ll never make the hall, he has 1 all star and 2 defensive team selections, along with his finals mvp, that’s not a good resume. If Penny hardaway Shawn kemp Amare stoudemire and Tim hardaway haven’t made it igoudala will never make it lol
Great hot take!!!!. NY I was gonna john starks
Shump for NY
"i hurt my back once and couldn't get off the bed" got me dying😂😂
I love these vids David Lees the GOAT
David lee is underrated
Marion was the Suns main defender and should have got more recognition for that. Knicks I would go with hall of famer Dave DeBusschere.
Dave is a good choice a player who was critical in Knicks championships for his defense and was a good scorer too
For the suns I’d say Amare stoudamire
Facts
Not underated tho
Overated in reality, played zero defence and couldn't rebound. Someone like tom chambers or rex Chapman definitely
Bulls is 100% Artis Gilmore
Eddie Jones for the Lakers and Dana Barros for the Sixers
Nope not Eddie jones great player but only player 4 and half seasons, there's much better underated players. Barros was known as a Celtic player more than anything else
Hal Greer for the 76ers and Gail Goodrich for the Lakers.
Hal Greer for the 76ers
Dana Barros
Derek Fisher?
Marion might be the right answer for the Suns but KJ is my choice. And Tom Chambers gets an honorable mention
Kj was the star of the team for many years but never ever gets mentioned
havent watched the video yet but as a biased knicks fan brunson better be here
TJ McConnel is a perfect choice for 76ers. He’s a dawg!
Nice
Knicks Kevin Knox 😂
Frank
Facts
Eddie jones for the lakers
World B Free for philly
Spurs : Tim Duncan , i still dont know how ppl not having him in their top5 all time list
Because I think, for most, they have MJ, Bron, Kareem, Magic and Kobe
@@tamboy4172 i still dont understand Kareem and Magic , they are all time greats and legends , face of an era , BUT have ppl saw any full games of them ? Have ppl seen 70's80's games? Magic wasnt able to drible left hand or do a simple behind the back cross ( he littery tried once and fumble the ball) , Kareem was big and had the skyhook but it was effective cause nobody deffended , 70-80 years was standing ppl on deffense and waiting for rebound , open mid range shots all the time , if ppl actually watch 20 games from that era they would be suprised how zero deffense and skills where inthe NBA , deffense start develope in late 80-early90s cause of Jordan , and peaked in the 00's where mr.fundamentals dominated , so for me its kind of nonsense that ppl putting that two intop5 just causeof nostalgi
Top 5-10s will always be a subjective list but Timmy is definitely always in the pool for those lists. A career winner and has impacted winning since Day 1.
@@fullfradi95 It is not about how they can't go left or don't play defense back in the day, it is how they were in their era, not as if they played today. You can't compare them.
That’s a nba underrated player but not the Spurs underrated player
Hi
For cavs, people SLEEP on Austin Carr, Mr.Cavalier
First
we do not care 🔥
For the Knicks i was disappointed when jeremy lin wasn't even mentioned for the Knicks
