Thank you Phil for your honest assessment of the box. As soon as its announcements were released and I took a quick look at its potential content, a red light went off in my head. I'm from Poland, and the average take home salary here is PLN 5,908, while a Motley box with vinyls costs PLN 1,070 and a CD - PLN 1,040. Crazy… for such content! Even the bare-bones edit of “Dr. Feelgood” (35th Anniversary) costs between PLN 98 and PLN 105. Expensive for a single CD in Poland, where the price ranges from PLN 50 to PLN 75. So I have the original DR Feelgood edition and the 2003 remaster and I'll leave it at that. I didn't buy the 30th anniversary edition either. I'd rather invest in new music than buy the same album again. There's not even a BLU-RAY with the remaster of "Dr. Feelgood.” There isn't even a concert on DVD, but there were recordings from this tour because MOTLEY CRUE was at the top at that time and had unlimited possibilities. Is there no recording of a concert where the sound and image could be digitally processed? Free jokes. The lack of a booklet with photos, essays and curiosities is also unacceptable. Motley and the label have such a budget that they could easily be tempted to make a documentary (in the form of interviews and archival materials) about the album, tour, etc. 20 minute demo? Another joke... just like the performance clip on the CD. Thank you for showing the world this terrible and embarrassing box.
& went to the concert when they toured Australia in 1990, set list Kickstart my heart, Red Hot, Rattlesnake Shake, Too young to fall in love, Shout at the devil, Live Wire, Same old Situation, Slice of your pie, guitar & drum solo, Looks that kill, Don't go away mad Just go away, Smokin' in the boys room, Without You, Wilde Side Girls, girls, girls, Home Sweet Home, Dr.Feelgood & Jailhouse Rock, a great concert & very very loud. Was the concert filmed
Hard pass. Crue is the worst when it comes to milking a legacy. This is, what, the 5th re-release of this album? Not even a remix, no era-specific live gigs, no outtakes that haven’t been released years ago, nothing.
Thank you for the honest review Phil. I honestly believe more could’ve been done with this box set, but falls short compared to the others you showed (real box sets). Best…
Brave review Phil. It comes down to not just the price point with this, but the contents that seems to misunderstand the potential audience. To my mind, a boxset should serve to encourage even non fans to appreciate the original work.

Greetings from Sunny South Florida! I am a new subscriber who appreciated your meticulous review of this box set. It is a shame that at 35 years old, Dr.Feelgood was given another quick-cash-grab treatment. The record and name sake tour was the groups most commercially successful of their careers and certainly, this product could have been made or include something special. Coincidentally, i can recall my disappointment back in the day as well, in the puchase of the Decade of Decadence video, and its failure to feature anything special to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the band at that point. Thank you for your services, Phil! ☕️✌️😎
Remember buying the original vinyl on a Saturday morning in 89 in Birmingham city centre then going to “Bill’s” the Bierkeller when it was in Needless Alley when it was a rock bar on a Saturday lunchtime. Had a few too many beers and left the vinyl behind never to be seen again. Following week I bought the cassette and kept it in my jacket pocket so I wouldn’t lose it after the beer session again…
Totally agree. One thing I would add is that there were other tracks recorded at the same time as this album that were used for movie soundtracks n such. Those tracks and all the bonus tracks are on the Music To Crash Your Car... box set, so why not include those here. Where are the other demos or alternate takes. Where is the remainder of the live show. Why no DVD/Bluray. The Shout At The Devil box set was pretty well done, this is looks like it was thrown together by people who are not big fans, collectors or any of the type.
Hi Phil Great review and I agree 200 % with your opinion. Yes it falls short compared to those other ones. A shame when the marketing aspect falls short... I too love box sets.. happy holidays again. God bless you all.
Great honest review Phil. I always liked the sleeve art and like what they did with new illustration. There is a lot to be said about the Crue’s authenticity as a live band so this doesn’t help the belief that they aren’t serving the fans very well. Cash grab? Hmm. Maybe so.
Deluxe box sets shouldn't rattle. Great stuff. Reminds me of the Gary Moore Sanctuary Years box set, which gave little value for the price point. Thanks for the honest review.
Thank you for your honest point of view. For me if guns and roses loose the chance to offer something on use your illusion box set.... On this motley even try to. Only the cover is great. You can find demos on previous versions. Live tracks.... 3 live albums I think has been released. Be safe. Cheers!
It's hard to believe that Dr. Feelgood is 35 years old and while not a real hardcore fan of Motley Crue this was a really good album from them thanks again Phil Merry Christmas.🎶🎶📻🎶🎶
Hi Phil, thanks for the review was seriously considering buying this being a huge Crue fan but I think your bang on with your review it looks a bit shabby tbh and like you say doesn’t have that wow factor unlike other box sets you’ve reviewed throughout the year, I have the original vinyl and quite happy with that, cheers Phil.
Phil thanks for your review. I recently bought a two cd set from another band, which just has the CD’s, no leaflet/booklet etc therein and felt a bit flat so can only imagine however much you like the album spending that amount of money on this set would leave most fans somewhat upset.
A Blu-ray with the music videos on it would've been nice since it's an anniversary box set. But of course...gotta leave stuff out so they can revisit it AGAIN.
Great video, Thanks so much for sharing!!! I’m curious since the whole debacle with Mick, does he get any royalties from these releases? Would be interesting to know. Thanks for saving me money!!! 😂
The best boxset I own is the Wildhearts PHUQ boxset. Triple coloured vinyl in a purple velvet box and a coffee table sized book (around 50 pages) with loads of unused artwork, band photos and the band members writing their thought's and memories of writing and recording the songs....the cost...£100.
It's desperately missing a bluray with music videos, live tracks, maybe the old Decade of Decadence and Motley Crue: Exposed VHS tapes could be transfered and presented here. A new documentary with current and archival interviews. I feel like that would take little work, but would add a ton of value to this set.
From a strictly business standpoint, Crue got the rights for their Elektra albums and re-released them on their own label. Now they sold those rights to BMG for re-release number.....
I couldn’t agree more. It’s so obvious the band has been disconnected for a very long time. I hate it when some of my favorite bands that I grew up with go out this way. I reluctantly purchased the Shout box set but I will definitely not purchase the Dr. Feelgood box set.
Good review Phil. That Queen box set now looks a bargain! This looks like a lot of recycling. Would've thought they'd put a French letter in the medical pack
I think for me what rubs salt into the wound, is they have just recently released all the singles from Dr. Feelgood as a cd single box set. Surely that should be in the box set. For me the best value for money box set was Thin Lizzy Rock Legends from a few years ago, and included all their live tour programmes etc.
As always informative constructive feedback regarding box sets. I agree strongly with you that expensive releases must have that wow factor. I was hoping for a better set. I will not spend on this one.
in my opinion Phil, those box sets for the crazy price should have both cd and vinyl in them (they dont even include digital download codes anymore). No need to have 2 different versions of the box sets. I wasnt satisfied with ratt winger and dokken expensive black vinyl box sets for example, and i waited and got the colored versions for less that came out this fall (edit i was typing this the same time as i was watching the video and you saying the same thing lol)
Thank you for the honest review , a box set to stay away from , if it goes on clearance for like 30 bucks , maybe 40 bucks at most , but it’s currently 113 dollars on amazon for what amounts to a two cd set , highway robbery
100% dead on. Their Shout at the Devil 40th anniversary last year had both cd and vinyl and worth it. For Dr. Feelgood like you’ve said it’s been remastered and remasted your not buying this for a “remastered remaster” you buying for something you don’t have in your collection. Now I loved the 39th anniversary box set of Dr. Feelgood. It had a lot of stuff in it and more expensive but def the best Dr. Feelgood set to date. The 30th was released by their own label. Now that they have sold their rights to BMG I’m sure they still have to help out and may have a lot to say but I think BMG has the final say obviously. So this could be the reason for the difference between the 30th and 35th box sets. Although again BMG released a great Shout box set with both cd and vinyl and more. Hopefully the 40th anniversary box set will be better.
Not a big Motley Crue fan, but did go see them live once and it was the tour supporting this album. With that, not much is being offered for the money here. Bunch of random stuff thrown together for a quick and easy money grab. The concert was good, this particular album was good, but nothing warranting the price point.
And the second half of your video just scratched the surface of the "selling of product" vs "curation of art/music". Rhino has done a fantastic job of balancing BOTH as well have several other music/record companies, but unfortunately, the "other" side also exists. I chose to show my support thr old fashioned way...to purchase or not, that is my final answer!
Great review Phil. I'm not a Motley Crue fan but looking at that set it appears very poor value compared to the excellent Marillion deluxe sets that were recently released at a fraction of the price. They also do have that wow factor!
Not a fan of MC but if I was a fan I would feel disappointed, it does feel like a bit of cashing in is going on. Thanks for the review and honesty Phil, much appreciated. :)
My personal opinion, Motley’s got about 7 really good songs since Shout at the Devil. I do think the 94 album with Corabi was their best album musically speaking. It’s just not Motley Crue without Vince.
Hi Phil - I am not a Motley Crue fan at all, however from what I can see on your review that set just doesn't stand up to other similar boxes, that you've mentioned - I too love my box sets. I dont have any issues with criticism, even on my favourite artists - you dont have to apologise for saying what you personally think of a product. There is nothing wrong with constructive criticism !! I'm all for it. So - dont be frightened to criticise a product and point out its failings, if thats what you think. It is after all your own personal opinion, and that's what we want to hear. Keep up the good work. Cya Doug
Fantastic Honest Review…I didn’t buy it, but I did buy the singles box set that was released on RSD this year. It cost me $80, and it really has nothing in it. Very disappointing…Motley dropped the ball!!
Totally agree Phil. Feels very cynical and money grabbing. I wouldn’t be buying this anyway as I only really like the first album, but this really does feel like an insult to the fans. How many times has this album already been re-issued? 🤔
Hello from France phil😊. For me the only dr feelgood i love is the pub rock band dr feelgood. What a wonderfull band . I'm a huge fan. Lee brilleaux, wilko johson and the other musician. My top ten band all over the time 😊. Goodbye phil and good music😊
Hi Phil.Nice review of Motley's Dr.Feelgood.Great album.Great band.Been a fan for 40 years now.Never looked back since i heard Shout 1st time. Love everythilng they have recorded ever.Seen them live 9 times.Met the band 1986 after show Theatre Of Pain tour.I have the tour book signed. I think Theatre Of Pain is a brilliant record. I love your channel and your posts.Especially Hard rock and metal related. Do you still own leather version of Too Fast For Love. How many records you have cds and vinyl? Any clue? Love to hear from you.TUOMO FROM FINLAND
I hear you Phil, I'd love to see all that too but maybe the band don't have it. maybe there were budgets to contend with, who knows. I'm an absolute hard core fanatic who has both versions of the set and every single Mötley Crüe product ever released. It is what it is. I'm sure the band had full involvement as BMG Pais 90,000,000 for their catalogue.
@NowSpinningMagazine the labels do not care as boxsets are cash grabs to them and they just throw in crap. They don’t ask fans or experts. They ask “consultants on a budget”. Even many big bands. Can’t and won’t mention names but I do know (for a fact, no rumor or speculation!) that of quite a few bands on a major label there is amazing stuff in the vaults and the label didn’t even know. And once they knew they thought the cost to transfer the absolute insane material was too high and (again no joke) they’d rather let it detoriate. The problem is all the old timers and real archivists are gone and young executives with no love for the music and musical heritage are in charge now.
They're aiming it at the fanatical completionists, the ones that 'have to have everything' by the band... I'd be super mad at a 26 minute live show by ANY major band, they can shove right off with that crap!! That's the exact same reason they did separate vinyl / CD versions, too, gotta get those completionists...
Phil, Ive been a die hard Crue fan since ‘86 and I can tell you …I can’t count the times that I’ve said “they need to let me design the box sets”. Their treatment of the back catalog has been a disaster.
Excellent review Phil. Never ever liked Mötley Crue. Your critique was so true. An interesting question would be a)Did the band have any input to this release, seems not? b) the record company pulling the strings and band don't give a damn ? c)The band still seem to be bitching about this and that and finally are the band trying to top up their pension funds!. Sad state of affairs. Price is ludicrous been thrown together as you say . Lazy effort, the problem is if the record company think that they can get away with it they will release other albums. I know bands are struggling at the moment many reasons but this is a rip off . My comments were all about the product not the music because i don't like the music. Finally Phil as you said look how quickly quality well presented box sets sell out. Think Jethro Tull original box sets sold out. Ian Anderson thought hey let's give people a chance to own etc . Decent prices and Ian having control what was offered etc Take care Jonathan
I really dig Mötley, and this sure is one, if not their greatest album. I also really love box sets. Stuff like wallpapers and stickers etc, really does nothing for me. Maybe I would have loved them as a kid, but now they are just nice but unneccesary. So for me, it's ALL ABOUT the music that's included, and as great as the album is, I would never, even in my wildest dreams, buy this for that kind of money. The live stuff is intresting, but 20+ minutes, are you kidding me? And that on a separate disc!!! They could have put god know's how many live cd's from that tour in here, not every track needs to be from the Dr. FG record. And they could have also put some later recorded live versions of the songs here. Also the demo's cd, of course it's nice to have it and listen to it now and then, but I'm pretty sure the demos are not THAT GREAT, that I would end up listening to them over and over again for years to come, and that too, on a separate disc. And for that kind of money, a hardback book with all kinds of interviews and written stuff about the album and the band would have great. If Nikki, who I believe is the captain of the crue, has aproved this, I'm shocked. Just really big missed opprtunity.....well, five years and we get the 40th anniversary set, this lousy box is a great basis to build on. Thanks for great video again. Have a merry christmas.
I bought the boxset few weeks ago $108 amazon the cd boxset is $113 makes no sense like you said if the cd boxset drops I will buy…SATD was nonsense as well but had better goodies…BMG bought the catalogue so they just trying to recoup their investment…
BMG own the catalog. It's not lack of marketing knowledge - they just dont care. Milking the hard core fans is priority #1. Do yourselves a favour and buy the 2003 CD version which has the demos. The live stuff has been released many times elsewhere 👍
Money grabbers, not caring about the fans. I have the album I’d cd anyway, and I wouldn’t get this, even if I could afford it tbh. Honest review, and with you on what you say
I am of the belief that the box set was poorly done. It lacks alot of the collectable memorabilia from the Dr. Feelgood 89-90 tour. They utilized the same photo for almost everthing in the box set. Alot more could have been included such as epic pics of Tommy playing drums above the audience as well inclusion of the Moscow Music Peace festival which was a great show from that tour.
None of Motley's legacy releases have any touches of the super fan who collected and curated media from their favourite albums. This stuff is all thrown together by graphic design offices and are not fans. They've been lazily repackaging the same releases and demos and live tracks since the 1990s. There doesn't seem to be anything of quality in their vaults to share. Luckily, all that old paper media culture still exists out there and is mostly online at this point.
So true Phil, love the channel, best unboxing and only one I'll watch on the tube. Huge motley fan here.. Honestly Phil I think the band is out of touch with the fans, just look at their live performances lately, Very disappointing.. Is this the 3rd Dr Feelgood boxset over the last 10 years, maybe less, ridiculous and full of crap stuff. bring out a book to put in the boxset with the history of the tour (I went here in Australia, fantastic concert) motley are just money grabbin right now. Do they need the money or do they need to wake up and respect the fans.. they can't even respect Micky Mars right now... just look how lazy they were with the cancelled ep. Don't even get me started on my favourite To fast for love vinyl, how many releases with just a lazy arse variant colour.... rant over... Keep up the fantastic work Phil 😊
How many times are the Crue going to re-issue albums theyve already Re-issued? Off top of my head theres the original, remastered one around 2003, the version on Music to crash your car to boxset and the green vinyl version in the boxset issued about 2 years ago. Its a complete rip off
Their 2 best & biggest selling albums are Shout Of The Devil & Dr. Feelgood so you would think these box sets would be as epic as those Metallica box sets. Motley Crue was my first concert experience back in 1985, but technically the opening act was the first band i've seen live. The band ? Autograph ("turn up the radio")
So.. I waited a couple of days after it was released then I found the vinyl box set for half of what it was originally selling for on Amazon. They know people are very impulsive & buy it. If it sits around then they drop the price. Basically it's a money grab!!!
Im not necessarily a Die Hard Crue fan. But when Dr Feelgood was released it spoke to my teen age self. Its one a handful of albums that marked that time for me. Albums make their marks like bookends. Especially for Boomers, Gen Xers and possibly Millenials too. I would had bought the Dr F box set for the book alone to add to my book collection. Thats how much an appreciation I do have for this album. I have bought books from Aerosmith, Pink Floyd, and Led Zepplin. Im bolo-ing the Beatles, Cure, U2 and Metallica. Im not typically a Crue fan. Again. But if this box set had a full out BOOK like the Who's, well after seeing that box set, Im gonna include the Who and others to my list just for the books alone. Crue. Yall really let your fans down on this one. Maybe yall can try again for the 40th anniversary. Learn the lesson here, and knock it out the park next time. Like you did in 89. When yall left a mark on this kid's life.
I really liked the first two albums. I remember when “Theater Of Pain” was released at our record store and being so disparity the new look and even more disappointed when I listened to the record when I got home. After seeing this box set of “Dr. Feelgood,” I’m glad I didn’t buy it.🎧
Theatre Of Pain is my favourite Motley Crüe album. It has a perfect blend of the older heavier sound and the commercial sound which was to follow. I’ll never understand the hate
Your right Phil the contents are very dissapointing ,I’m a motley fan & I bought this for €150 but the amount of music is very poor compared to my recent purchases ,the Thin Lizzy box sets are a good example of box sets done well ,I expect 5-6 records in a box set for this price or 3 records & 3 cd,s /atmos with lots of demos & full live concerts ! I’m a box set fan too & have bought some on your recommendations -would love to see a vinyl Gary moore box set ! Enjoy your Christmas & looking forward to a best of review .
The Motley Crue box sets "Dr Feelgood" and "Shout at the Devil" were BOTH very disappointing, music content wise. They are indeed "deluxe" in their paper/goodies content but at 57 years of age, this stuff is of absolute ZERO interest to me! Heck, my 14/15 year old self would have felt the same way about this "cash grab" of goodies...NOT!
I like Motley Crue but would not consider me being a super fan. And I am not Multi-format; CD only for me. All in all this Box Set looks like a miss. Now, I prefer Box sets in 12 Inch size, with large book and picture size. The King Crimson Box Sets, Who’s Next, Caravan, Billy Bragg, Van Der Graaf Generator… a lot of great sets in my collection. This one won’t, unless i find it for 20 quid.
Why would anyone buy that? I love this album, but that’s ridiculous. I just have a fairly recent 💿 reissue and I was tempted to get the Zoetrope vinyl from Target, but didn’t. I think the 💿 is enough for me. And it’s egregious when more CDs are issued than necessary. There’s no reason for 💿 to be less than an hour long each, at least.
Yeah it's very disappointing for such a great album, three discs half arsed memorabilia a small poster and basically an enlarged lyric book. Just awful marketing, they brought out a video album for Dr Feelgood that had the five videos they made for the album. It had live concert footage recording session footage and band interviews. That should have been included , where are the rest of the demos even rough mixes things fans love to hear. As you said as well why no full live show, incredibly poor . I imported the Tom Petty Wildflowers boxset from the US a few years ago. With import tax it cost me about £140 . Five discs, hard backed book on the recording of the album song by song discussion. Tour programme, sticker, patch, lithograph some handwritten lyric sheets numbered certificate . Plus you could download all the audio in high resolution on the day of release as well so I had all the music before it arrived. Even if it comes down in price I won't be buying that boxset I have to agree it looks like the band didn't care what went out. Real shame for such a good album. Great content as always Phil.
This is the same as the 30th anniversary of Dr. Feelgood. The last box set i got, " The Fast Eddie Clarke," was far superior to the Dr Feelgood. This should have had a full concert on cd and / or Blu-ray ray and also a cd of the interviews they did.
Yep way overpriced for what you get, for me if we are talking deluxe editions my preferred way of doing it is like the Jethro Tull sets as its compact with a good book, i would much rather have it that way than boxes full of nik naks that i will look at once, the Sabbath/whitesnake boxes are good but they take up far more space than the Tull ones for no reason than to stick a poster in which im never using, by the same token i like large cd only sets like the Rory Gallagher or Elton John ones cos i do like a good large format hardback book if it has lots of good photos etc, back in the 80’s all the cd sets where in the lp sized boxes until long boxes came out, to me this set should of been like the Tull ones, with a full concert and maybe a dvd with a proper book with contributions from the band and priced £50+.
Totally agree Phil regarding the wow factor, this set is worth about half the price. The full live gig and a Blu-ray should've been included.
I’ll be honest…it looks like the CD we all have with a bunch of pieces of paper, a guitar pick, and a piece of string for a hell of a lot of money.
A waste of money for sure. Just slide a couple CDs in a gatefold and voila.
Hard pass. Crue is the worst when it comes to milking a legacy. This is, what, the 5th re-release of this album? Not even a remix, no era-specific live gigs, no outtakes that haven’t been released years ago, nothing.
To milionaire
Thank you for the honest review Phil. I honestly believe more could’ve been done with this box set, but falls short compared to the others you showed (real box sets). Best…
You’re 100% spot on with the review Phil
Hey, the vinyl boxset right now is almost 50% off on Amazon. They're probably having a hard time selling them.
hhv has the winger box set for 85 euros
Brave review Phil. It comes down to not just the price point with this, but the contents that seems to misunderstand the potential audience. To my mind, a boxset should serve to encourage even non fans to appreciate the original work.
Thank you and I agree

If any band or company need an example on how to assemble a box set, go no further than Jethro Tull or Whitesnake. That's how you do it!
Fantastic review sir, first time here and now subscribed.
I'm now going to see if you've reviewed the abysmal Use Your Illusion deluxe. 😊
Thank you 🙏
Hi Phil
Great review and I agree 200 % with your opinion.
$ 140 US dollars ? Thats insane for what’s in the box. I saw them in 89’ on that tour. Dig the album but no way I’d waste my money on that.
Exactly 👍
Thank you for your honest point of view. For me if guns and roses loose the chance to offer something on use your illusion box set.... On this motley even try to. Only the cover is great. You can find demos on previous versions. Live tracks.... 3 live albums I think has been released. Be safe. Cheers!
It's hard to believe that Dr. Feelgood is 35 years old and while not a
real hardcore fan of Motley Crue this was a really good album from
them thanks again Phil Merry Christmas.🎶🎶📻🎶🎶
Great review!! 😎 👍
They sold the old catalog a few years back, so Mick would have been paid out then.
You're right. Nothing more nothing less. 👍
Uncensored and Decade of Decadence on DVD would be insane.
This was the tour I first saw Mothley Crue on, Warrant was the opening act.
From a strictly business standpoint, Crue got the rights for their Elektra albums and re-released them on their own label. Now they sold those rights to BMG for re-release number.....
Yes I agree with most here, this is a lot of money for a cd with not much else!
Thank you for the honest review , a box set to stay away from , if it goes on clearance for like 30 bucks , maybe 40 bucks at most , but it’s currently 113 dollars on amazon for what amounts to a two cd set , highway robbery
i love motley very much, i would buy this yes.
This stuff has been released many times on their re releases, Music to crash your car to, etc... That could have been better
As always, your opinion and views are much appreciated and justified
Not a fan of MC but if I was a fan I would feel disappointed, it does feel like a bit of cashing in is going on. Thanks for the review and honesty Phil, much appreciated. :)
My personal opinion, Motley’s got about 7 really good songs since Shout at the Devil. I do think the 94 album with Corabi was their best album musically speaking. It’s just not Motley Crue without Vince.
Hi Phil, thanks again for this very entertaining video. You're very right with your comments on this box set. A rip off I think. Cheers Fred.
Thanks for watching!
@@NowSpinningMagazine Merry Christmas and Happe New Year. Keep up the good work and take care.
Sticky Sweet ❤
I hope they put out a box set of theatre of pain!
That is so sad and I have had my suspicions for a while that this was the case. you can also contact me via the website - Phil
I'd believe that. I always suspected they didn't want to spend on new transfers.
This is the only Motley Crue album I would ever own.... This and too fast for love
Decent prices and Ian having control what was offered etc
Take care
Jonathan
Thank you 🙏
good honest review, thanks Phil.
Well, there's absolutely bugger all to read...
I've quit trying to figure out why motley crue do what they do but the album is great
I really dig Mötley, and this sure is one, if not their greatest album.
I am a big Motley fan but this is definitely a big money grab!! You actually got more in the Dr. Feelgood 30th anniversary deluxe box set.
Phil, does the album CD have a gap or click between the intro and title track? Recent BMG CDs have had this issue.
Hi Rob, There is no click on this version - Phil
Money grabbers, not caring about the fans. I have the album I’d cd anyway, and I wouldn’t get this, even if I could afford it tbh. Honest review, and with you on what you say
I am of the belief that the box set was poorly done. It lacks alot of the collectable memorabilia from the Dr. Feelgood 89-90 tour. They utilized the same photo for almost everthing in the box set. Alot more could have been included such as epic pics of Tommy playing drums above the audience as well inclusion of the Moscow Music Peace festival which was a great show from that tour.
Well they sold the catalogue for millions. So doubt they had much to do with it. Maybe wait for the 40th anniversary edition...
Motley live paris 1989 and skid row
If it was a full live album from the tour (great tour) I would have purchased
No Blu-ray audio? No 5.1 or Atmos
Its a complete rip off
Totally underwhelmed by this release. Could have - should have - been so much more. What a shame.
A great review! And I totally agree…. It feels like to me- the band have just phoned this in for a quick cash grab
I think that Dr. Feelgood sounded like EZO's Destroyer song. The rhythm sounds the same.
I agree with your review 💯% this set is a insult to the fans.
It's a cash-in. Homes need to paid for and people are not buying tickets to their lip, bass and drum sync shows the way they used to.
Motley Crue keep rehashing their catalogue, this is at least the 5th version of the Dr Feelgood cd.
It shouts 'we don't give a shit'
They should of had a Blu-ray audio disc 24bit 96klz in Dolby Atmos or DTSX.
Well it can't be THE BEST 'cause then what they're going to release for the 50th anniversary right? 😜🍺🤘
Who's Next box set will never give you regret. Why does Motley always shit the bed?
Its Motley Crue, not Thin Lizzy. I wouldn't expect much.
Hi Eddie, thank you 🙏 wishing your a fab Christmas at well - Phil - The Thin Lizzy 1976 box is a fabulous example of how to do a box set.
That looks like an absolute car crash of a box set! Pun intended.
I love TOP and GGG.. Like them both much more than Dr. Feelgood.
Ripped off by Motley Crue?!? Well I never......😂
