18:30 Titan is covered in hydrocarbons so while they're not technically "fossil" in origin, you could use it as a source "fossil fuel" equivalents.

You can get access to the third floor by having low intelligence too-- your courier screams ICE CREAM! And its accepted as the password XD
it's a high luck perk too.
There's also a way to sneak up via a collapsed ceiling and, if you have 'Robotics Expert' perk, deactivate the robots there without triggering an alarm, or sneak attack kill.
Damn. I adore fallout 4, dont get me wrong, but this is the kind of stuff it was missing. How did Obsidian even have *time* to think of all these different ways to solve these situations?!
Jeres, maybe they didn't. I used to DM pen and paper RPGs and I discovered the best way to create a 'good' dungeon wasn't to just set a bunch of tricks and traps and monsters with a pile of loot at the end, but to instead create a situation and see what the players did with it. In the case of RobCo, the security robots and wandering Mister Handies come naturally from the background situation and so it makes sense that there _should_ be a few ID badges lying about and a way to enter new personnel into the database. Then just add some damage to the building, place the Paladins and you're ready to go. But however they did it, they did a pretty good job

The "Mirelurks" in Lake Meade are called "Lakelurks". They are however just renamed Mirelurk Kings.
Ol Eg I just call them mirelurks for convenience. They are a pain during that one boomer quest where you have to resurface that bomber.

This building is really a prime example of why I LOVE Fallout:New Vegas. It features hilarious writing (esp. in the museum area), it's interconnected with other multiple missions/locations/factions (sometimes in obvious ways, sometimes in obscure ways), and there are umpteen different ways to apply a variety of skills to make one's way through the building.

i had no trouble with crashes, but in my experience the DLC seems to CAUSE the crashes somehow? it didn't crash at all until i got a copy of the GOTY edition. Before that i had a dlc-free fallout new Vegas. But once the DLC was added i started seeing a lot more crashes.

Fossil fuels on other planets is possible, most of our oil came from basic alge, coal is just concentrated carbon, and methane/ Propane is a natural gas, i believe i know helium can be formed from deteriorating elements into a basic form, i don't think that applies to propain though

7:06 Fun fact. Standing on the display case will still irradiate you at about 1 rad per second. Maybe it's just a limitation of assets, but I believe the rod is still there, hence the latent radiation.

I really like how well and how thorough you tell the Fallout(s) Stories. If you play fallout games and you just skip through missions because of so much dialog, Oxhorn will tell you the full story and even show you things you might've missed. Love your work man keep it up!

Keep doing these New Vegas LORE videos. They're great and I like the way you tell the stories. You should do that REPCONN Test Site and Black Mountain. The Test Site is my favorite. I loved watching the rocket launch. It's the only time we ever get to see something like that in the Fallout Universe.

based on the real world PEPCON facility in Henderson, NV - had an explosion there back in 1988. 2 dead. 372 injured. $100 million in damage. The explosion was so powerful, it broke windows at McCarran Airport.
Ox, when you get down to doing videos about FNV mods, I'd suggest the Hope Lies mod. It's a really well done companion mod with a neat little quest.

Grievous Reborn they try to sound different though, in fo4 the voice is meant to sound organic, like a human, but in this they sound synthesized, like a conventional robot, in my opinion both are equally good

You didn't mention that REPCONN is a possible reference to PEPCON, the Pacific Engineering and Production Company of Nevada. You might have heard about their chemical plant exploding in Henderson, Nevada in 1988.

I appreciate the hard work and research you put into each video. The topics you talk about for example Pulowski Preservation shelters I did not have a clue that Bethesda named the shelters after a man. I look forward to watching each video you put out.
I cant wait for Fallout Frontier we will finally go to space on our own terms, and in new vegas technically, i also think the institute needed the deep range device from arkjet to either, reverse engineer it, to teleport further away, or to talk to the satellites that the Enclave made prewar, like the one in fallout 3 broken steel, or the Archimedes 2

It's sunday, it's raining like a mother outside, the temperature is a nice cool & windy but not cold 20ºC, I had a shower, got some coffee and am watching some relaxing Oxhorn lore videos while playing some Fallout 4 myself on the hunt for the last few achievements. Life ain't perfect but this has been a pretty good day.
That tour guide’s voice sounds a bit demonic along with robotic. So it is kind of unnerving when he speaks. I kind of would like the plaques in exhibits to have a condescending tone. Good to reinforce the do not touch and other etc rules.
Loved the Q-35 in my first playthrough. Lanius didn't know what hit him.

I kind of suspect that Julie was working for Poseidon the entire time. She tanked their bid as a ruse, partly to get RobCo interested in buying, and partly to position herself to where she could arrange for RobCo to buy it successfully while coming out looking like a valuable person to keep on after the acquisition. This put her in a great position to feed Poseidon info from RobCo and RepCon.

I recently came here during my latest playthrough. I, ironically, didn't have a high enough speech to pass the skill check on the first floor, but I had a 9 in luck so I could explore the third floor without fear.
Why would you jam your opportunity to get more XP?
Good on you for noticing the hidden walls- those each contain a Securitron that activates should you trip the security system here. If you jam the doors however, the one behind that door essentially despawns and never activates. You lose out on some scrap and ammo, but you gain not having to fight the potential threat.

A note to Project Nevada users, the Q-35 is one of the two default weapons modified to have a chargeup mechanic to it. Good times.

Idk, but I think there is a Lore mistake made by Obsidian there. 15:40 Mr. Handys weren't created by RobCo, but by General Atomics International. I know because my Mr. Handy Codsworth told me himself. So it couldn't be displayed in that museum as a RobCo creation... Unless of course RobCo acquired General Atomics too. Damn you Mr. House... :p

While I mostly watch this channel for the FO4 lore, there were 2 subjects from NV I was looking forward to you doing. You already did one (Boone's story), the other is Come Fly With Me. That was, by far, my favorite quest in the game. I really hoped those ghouls made it to somewhere good. But I liked Jason Bright, one of the top 5 best characters in the game I thought. Since you mentioned the quest here, and it ties directly in to Repcon, I'm hoping it means that will be your next NV video.

Yes it is the moon titan is rich in hydrocarbons to be used, what I don't get why didn't the US just irrigate a couple billion acres of empty land to grow corn, soybean etc to make biofuels like high octane ethanol and diesels and jet fuel etc it would of been plenty to fuel the US multiple times over
