Sometimes the best part about a camping trip is the story about the time that your diesel heater went out in the middle of the night leaving you freezing in your tent. This diesel heater will definitely set you up for a good story to tell someday.

I agree, the best stories are stories of struggle haha. Glad you made it through the night, these knockoff heaters aren't the best that's for sure.

Great vid. Just got one myself. Would love to see a video on how to switch to thermostat mode. I’m confused. Lol

Just had my unit upgraded, new fuel pump (quieter!), internal wiring, improved intake/exhaust etc, etc. All done, extra $145 just to get this heater the way it should have been manufactured with quality internal parts.

Nice! Even with the added costs it’s still much more affordable than the Canadian built diesel heaters.

What fuel pump did you replace it with?

I haven't replaced the pump yet but this one could work amzn.to/4eXA8yU

My fob came with batteries installed, but says it doesn't. DC cable not working, I don't want to switch the wires around and screw something up. I don't know how to check. Thx for the video, it helped 😀

Seems like it’s the luck of the draw with these heaters. I would ask hcalory for a new cable.

I would ditch their adaptor and get the silver "rough/raw" looking 12v to 120 converter for 15 bucks...it sucks you gotta do that but beats having your stuff burning down. Alternatively, you can run it strictly battery setup with solar

yeah i'm not going to use the one they gave me, going to stick to the one I bought off amazon.

You can't use a plastic heat pipe. It will melt and catch on fire.

I have same heater it’s a nightmare keeps going off and that’s with 4 inch ducting sometimes it will run a hour some times 10 mins on all different heat levels

I would try to see if hcalory can help you fix it or just exchange it for a new one

The seller on Amazon don’t do returns

Amazon doesn't do returns on the heater because of hazmat safety reasons, but if the item is defective you can request a refund or replacement.

I tried to get an exchange from Hcalory or any type of help from the customer line. They never responded. Pretty much a waste.

My customer experience was okay at best, and that was just for an accessory item. Seems like if its anymore than that they wont do anything.

Thats junk ducting should be aluminum

Thanks for the tip. Would the aluminum ducting lose a lot of heat to the outside air?
