I think the BB3 will likely open up quite a bit after the surrounds on both passive woofers relax a bit. Same for the primary sub woofer and mid base drivers. 40 hours use!! I would also expect some potential retuning from JBL via firmware down the road if necessary. Can't wait to get mine - I'll appreciate the higher vol output and extended treble for most of my music!
I brought my Boombox 3 to my friends house which has the Boombox 2. both speakers sounds extremily good, bass is ofcourse a huge improvement on the BB3 and the BB3 gets a bit louder. BB3 in my perspective has overall much cleaner sound than the BB2 but the BB2 kinda does better in the mids.

On their official site I saw that bb3 is more than 2 times louder than bb2. I have pb110 that reaches 160 watts on ac mode and bb3 reaches even higher. But when I saw your comparison with bb2 that reaches 80 watts on ac mode I didn’t saw much difference. I will say that it’s similar to what they made with charge 5 and charge 4 when they made sound cleaner and bass a bit better. But I will see your next comparison without eq. Maybe it will be more difference in loudness:)

It feels like they took bb2 and took of the waterproof protection so it sound way better and I really like it. I personally increased highs on eq on my charge 5 and pb 110 so I can hear every detail of the song:) and it reminds me the way how flip 4 sounds and I liked the flip 4 until his battery died and I got a charge 5
Never ever trust wattage. The wattage is split between the tweeters, the mids drivers in the bb3 and the bass. It depends a lot on the tuning. A 100W speaker can be quieter than a 50W speaker with different tuning

I have 2 Wharfedale EVO 4.4 speakers which is powered by 50 watts each (Class A/B amplifier) and they play significantly louder than the two Devialet Phantom II 95 db speakers I used to own. My guitar amplifier is a 15 watt tube amplifier and it plays at almost the same volume levels as the Devialet speakers when they are pushed to the limits (1200 watts max output combined)
Not really, in real life listening bb3 is more natural and spot on (remember to set the eq) it also has better soundstage, but the bass bb2 has more kick

Actually the Treble has a nice character not exagerated in any way and is quite sparkling. Still lacks definition, but it's OK. It's not annoying in any way and techder audios actually has some off hearing as well if he says that mifa products sound even decent. They are just horrible. Mostly that flip 6 copy

I noticed the improvement of the boombox 3. The mids are recessed, which other people says it's literally missing. The highs or treble is too much, make it sound too harshly at higher volumes, the boombox 2 was sounds quite muffled not that much of highs, but it's not EARPIERCING anymore like the old boombox has, and the bass was really strong, really deep, and it is alot better than the boombox 2 at higher volumes, the boombox 2 bass gets roll off and disappeared some of the midbass specially kick was gone, the boombox 3 mintains the bass all the way upto max volume. And it doesn't have the struggling to volumes at higher levels like, it plays veerryy soft or quiet outdoor, even at max volume still not as Loud as what expected, compressed the volume with that stupid limiter and muddy band compressor, it similar to Xtreme2 and Charge 4 can't get louder because it limiting the volume Even you crank up to Max volume, so it sounds like quite muffled outside, more like portable Subwoofer, because outside you would only about 30meters is bass floor, a verry deep bass with midbass and kick missing

I have a pair of bb2's sound much better in stereo mode Vs just the 1 was a little disappointed at first after some listening but after the second turned up they changed my mind I won't be buying the bb3 don't see the point when the bb2's in stereo is good enough and shake the floor even at low volume's

Jbl boombox 3 plays bland!, the middle is baked and sounds straining the ear!, in terms of the sound of jbl boombox 2 everything is different, it sounds more open, saturated! And the appearance of jbl boombox 2 will be much stricter!

I don't think the mids in the bb2 are that good, they are quite improved in the bb3 in my opinion, but I haven't heard it in person.
The treble is way louder on bb3 and its sounds more full and bigger also the bass has more depth

I have a pair of bb2's sound much better in stereo mode Vs just the 1 was a little disappointed at first after some listening but after the second turned up they changed my mind I won't be buying the bb3 don't see the point when the bb2's in stereo is good enough and shake the floor even at low volume's
