    Is the process the same for upgrading to 2022?

      Yes the process should be the same. However there have been changes to the system requirements that may require updating to 2022 to be a more complex process. See www.solidworks.com/support/system-requirements for more details on the system requirements.

    if i need to run mssql CU4 when do I do that before or after this process?

      Upgrading SQL should generally come first

    Goengineer....there are two servers . On the first server there is sql database & solidworks pdm using that which we upgraded from 2020 to 2021 today .....but there is second server which doesn't have sql database & is connected to that first' server database, now when we are upgrading the second server from 2020 to 2021 , its not doing upgrade...pls help...My manager is extremely angry at me because 1 server updated & other not causing any break ? I have to do other one as well .helpp...can you call me

    when i attempt the database backup i receive an error stating "the server principal is not able to access the database under the current security context" is this because that user needs to be added into sql as an auth user?

      It does indicate the username signed into SQL management studio does not have the proper permissions. You can update the user profile or log in with the SA credentials
