- At 96 years old, Bob Brocklehurst needs a little more help boarding a plane than he did back in the day. But give him a second and he's right at home.
With a grin and a thumbs-up, the World War II veteran took off from Tampa in a P-51 Mustang, similar to those he flew in the war.

I get dizzy and light headed really easily.. even a 180 degree spin would make me dizzy. I cannot imagine doing this as a job..

Thank you for your service. My grandpa was a bombardier in a B-24 Liberator. I miss him.
With how tough life was back then (Grandfather was a Combat medic in WW2, Great uncle being a POW in japan) I'm honestly stunned there was any even still alive past the 2010's. Lost those 2 much sooner in the 80's and 90's. Rest in power kings. Don't think we'll ever get to really appreciate the sacrifices made during those dark dark days. Remember my mother (also Rest in peace) making sandwiches just for my great uncle, just bread and butter. He still had the PTSD all those years later of starving, it gave him reassurance he could take as much food during the christmas dinner home with him and never go hungry again. Honestly i was only a kid at the time but learning more truths as i got older from my folks. It really made me wish i was born earlier to appreciate them more.
He survived WW2 and he still kickin' it. Bravo! 😃

Problem is they dont talk about the war. My great grandpa, who I was named after, never talked about his time in the war. He wasnt frontlines but he was support, never talked about it once, ever. His lips remained sealed even during the day he passed away

almost all gone, saw or did trough horrible things...the memories are a burden instead of glorious storys..war is never romantic.And I hope many old people had the chance to forget them.
