O say can you see by the dawn's early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight's last gleaming Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight O'er the ramparts we watched, were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket's red glare, the bombs bursting in air Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there O say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O'er the land of the free and the home of the brave🇺🇸🎼🎵🎶🎻0:20
I always hope to hear more such surprises, but as you figured, I don't have "Mairzy Doats" played by him. :) Am looking forward to seeing what you post. Good luck with that!
What a surprise to find this! Thought I had most of Heifetz' recordings and didn't even know this existed. This has inspired me to upload some stuff of my own. Don't suppose you have his recording of Mairzy Doats?
I don't know the source of this-my teacher had it in his collection and he couldn't remember who sent it to him. Also on the disc was the Villa-Lobos piece (that I have also posted). In any case, you and everyone else that have shown such appreciation..a big "you're welcome"!
If there was a god, he would bless all people, and not care too much about countries. He certainly wouldn't care about patriotism. Nice piece of music, though.
It is moving. I nearly cry, it is soooo wonderful. I am going to add this to my music play list. :D Thank you for sharing this emotional version.
Yes El Pendon Estrellado. I wanted to hear that played on Cello.
Wonderful interpretation!
Fiercely patriotic!!! I get goosebumps listening to this lol
Great outstanding rendition. I love both Heifetz and Oistrakh.
I like Oistrakh too - but what does he have to do with this unique performance of Our National Anthem? Answer: Nothing.
@@sebastiandangerfield9933 It is about both Heifetz and the Anthem. When people hear Heifetz or Oistrakh, there is a close association.
You're both entirely welcome!
Thanks for Posting!!

You're very welcome! Mr. Heifetz was indeed very actively patriotic. Sorry I took so long to respond to your kind note.
He was a patriotic liberal Democrat, which has become a rarity.
You are very welcome!
