There was also a war that started over a water bucket called war of the bucket. The War of the Bucket is a conflict that took place in northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region in 1325. The war was part of a larger, 300-year struggle between the Guelphs and the Ghibellines, and is often associated with the theft of a bucket from a Bolognese well by Modenese soldiers. However, most accounts say that the bucket was actually taken as a trophy after the war, and that the war was declared because Modena captured the Bolognese castle of Monteveglio

Do you remember anything about the "History of the world" video you did? When mentioning if people can sail across the world the video off mentions "No, but at least they had beaver" when talking about the US. That was far more important than something random. During this time the beaver trade was massive and nearly caused a war or two themselves. I highly recommend a movie discussing this academic concept in the live action looney toons film "Hundreds of beavers"
OS definitely goes off the rails at the end there. 😂 If you’d like some more history videos I’d recommend DJ peach cobbler they’re well made and he definitely delves into the core of why something happened and not just talking about the events in a part of history. He’s a bit unhinged as well.
Some Bosnian man shot an Austrian, leading to Austria declaring war on Serbia, which lead to Russia declaring war on Austria, which led to Germany declaring war on Russia, which led to France declaring war on Germany and Austria, then Germany invaded Belgium to get to France easier, which led to Britain declaring war on Germany, and eventually Austria, then Italy declared war on Austria since Austria had territories the Italians thought should be theirs. Boom, the First World War
The beaver trade is whated to the Westward expansion of the US and Canada. The American Beaver is larger and has better quality hides than its European cousin (not to mention that the European Beaver had gone extinct in Great Britain and was nearly extinct on the mainland. Side note: the European Beaver was the first successfully reintroduced species to Great Britain when a colony was started in Scotland in 2018). The beaver trade is also where the term "mad as a hatter" comes from, as the tough hides had to be treated with mercury to make them more supple, causing many a hatmaker to go insane from the toxic fumes.
In Canada on range land like that you are still required to fence livestock out of your property. They are free to roam on the roads and Crown land. If they get in your garden, build a better fence. I live on range land and there's a herd of cattle hanging around right now. If I leave my gate open overnight I will wake up to a herd of cattle in my hay barn. It's good for the ranchers because they pay the government a fee ($4.36/cow-calf pair/month here in BC) for grazing and don't have to feed their animals, just turn them out. They are pretty good about going home when the snow starts. It's good for the government because the grazing reduces the fuel available to the forest fires we get every year and they get a bit of money for doing nothing, as governments everywhere love to do.

It also wouldn't have been great considering that the Canadian troops had already burnt the white house to the ground which is what led to the original peace agreement. Since then both sides had entrenched and this wasn't like today with Canada having only about 1/10th the population, due to most of the land being a bit cold (funny still most of the best artists of north america come from Canada).
