Yeah, Freddie's vocals are insane... I tried to sing along in the original pitch once. I think I got as far as "just begun" (ironically) and gave up. Luckily I play piano quite well - pitch is less of an issue there.
It takes serious balls to cover a song that is not only technically difficult but people always say the original is best and get tunnel vision about. I think Brendan did a pretty great job!
kagnomi I think he did a good job. Definitely the best cover of the song, and I think Brendon showed a great deal of respect to the material, but I still prefer Freddie because he sang it with such passion, and gave every performance of it his all like it was the last song he’d ever perform; it was his opus, and he knew it, so he sang it appropriately. However, I think even Freddie himself would respect this cover.
Brendon Urie deserves every cent he's got since he started singing. He is a very disciplined artist and there is no doubt in our minds he is there because of it.
Can we take a moment to appreciate the back up vocalists- Dallon and especially Dan? They’re harmonising so damn good even they were playing their own instruments and Dan... even counting the beats. Please appreciate them too. Not all male vocalists can sing that high notes from 3:23 to 4:17(specifically 4:07).
Yes they were impressive, but you might have been listening to the recording of Queen singing the operatic section not the back up vocalists where they all were singing very high notes. If not sorry for the confusion :)
the operatic vocals are mostly pre recorded, not necessarily by Queen. they could've been pre recorded by opera singers. The people who consider this to be cheating are big assholes cuz its impossible to sing in that way, play guitar and drums.
Dark Venom Yeah, but then wouldn’t he be hired right after that? Also, his first Album was his biggest success in terms of albums, but as a single song, High Hopes was far and away the most successful, with IWSNT close behind
4:13 Ariana Grande left the chat Edit: Gosh, my replies on this comment are so cringe, sorry for that. Also, don't take this as a hate against Ariana Grande. It's just a stupid joke
So let me say this..... I'm a granny who's been listening to music a LONG time and when they first came out, my daughter drove me insane listening to them. I didn't hate them but didn't think they were impressive. This completely changes my mind. This blew my mind!!!!!! I had no idea he could sing like that. Made a new fan outta me. Amazing
MsMegaMegan1 Don't be talking about music if you think singing or anything related to music involves talent. Talent doesn't fucking exist. Singing is a SKILL anyone can learn
Of all the people that have tried to cover this song, or any Queen song really, I definitely think that Panic! At The Disco nailed it 100% the best. They kept it true to the original, and simply put small twists on it to make it more "in their style," but they didn't mutilate the actual song in any way. Fucking beautiful performance by Brendon Urie, and magnificent ear orgasms coming from the rest of the band as well; this is why I admire you all as both people and as entertainers/ music makers. Over the top in true Freddie Mercury fashion, but didn't make it about themselves. Absolutely. Fucking. Beautiful.

Erin Mckibben It was great but while this Urie guy did absolutely phenomenal and basically comparable to Freddie, the guitar work was solid in terms of rhythm guitar but lead for the solo was not that great especially compared to Brian May originally
Erin Mckibben it eh it was ok but really no one can nail brain may’s guitar tone because he basically has a guitar made out of scrap metal and a table. that being said he still has great tone.
Because none of them stand out compared to Brendon. They just don't. They may be amazing on their own, but put them in with him and they don't stand a chance.
I was so scared to watch this. I love Bohemian Rhapsody beyond words. This was the first song I ever heard that made me say “Hey, maybe Mom and Dad’s rock and roll wasn’t so bad after all.” I mean I really REALLY love this song, and I also really love Brendon Urie, but if he ruined this I don’t think I could ever hear him the same... But of course he didn’t. This man delivers like no other. Just wow. WOW... Wow.
Freddie said you guys can do whatever you want with the music... just don't make it boring. Brendon did a freaking great job at making it not boring!!!
I don't listen to Panic at the disco. but after that incredible, heartfelt and faithful performance of one of my favourite songs by my favourite band, I think it's time I give them a listen. The vocalist has a very smooth vocal quality that's so satisfying to listen to, it's very pure and smooth, as is his vocal range and dynamics. What a fantastic voice and performance.
Back Country Pastimes I highly suggest looking up his performance of Big Shot at the Kennedy Center Honors Billy Joel and also Lonely Days at the BeeGee’s Grammy Award tribute. Both are so great.
lovePanic! agreed, those covers are SO well done. i actually think he covered those better than this (although this cover is still amazing). his versatility never fails to amaze me
First I was skeptical, but then they left me amazed. Damn good cover of one of the most legendary songs. It takes balls to cover it and even more talent to do it right. Panic! At The Disco nailed it. Honestly
Queen was my Dad's favourite band, Panic at the disco is mine. Whenever I listen to this I feel so connected to my Dad. Miss him dearly but I'd like to think he'd have enjoyed this too.

Yeah, Freddie's vocals are insane... I tried to sing along in the original pitch once. I think I got as far as "just begun" (ironically) and gave up. Luckily I play piano quite well - pitch is less of an issue there.
Thanks
It's amazing
Luke Faulkner wait i think i saw u in pentatonix vid bohemian rhapsody
It takes serious balls to cover a song that is not only technically difficult but people always say the original is best and get tunnel vision about. I think Brendan did a pretty great job!
kagnomi brendon**
kagnomi nj
kagnomi I think he did a good job.
Of course people say the original is the best.... it is
Not technically difficult? Have you ever sang?
Brendon is hands down one of the best vocalists of this era, if not the best.

Beatrice ALSO KENNYS GUITAR SOLO GIVES ME LIFE
Yes they were impressive, but you might have been listening to the recording of Queen singing the operatic section not the back up vocalists where they all were singing very high notes. If not sorry for the confusion :)
@@RyanS66 I really don't know, but I think patd won't do that.
The operatic bits and the guitar solo have Queen in the background, so that's actually Freddie, Roger and Brian
the operatic vocals are mostly pre recorded, not necessarily by Queen. they could've been pre recorded by opera singers. The people who consider this to be cheating are big assholes cuz its impossible to sing in that way, play guitar and drums.

Absolutely. Fucking. Beautiful.

Why isn't anyone talking about the guitar solo? Yes Brendon is amazing, but that dude is just as amazing for doing that perfectly.
Erin Mckibben ikr Kenny is very talented
And he got so into it! I loved his solo
Erin Mckibben I liked it but there was no vibrato, which is essential in this solo
