The timing on some of these scares is incredible. The doll on the ceiling, the baby portrait, vinny being asked to check on the clown. Definitely some quality spooks.

I think that’s what I like about this game, it’s very charming and simple but the creator(s) clearly love horror and did a great job making some genuinely spooky stuff

vinny was just unlucky and spent a lot of time running around in the beginning without the doll, which probably stacked against him

the first few times you picked up the doll it said like "pick up the doll?" and later it said "pick her up?", just find that interesting.
i think its supposed to reference how you started bonding with it,so now the protagonist just says "her" instead of "the doll" because now they (protagonist) see the doll as more of a person,or maybe a friend.
i mean the doll is the one entity in the entire game aside from the cat that is completely benevolent. she heals the player, and warns them to danger. makes sense that you'd bond a little with her
The dolls are used to bring the dead back and are their bodies, the doll you specifically have is spookys doll

Anyone else notice how the doll's face subtly moves just about every time he enters a door? I'm about halfway through and I just moused over the timeline and the thumbnails scared me
I fucking knew something was off with the doll placement. There were times where I could have sworn the doll was turning to look at the player.

Funny thing about that time puzzle, I didn't find that note until after I solved the puzzle. I solved it because the timer, which is the real time of day, happened to be somewhere around 5:45.

Im so happy Vinny looked up. Every other person i watched play this game would miss the ceiling doll (unsurprisingly because its small enough you have to look STRAIGHT UP to see it). 10/10.

Tomar did the voice of the CLOWN, no way, I know Vinny knows nothing about him but all he really needs to know is that Josh's friends did a letsplay of this game so its kind of funny to see the funny beard man voicing a creepy Clown
The scariest thing about this game is that known cult leader JOSHUA TOMAR was involved in its creation. He has killed thirty three men in the state of Pennsylvania ALONE and bumped into me walking out of a Krogers and only said "sorry" once which, yunno, kinda rustled my gears.

3:29 *The Doll:* (Tool) Your only source of healing. Healing will eventually exhaust her charge, which is refilled in the tea room. If you are holding her AND she is charged, Frenzy will never spawn.
8:20 *Husk:* (Hostile) Appear once you have the Piano Key. Deactivate once you enter the Great Hall. Reactivate once you enter GL Labs. Easily dispatched with the Axe.
21:50 *Woormy Charles:* (Hostile) Activates once you take his key or hit him with the Axe. Once he chases you out of Storage, he'll never go back in it, and will stay in the hallways. If you kill him (~10 hits with axe when he lowers his head during attack), he will never respawn.
24:35 *Clicky:* (Harmless) Stalks you noisily.
33:45 *Clown:* (Harmless) When you're not looking at him, he slowly moves closer, taking a random pose when you look back. He escapes his cage after you get the keys from the doll hands ( 39:43 ).

1:01:35 *Endings:* Destroying the Seal Device forces the ending sequence. To get the good ending, you need to destroy the gate to hell first.
1:04:20 *Hooked Doll II:* (Hostile) On the second visit, attacks if you look at her. Teleports to a new position every 10 seconds. Drains health if you are standing too close to her.

Haven't watched the video yet, just wanted to say that the turnaround vinny had on this really warmed my heart and I'm glad he's come to appreciate the game.
For anyone not in the know, the first time he played the game he accidentally skipped past the scares, entering a code to skip ahead right before the first proper chaser and then getting a bad rng seed for any monsters popping up afterward, leading him him to dismiss the game.
Then, after hearing some more things about it he came back and replayed it again, this time running face first into monsters and having a much more positive experience.
I'm glad Spooky's managed to make such a solid impression with Vinny and its something he can come back to multiple times and enjoy.
Now watch him turn on the game within the first 10 minutes and make me look like a dumbass :)
I ended up giving the doll one last tea party before I “ended the nightmare” just because I felt bad...

@@jamesmccomb9525 I'm not sure if it's accurate or not since I never tested it (as I do not plan on playing this game) But i'm pretty sure shaking the doll heals you, but "Drains" the doll. There's a tea room you're supposed to take it to to fill that meter up, which.. I guess is an indication of how happy it is?
If you let that meter stay at 0 you get chased by that ghost lady, and I think she's a one hit kill? I could be wrong.
So I THINK the "shake doll to heal" comes at the cost of "Do it too much and you get chased by a 1 hit kill ghost unless you bring the doll back to the tea room"
Unsure if it's actually a one hit kill, or if it just spawns a unique threat that wanders hallways till the doll is happy.

I don't really know if i like the ending tho, it felt a bit "well here's a good ending, bye!", but i guess the lore told you everything beforehand so there wasn't really much else to tell the player, and spooky never wanted to say anything about it so yea
Yeah it’s a bit sudden I feel. Maybe a monologue by Spooky as everything disappears woulda been nice.
Yeah, I tabbed out on this stream and I didn't even know the game ended. I think this dlc was more to put a nice wrap on Spooky, and being invested in old Spooky's Mansion, I liked it enough and it was cute. It could've been put together better, but on paper, it was fantastic imo
Yeah it's weird she somehow both knows what that spot means and also only really acts mildly upset when you first go in there

The written logs show she talks to them and tells them to do things. Her saying at the beginning that she, “Forgot this place” means she’s been there at some point

The layout of the mansion in the title screen reminds me of the Gloomy Manor from Luigi's Mansion 2.
This was a really great DLC to tie things up with the series. This had some great spooks in it.
Also that part with the clown in the room and the hallway and Vinny realizing something in that starry password room was so fucking funny.

it's really cool to see how much better the developers got as this game's development progressed. from those flat cardboard cutout 2D monsters and simplistic environments to higher detail and animated 3D models
