Alice Smith is a singer and songwriter with a style of R&B, blues, jazz and soul. She performed live at Afropunk Festival from the Commodore Barry Park in Brooklyn on August 23.

Hey guys, I really agree with all of you; these people are beautiful all in their own unique way. But I need to say this. If a white person (me myself, for example) said this about some concert in which there's a lot of white people, maybe let's say a classical concert, and she would say: oh all those beautiful white folks. Wouldn't it sound a little bit... wrong? Please don't understand me wrong. I personally like to think that people of all skin colors can be beautiful (and if any of you believes in God, I presume you agree).

WHY is she NOT plastered all over the place, doing shows, selling records? She's beautiful, has a fantastic/POWERFUL voice, Great band, and all the attitude to be a superstar. If this is her choice fine, but I would love to see more of her and I bet many would agree. Alice is the Best!!! So wish she was playing afropunk again this year. I think this might have been the one year that I missed going but thankfully have seen her 3 times now and she's always incredible! Miss the days when Afropunk was a free festival but still..for the price they charge now it's well worth it. Last year Lenny Kravitz brought the house down..or am I getting it backwards..hmm..I'm forgetting if D'Angelo headlined last year or the year before..either way .. he also was phenomenal. It's always such a great time! And I love that you see all races/ethnicities there getting along and sharing in a love of great music! That's how it should be all the time everywhere!!
