Am I the only one around here who thinks this classic NFS looks, feels and sounds more futuristic than modern one?
No, youre not, but, this music is way ahead of our time and we got to listen to this 20 + years ago.And still enjpy it, today.
Thanks to EA and its badass muzic composers
No, you are not the only one who thinks so. Classic NFS are giving more atmosphere.
@Pablosuper90 💯
The new games are too focused on realism, which is stupid.
Look? No.
In terms of soundtrack? Kinda.
@@thatisabsolutelykooooge2211 Lmao, what? There's basically zero realism in the latest few games...
RIP Electronic Arts, never forget.
I remember a time where I heard electronic arts, and I actually perked up; knowing it usually meant something to get excited for. My only question is, what the hell happened?
Fish4Man61 Greed happened
They've made a former Pepsi Cola manager their CEO
yep... R.I.P. good old EA Canada in particular who made the whole 1st gen NFS! and R.I.P. also Saki Kaskas :/ I believe this track in particular was made by Rom Di Prisco a.k.a. Romolo Di Prisco (in good old 1st gen NFS days) in particular... this is my favourite OST from NFSIII; I wish they made games like this (with today's graphics)!!! That's a good old formula, they really should get back to it instead of... well... you know...

2:52 ENTERING THE TUNNEL - FULL THROTLE !!! xD

:O legendary status , wow
These songs made you FEEL the speed. I mean damn. I was focusing everytime I ran this track, thanks to this song.
I know this comment's 9 years old but it still holds true dude. So so true.
@@MrNamegame Hell yeah baby!!
I played this track over the remastered Need for Speed and it just made it so much more enjoyable.
Literally because the song dynamically changes depending on what's happening during gameplay.
Hell yeah, loved the soundtracks growing up. These new NFS soundtracks, however, just keep getting worse and worse. Heat was absolutely dog shit. This is racing music, not Spanish music. Good grief EA. Most Wanted 2005 was the last slam dunk on the soundtrack.
0:06 3 2 1 Go
2:52 Entering The Tunnel
5:37 Pursuit Mode
Then the fact that the music was frickin in sync with the track. The faster you drove, the more intense the music!
It is called dynamic soundtrack and it's amazing 👍
Love that part from 1:19 it sound so much like the early 90s Eurodance style:)
fuck yeah early 90s eurodance, wooo!! :D
Hot Version opening theme, it's called "Set me free". (v=zs9jvOaLwL8)

Not just the cactus, the fking sand rocks as well
I hated IT when i hit the cactus (so the tournament took me really Long as a kid)
I had this game for the second PC I owned, and it was the first computer I owned with a 3D card in it. EA should know that it's not just the police chases that made this game fun. The game's track design was amazing. I would race these tracks with no cops, no opponents and no traffic. It also had great music (not licensed) and a great sense of speed. Hot Pursuit 2 comes close, but I think this is the best NFS ever.
10 years later and I still agree with you
Don't forget about High Stakes/Road Challenge.
For anyone curious, the part that starts at 1:19 is the remixed version of "Set Me Free Again" by Richard Cottle which was used in one of intros for the awesome Japanese car show, "Hot Version."
Its also from Kevin macleod's shiny tech song
My god it does lol
TXRD2
this part always reminded of "Think About The Way" from Ice Mc
Is an effect from Sounds Good - Eurotech.

beat @ 1:19 made me tear ...I remember if you kept it at 170mph thru the canyons this beat would come on right before the big jump.
Mikey V the part from 0:01 to 5:53 made me tear up... ;)
i still have the game for pc but on windows 8 the sounds won't work! THE MUSIC! out of all the things that could glitch

Que buenos soundtracks tenia para esos tiempos
When NFS was just about exotic supercars (Corvette, DB7, XK8 and SL600 great sports cars) and getting away from the police
Not to mention the Ferraris, Lamborghinis and McLarens.
Exotic supercars. In that group you include Ferrari, Lamborghini, the CLK GTR, Jag XJR-15, just as an example.
I liked it when NFS went economic. The underground & most wanted & carbon games influenced my purchasing of a stick shift Chevy Cobalt SS, just to see what the experience was compared to that of the games.
Rim Di Prisco kills with multiple compilations in one track and the transitions are simply mind blowing! Hail 90's Electronica
I love Redrock Ridge/Lost Canyon. This stage actually put your skills to the test along with The Summit & Country Woods
Combining a various situations during the race (like driving through tunnel or slowing down) with different parts of the music track was the greatest idea ever!
It's called dynamic soundtrack 🎵
This game, NFS2, and NFS High Stakes made my racing childhood.
Man, the music in NFS II and III: Hot Pursuit were just plain legendary. I love it
OK, I really need to put NFS 3 OST to my car!
Now THIS is the kind of music I'd love to dance to at the disco! 😱
And this is where it ALL began. EDM for me started right here.
these games still had something none of the other newer games have (aside from the music)
Shray ea wasn't as acquistive as today, those days. Maybe it si it.
+Shray these older games had soul and feelin'
+Shray also most of us who say this were young when we first played these games so these were our first whoa experience and nowdays games arent that big deal now that we have grown up and played many before.
Apart from this you are still right because nowdays games are very lazy in many aspects and kinda "conveyor belt made "
Ric Hard to be honest though, i still enjoy playing the classics from time to time...I find that almost every game these days focuses too much on open world and free roam...it makes the tracks boring and too similar to each other....these games had vastly different environments and tracks
Shray they are doing the open world because thats the demand. So they supply.
They put video games on the market so hard.
Graphics get better, games look more awesome, cars looks cooler, but the nostalgia beats everything. Thx, NFS, I don't care if it's old or new, you're my childhood.
Yeah but music which is part of the experience and immersion degraded big time. Take Heat or Unbound for example.... compare the soundtrack to this. With this OST you "feel the speed" with the new one... you feel sick.
This game gave me the best times of my childhood. ✌🏻
the synth at 0:46 gives me such an euphoric feeling man, what a masterpiece
This was the last NFS game that made night racing really, really hard, especially since a lot of tracks were not streets so you were racing in pitch darkness. And then of course, you could flip or reverse those same courses. Night racing in the rain can get tough in the latest Hot Pursuit and I think the game is terrific but in terms of pure difficulty the first one is the hardest
Nailed it
a cool detail of this game when you run at night you can use the car headlights in high or low focus the same as in reality I really liked this detail the tracks are also dark at night some roads in reality without lighting very interesting details of this game
goddamn EA was THE SHIT back then, unsurpassed. wtf happened??
Greed and Fifahype. Also CoD
Tim Jäger
but CoD is Activision ;)
They driven the NFS series from something special into total bullshit. Even Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon were not bad compared to the complete utter garbage shit that came after that....
RonTaboga Need for speed underground killed it, they brought the wrong Fans into the series
Tim Jäger
who's the correct fans?
So all this was available on RUclips and I didn't even know until now!
1. Kudos to the uploader.
2. Glad to know other fans too miss this legendary game! I thought I was the biggest until I saw the responses.
3. Faith in humanity-R.E.S.T.O.R.E.D.
4:30 I was always waiting for this part while driving in the race ! those musics were so good while driving in the game
1:19. I did my best speed and tricks with that drop.
Thanks for the memories and ending my almost 18 year search for the epic awesomeness.

ICE MC - Think About The Way
welcome dude
Rom Di Prisco captures NFS perfectly in Cetus 808. Its nothing short of a masterpiece.
The variating fast-paced, heart-pounding rhythm aswell as numerous sequences which makes this song feel like it's a mash-up of 4 songs in a way. Even hints of french house with some of his sound choices. It's a classic
As a kid, I still remember my Mom asking me "Don't the sounds of the engines roaring behind you all the time made you nervous?"
To which I replied, "It's not the engines that make me nervous. It's the sirens."
Still can't believe that rom di prisco replied to my email yesterday and commented on my most viewed need for speed III video, thank you so much rom for inspiring me, and saki plus matt regan.
Jungle, 303 and trance all in one is crazy. !! Ahead of it's time.
My childhood... Rom Di Prisco and Saki Kaskas ... Amazing music!
Perfect soundtrack for a perfect game. 2:51 was my favorite moment, focusing on the road evading cops, great times.
1:19 THAT'S BEST MOTORING'S INTRO!
There's just a special charm to this game that the newer titles don't have. I spent countless afterschool hours of elementary school playing this!
Yes! so many good memories with this game. Back when racing graphics were all boxy, physics didn't crash your video card and it was fun as hell.
***** and the wheels of the opponent's car glitched through walls when you drove through the tunnel, at this map its the very bottom left loop. x) good old graphics
If anyone is interested the bit from 1:19 is from the track Set Me Free Again by Richard Cottle.
Actually, Rom didn't sample it from Richard Cottle. I used to think this as well, but it's actually taken from an Akai sample CD called "Eurotech" produced by a company called Sounds Good. They both sampled it from this sample CD. Credit goes to Synamax for telling people about it.
please ...stop... 1:19 with your "set me free"...
set me free came out in 97 while the original SAMPLE is ICE MC - Think About The Way came out in 94.....PLS STOP writing shit
Driving a Nazca c2 in an open highway at evening with this song in the background... futurism at it's best...
90s need for speed games have a better soundtrack compared to NFS unbound.
1:21 the best sound!!!😮
3:37 Prepare to drop out sight as this course takes you from ground level into the depths of the canyon floor in seconds. Now is the time to balance your speed with steering technique.
If only NFS and EA were as good as they used to be.
AH! Sweet Memories
They just CAN NOT beat the classics 2018 and still pure gold :D
I wanna buy a C5 Corvette and want to listen to this song in the highway at about 200 kph = 1:18
Damn this is beautiful
MFin tracks that made out you were driving thru lost ruins is just so awesome
FUN FACT : Rom Di Prisco is a CANADIAN COMPOSER :) #canadiantalent
One of those tracks that make you press the pedal harder without noticing. Especially on the freeway!
Es el mejor tema de toda la franquicia Need For Speed, siempre lo recuerdo 😍♥️😍♥️ es perfecto para el circuito donde se corre, me hace pensar en conexiones intergalacticas y la antena parabolica es perfecta
3:52 alwaya gives me the chills. You know, I used to have an irrational fear of this particular section. I think it's partly due to the course being the "darker" version of Redrock Ridge? And partly due to the eerie harmonic series sweep.
Great soundtrack
EA without mind. Just said, that NFS 2015 will have music by Rim di Prisco - tons of guys like me will run to the stores for this game even without looking gameplay)) Im 32
+CrueL54 nice

My favorite track of the game. This song would get me so hyped runnin from the cops in the Mercedes and Id always wreck haha. Thanks for sharing the soundtrack. You rock!
Weren't the Mercedes and Ferrari cars locked in pursuit mode? Was that different on PS1?
Perfect!!!!
Isso relembra meus 12 anos, NFS foi meu primeiro Jogo de carro!!
NFS2 and NFS3 had the best House in the history of music. There I said it. Rom di Prisco was a genius (and the others were great, too). Dynamic music is something we need to bring back to the gaming world.
Actually its Trance genre, which was very popular on Europe during the 90s and 2000s.
@@Victor_2000s you're right ! I felt it as being part of the House genre, but Trance is definitely the best categorization. Thanks !
3:38 The best part of the vídeo

After 23 years now I realize how good I was at this game.
You didn't see how I was playing in an internet cafe then. :)
I was atrocious at this game when I first played it way back 20 years ago. But that’s because I was always driving the Ferarri F355 or the Countach against the better cars.
@@cygnusedge6847 then you'd be good, since you trained at 100x gravity
@@revvolutions I do consider myself quite good now. :) I can beat the expert tournament on the PS1 with the 550 Maranello. It’s insanely difficult to do on the PSX and took me many tries to get done. On PC it’s a breeze though.
Damn childhood memories, this game was the shit for me back then
Later I became fan of the 303 sound and more than 10 years later I find this, Aquila 303 is also very good goa style tracks and old racing games is a good combo
I'm rambling but I don't care. I wanna make an epic game inspired by Need For Speed and Trackmania, and my own fantasy. Basically, you'd have extremely awesome, fast and epic feeling music (there's plenty of music to find online, and presumably plenty of artists who are willing to license it for free or not too much money). You'd drive on public roads, but the worlds you drive in are awesome, similar to the NFS games, especially NFS3, and it would also have a lot of tracks in it inspired by places that I personally think are cool, you know, Vancouver, NYC, Antwerp (trust me, it's cool from certain angles), the Alps, heck I don't know, just trust me on scouting the locations alright. Inspired by does not mean replicas, NFS3 had a lot of places that were clearly inspired by other places (as all art is inspired by something), but they were super creative and cool creations of a kind of modern fantasy world.
Also, the world is hopefully openworld, but the cool thing is it doesn't have to make too much sense. It's a fantasy world, we're not driving in North America or Europe, it's a fantasy world, but modern. Also, it's dream logic, so you'd be going through loops and corkscrews regardless, eventhough you're on public roads. I've looked up that you have to go 25 mph to go on a loop, we could make the loops make sense as sort of the opposite of speed bumps, to make sure you're going the right speed, it doesn't have to make sense. Anyway, you can make your own tracks too, it would be highly moddable.
But I can't code, so is anyone willing to give me money so I can hire someone to code this game? You will get part ownership of the game of course
That would be an epic video game
@@kotnn-g Yeah I need a way to pitch it where I don't sound like a crazy person.
