@@JPS13Laptop at least from my experience when I used motion capture, it's pretty much always both. It's really hard to just use complete motion capture without needing animators to touch it up and in this case its needed to match Genshin's usual animation style.
Afaik motion capture isn't that accurate when it comes to little details (especially with fingers and where they land), so even if they use motion capture, they would still have to animate al those details by hand.
Ngl, I kinda did expect those animations to be correct cuz I remember watching another video a few months ago which was most probably abt the music notes or something (I'm not a musician so correct me if I'm wrong) during Robin's burst. That video was also abt if those were correct or not and it did turn out to be correct. So I also kinda expected here the animations to be correct. Hoyo seems to be very attentive to small details which is amazing imo (but then again hoyo IS a music company💀- )

Yes! We can all hate on Hoyoverse and their greedines, but the people who actually work on the content (be it animation, voicing, etc) give their all to this project for sure! They prob would give it all for free as long as we enjoy the results! Same for the other games.
Reminder, its not real BAND SHOW with the characters playing the modern musical instrument, but its just the presentation about Mavuika leading all tribes to Fight Together as their motto is "No One Fight Alone"

yeah once you know how to listen really well and play an intsrument its takes like a few seconds or minutes just to capture the tone
