As a professional inorganic chemist who's worked with hydrazine, I absolutely cannot wait to see the results on this one!
The anhydrous form or the most common hydrate ?
@@Trifosgene mostly the hydrous form, and several of it salts (sulfates/chlorides). I have considered preparing the anhydrous to do exactly what he is doing, but the opportunity has not presented itself.
Have you ever made an astrolite?
I'm 20+ years removed from my days in college in the chemistry lab, and I am so thankful that I found your channel. I might be out of the chemistry field now, but the chemistry field will never leave me. Can't wait for the video!
I in the exact same situation and I can confirm that this passion will never leave me either
Thank God I can learn about it on RUclips instead of spending $500k to never use it
Even your teasers are a beautiful dance between delicate innocence and incendiary rage
This teaser is a work of art. It is absolutely stunning in its beauty. You produce the greatest videos!
Looking forward to the video! Anhydrous hydrazine is crazy. Might make a small amount myself some day
@Edward Elizabeth Hitler That would be neat! Sadly anything with nitromethane >15% would be illegal for to do here at this time being but we are slowly getting to a point where many things will soon become legal for so I´m open to the idea.
It's amazing to see how far you've come in terms of video production. Amazing shots.
One of the channels I'm happy to be subscribed to.
I love the production quality. You clearly have an eye for it. Music is on point for a teaser and really gives that mysteriously dangerous spy-thriller vibe.
Who made the music on this? I love it reminds me of Ozric Tentacles
As a part-time quantum chemist, I love this channel because I learn about things I would never encounter in my day job.
OMG that osmium tetroxide droplet into the hydrazine was unbelievable!
great choice of music and awesome cinematography
Somewhere an ICBM has a bit of fuel/oxidiser less.
This chanel is realy incredible, such rarities of exotic chemicals.
Your work is beyond brief. I'm hooked. Thank you for making these videos.
That looks like amazing footage. Can't wait to watch the slow-mo goodness!
This one's gonna be one of the best videos of yours yet.Cannot wait!
I am eager to see the full vid! This is a excellently filmed and edited teaser.
I got poisoned just watching the trailer!
LMAO me too, Hydrazine and OsO4 are pretty scary
Within a decade the world will have great number of new chemists who will tell they choose to have career in chemistry because of this channel!
I'm sure, this video will be the perfect christmas present for all chemists!
Like a few others, my college chemistry days are long in the past. I was fortunate enough to have been able to use anhydrous hydrazine and have great respect for it. I look forward very much to seeing your new video. Thank you so much for your time and effort making these videos!
Can you make a video about your safety setup?
Like how do you protect yourself from these experiments ?
Woooow! It looks great! Now I'm waiting for the video!
This looks like a spectacular one. 😁
Can't wait. 👍
That´s high end quality of demonstrating the rich and colourful world of chemistry.
I love the way the sound was lined up with the music for the drop exploding looked amazing ❤
Time to read Ignition ! by John D. Clark :)
Cannot wait for this one !!!
Getting into actual rocket scientist territory 😁😲😎❤
Incredible how far you have come! Really impressive to see
That thumbnail made me drool
I am unreasonably unexcited to see what kind of footage this is going produce.
now i am excited also your cinematography skills have improved
dude SICK! Production quality is fire
I'm going to work with hydrazine for the very first time in a couple of days and am very excited - great timing for this teaser. Now I'm really looking forward to the finished video!
I think you finally nailed your aesthetic. This is incredible.
Hey, I like when you mix shit together that blows up cool! Keep it up!
Oh good lord. Excited and slightly scared for this
Ooh nice
You are doing the things I wanted to do. Living the dream. :)
Strikingly beautiful imaging.
Super! Thank you very much!
its just facinating to wach😍😍😍
That was truly epic. And it was just the teaser. I can't wait!
looking forward to this!!
Awesome trailer 💯
AMAZING!!!
can't wait!!!
This is gonna be nutz!
I am HYPED!
Yikes, those are some aggressive reactions! Really cool since I recently read Ignition.
Fire it up!
So cool
It’s going to be good!
that'đ a teaser if I've ever seen one o_o cant wait
I can’t wait!!!!
im hyped for this
I like for to so some examples or investigate hydrazine reactions with nitromethane. I've seen you use nitromethane in other videos of you have made.
It's legendary in drag racing and highly outlawed because it's so dangerous.
It's long been known and experimented with that adding hydrazine to nitromethane creates a mix of 2 chemicals at war with themselves. Breifly before things get out the control that mix creates additional power even setting controversial drag racing records back in the past. Let alone that mix can spontaneously in the tank. Left alone those reactions also create shock sensitive salts .
Seems to be no information as why and what's going on that this additional power or reactions happen.
I can’t wait to see this. These are some of the first picture and definitely the first high quality videos of anhydrous hydrazine on the internet. Triflic Acid for next project?
Can't wait!
You should do an episode on the Xenon Fluorides.
I wonder what the explosions and fire hydrazine video would look like
Thanks, great teaser!
🤑Thank you mate!🤑 I really appreciate your support 🤗
AWESOME! You beat me to it! I was planning on reacting hydrazine with osmium tetroxide but I haven't done it yet for safety concerns. I did hydrazine and Iodine Pentoxide on my channel (beautiful reaction) keep up the amazing reactions!
Has a kick kind of like my morning jump-start coffee ☕️💥😄😄
Just wow... 😲
That pipette full of OsO4 probably costs more than my school pays me to perform research
Мы это все ждали😍
This is going to be some amazing footage there's nothing like hypergolic fuels I don't see any videos online about it would love to see it in Ultra slow motion like million frames per second
Nice ampoules of NO2!
Rung the bell for that one 😁👍🏻
Back in A&P school my PowerPoint teacher used to talk about hydrazine. A fascinating yet terrifying chemical
The camerawork is insane.
Cool
The wonderful thing about rocket fuel is that it covers all the deadly bases, corrosive, toxic, deadly poisonous, hypergolic, flammable, and explosive. What's not to like.
You promised video about liquid H2S too, can't wait both
Hypeeee
It look serious😃👍
FYI - this was also interesting to watch at 1/4 speed.
Epic
Dec. 19th! Awesome!
I'm not sure but I hope :D
This isn’t rocket science.😊
But it's extremely toxic ☠☠☠
Not yet😊
I always like your music. Is it German techno?
cant wait already, hydrazine crystals? 🥰, also: can you get your hands on F2O2 aka FOOF?
Hydrazine was used for F 16 emergency power unit fuel. If you got any On you it was a hazmat incident
Well, rocket fuel here!
Where the things gone booow or on fire!
Музыка как из Шерлока Холмса :-)
I'm curious how those flammable chemicals are put into those sealed tubes without exploding. The ends had to be heated up to seal them.
N2O4 be like :
GEMME ALL YOUR ELECTRONS! I NEED THEM!
Do a colab with Curious Marc, so that you can actually fly to the Moon to test their communications equipment in real life situation 😸
Every last one of the close-up high resolution pictures of all of the planets in the solar system besides Earth are a direct result of these two chemicals and this reaction at 0:40
Excellent!
Hint: If you want your name attached to these videos, Patreon is the way. You will watch the videos with even more joy and even a feeling of accomplishment.
Opening the gates of Hell , just to get the party started .
Err, isnt N2O4 colorless? need to cool the orange NO2 down a bit for it to become N2O4 no?
Just re-reading 'Ignition!' by John D. Clark again, and this preview comes up, woo-hoo!
reaction equation N2O4 + 2N2H4 => 3N2 + 4H2O + -629.2 kJ/mol in standart condition(298K,1atm)
(I used chat gpt)
Getting anhydrous hydrazine used to be as straight forward as ordering from Aldrich. Man - that smell. Nasty.
Can you make a video mixing hydrazine with cesium metal please
Yes
On what channel do they dabble in substances? 😁
What is the difference between hydrazine and UDMH? Are the reactions really different or are we going to see all there is to hypergols :P
Both hydrogens on one side of the Hydrazine molecule are replaced with methyl groups. Both UDMH and MMH have significantly lower freezing points than regular hydrazine, which is why they were used in a 50/50 blend by NASA.
