This one of of the finest places for a bit of escapism. Even if it is only for a few hours. The longer you stay the more you forget life outside of the Loch Doon area. I live locally and this was the only holiday spot my dad would go to. He frequented this Loch for 52 years or more. He passed in Winter of 2018. He hated it that they stopped people accessing the loch for free. Free caravanning and free fishing. They just can't be seen to let people have something for nothing.

Thanks for sharing , my wife and I were there in July 2018 , nice to see it again , and so clean , we were shocked at the debris all around the castle ruins , apart from that we had a lovely day added to our visit to Scotland , I even took my paddle board out on the Loch.

I was one of the guys at the camp you can see just past the 2 minute mark, we saw your drone above us. Small world! Great video

Great video! I'm hoping to go wild camping around this area in the next day or two.
