Because of you doing this experiment, I ended up changing my rates too. I love these Bubby rates. Your first challenge came right as I was experimenting with slowing down my rates, but not this slow until your video. Thanks for sharing.
10:10 in the video, 3 or 4 weeks ago I chopped off a bit of the tip of my thumb off trying to unplug my quad. Controller slipped and hit arm. Now I have a prearm and I put my throttle to the up position before I do anything. Im gonna make a video on it soon.
Looking smooth Bro. If I'm not mistaken I do fly your rates when you shared them with me almost a year ago. I still fly them and love it. I need to get up in the air soon as the boat's just about ready 🤙🏻
Yeah, I can't remember for sure, but I think you might be right. They are really low rates.. I shared the KISS version as well in the comments on the video from a year ago.
Do it! They're listed in the description. Be warned they are low... Pick a spot you're familiar with when starting out. After you adjust, I think you'll find you like them... But it definitely changes how you fly a little
@@StacemanFPV I seen them in the description, I think I'll throw them on a profile and try em out. I've flown a couple packs here and there, I'm still rusty as it gets lol but having fun when I do get in the air. I need to find time to get a couple flying videos up, got a couple somewhat usable clips from Florida and from my farm house.
@@StacemanFPV thanks Staceman and hopefully I'll get a video of trying them out and if I can get setup good enough, do a little talking about how it initially feels. Thing is my own rates and tune feel alien to me where I go so long between flights so I may take right to the new new rates lol, hopefully anyways.
You're right about those lower rates. I've been flying the stock 4.3 rates and I feel more comfortable doing rolls closer to the ground as to my 927 rate. Trying new things this year with the rates also. Definitely smoother flying.
Hi Stacey, just watched this video. Yes I did wonder if your flying style had changed. So not so much slow, but appears like your reactions are slow because of the lower rates I suspect. To the viewer it does look like quad response is slower, which to me is almost like when I tried flting default in DRL simulator.
Hi mate. I'm flying around 900 "Actual rates" but I'm more interesting in flying "Flow" as a style and adjusting my rates I think will help me get there. I prefer to use "Actual rates" and I was wondering how I can convert Bubbys rates to Actual rates? Any help would be appreciated mate! Thanks. Ant
@@StacemanFPV I found a site that converts them over to "Actual rates" and WOW! These rates are killer. They are actually more sensitive in the centre sticks than I was using with my 900 rates which was a surprise. He just has less expo than I had. I was worried it wouldn't be as responsive enough so when I realised it was very similar and possibly a little more sensitive I was happy, but best of all the outer sticks at 400deg is way better. 900deg was just too unpredictable. Now I do a roll or a dive and I don't overshoot and over correct like I was doing with 900. Now I can land a roll or dive and flow straight on without any major corrections. I'll never go back to my old rates again. What a difference! The only thing I changed was the Yaw. I like to have my Pitch, Roll and Yaw all the same as I've already built up that muscle memory. Thanks again for the video. Subbed!
It's no different. In fact most racers use very low rates, and they are flying very tight courses. When you use high rates, you're not using the full stick most times. Record your sticks when you fly, and you'll see. With low rates, you use more of your stick, which gives you more resolution, which lets you fly more precisely.
@@StacemanFPV Thank you 🙌, I will definitely give your suggestion a try. Your video is the 1st talking about using low rates. I have been struggling with default rates which I suspect is too high to allow more stick. Good point you made about other racers, as I cam see they move their sticks through a big range, but their flying somehow still remains smooth and well controlled without being too erratic.
@@nappyfpv nah it's not too hard... Just have to get used to using more stick and better timing.. Granted there are a few things that you can't do but in general I find that those are not things that's interesting to watch back if your quad has to move that fast to pull them off. I would wager if someone found lower rates too slow they probably had to much super rate and/or too much expo, flattening it out in the middle too much. At the far end of my stick it's around 450 ish on roll and 440 on pitch.. That's 1.25 rotations per second which is plenty enough I think..
@@StacemanFPV idk I wasn’t as experienced then but the ceiling wasn’t that tall. I might be able to do it now. I think my pitch and roll were in the 500s and my yaw 400

Faster = twitchy = not great to watch back
I love low rates. Im at the low 400s. It started because of racing but works perfectly fine with freestyle too when i got used to it.

Nice :)

That's a good question... I'll see what I can find or at the very least, I'll play with it in BF to match the curves and degrees per second

I don't think low rates would be safe flying inside a small house, as you need to make fast response cornering sometimes 🤣

That’s some slow rates. Mine are 400 yaw about 700 pitch and roll
