Seth, what you said at 15:27 about the American absence on the international stage and it bringing anxiety to nations like South Korea is 100% true. I am one of the 40,000 Americans who currently live in South Korea and this anxiety has been voiced to me by many Korean friends over the past couple of years since living here. Also, since living here, I have never been more grateful to be an American.
A little known fact about Cristopher Cross is he’s a heck of a guitar player, on par with his good friend Eric Johnson. In 1970 he sat in for Deep Purple when Richie Blackmore got sick while in Texas. Take a listen to the outro on Ride Like the Wind…he’s shredding away like he stole the guitar.
It's funny because even Australia had a constitutional crisis. Not recently but in 1975, when the Prime Minister was the Labour leader Gough Whitlam. He had a majority in the House of Representatives, but not in the Senate. The latter blocked his budget, and he was going to call for a double dissolution, where all representatives and senators were to go on election (like in the US a regular election would have all the representatives but just a section of the senate up for election). The Governor General however, dismissed the Prime Mnister and called for the leader of the opposition, Malcolm Fraser, to form a caretaker government until new elections were called. Elections were held a few weeks later and Fraser won. The episode is remembered still DOwn Under and it is source of controversies. But it was able to defuse due to the institutional strengths of the country and its parliamentary system. In the end, the voters ratified the decision of the Governor General.
Hegseths biggest problem is that he's equipped to run a 5 and dime while Defense is a 650 billion dollar enterprise. Let me edit this snark. I like the guy. He's going to need people within Defense to help him operate the business end. He's a fantastic idea guy and will get things moving toward something that looks like a military but it's a HUGE HUGE operation. Putting Pompao in a serious headlock with extra noogies to return to the job would be my first choice.

Re: Pete Hegseth confirmation - when people voted for Trump, they knew he'd bring the type of people with him who'd make change, like Hegseth. We didn't vote for 'go along to get along people'. We voted for change. These republican senators need to be careful about getting 'picky', or they're going to have problems with the Trump voters.
