  • I started this project a few years back when we planned on getting married out at my wife’s parents place. We ultimately decided to go a different way and get married lakeside at our favourite camping spot. The project got sidelined for a few years after setting the main logs in. This passed summer as I got back into woodworking and found my drive again, I carved a second eagle and got back to work. The property I’m building this gazebo on is hands down my favourite property I’ve ever been on, and having the ability to not only spend time creating, but to be able to leave my mark is beyond words. I wish I could have gotten it done before we lost Papa aka Rollie as I know he was excited and helped gather almost all the logs used on this project. And a huge shout out to Nana aka Linda for putting up with what we all started to call woodhenge for the last couple years as it was just these big logs standing in a circle. I got as much I as I could get done late summer and into fall and am excited to get back out there once the snow has gone. I hope you enjoy this build, It has been a blessing and an honour creating this in such a special place. I gotta thank my kids and grandkids as well as my nieces & nephews for all the help and visits, my wife for coming out like she’s mentally in sync with my need for a break and refreshments, my brother in law Greg for lending his tractor and input, Nana for all her support & the whole family for the encouragement & without a doubt I wanna thank Papa for being the mvp scouting, harvesting and hauling almost all the logs used. It’s a big undertaking and I’ve learned a lot along the way. I can’t wait for the snow to be gone so I can get back out there and finish this project.
