Dallin, I served in Georgia 2 years ago. At the end of my mission I had strep throat 6 times in a 3 month time frame. It was exhausting to be sick so much and feel like I wasn’t doing enough. I finished my mission, but barely. They almost sent me home early. On the very last day of my mission I got sick again. I can relate to your experience and I know that it is hard to accept that it’s over. I still miss it every. single. day. But what’s so important is taking what you learned and applying it to your life now. We are still missionaries even if our service didn’t end the way we expected it to.
I never served a mission as I am a convert baptised 2016 but then left the church in 2019 but getting rebaptised soon .. I just want to say I agree with you once someone said to me that when you take the name badge off your jacket you are know only wearing it in your heart man . All of us are missionarys even ppl coming back into the gospel or inactive as ppl always follow so let us be the example for them to follow until they realize that they can follow christ themselves

He is very lucky, of course he is young so it helps. My Dad was 83. Oxygen, and heart problems. Covid took his life in 5 days. Just a month ago. Covid can be so scary and with the other strains out, it can be touchy if he has underlying problems. Thank you for your service! GO COUGARS!!!!!

My household had the coronavirus back in March and at Easter my stepdad got knocked back and ever since has been struggling with long COVID, but at the same time it’s saved my stepdads life as he had multiple tests and they found out he had Cancer on September 15th, and due to COVID we caught it very early and he no longer had cancer from November 2nd, we were very lucky Hope Dallin feels better soon, glad he’s hope and can properly rest and take it easy

Do they know why it was so bad in your case? I really hope you will get better and that both your lungs and your heart will heal 100%. I'm going to guess why and say I think it was worse for Dallin because he has asthma already and so getting covid for him would be double bad because of that.
Dallin really does seem a bit fatigued. I’m wondering how the increase in altitude from MO to UT has impacted his lung function. It’s difficult even when people are healthy, so with pneumonia it must be worse.Thoughts?
Will Dallin be wearing oxygen tubes at the dental office? That seems like the right thing to do for his safety and long term health. I hope his doctor recommends that. Dallin doesn’t seem like he gets stressed very much, but I know people with anxiety can sometimes have breathing problems. Has he learned safety breathing techniques for when he does get stressed that can help him in bad situations? I had a trauma when I was 29 and developed bad PTSD for a about the year following. Breathing techniques really helped me not panic or go into shutdown mode and it helped regulate my overall health. I think those breathing and mindfulness techniques could help him with his condition when he is in a bad spot too. I’m guessing relaxation techniques and breathing skills people with MS have could help him too. Yoga helped me a lot and mediating helped me be conscious of how my mind and body were reacting and performing throughout the day. I recommend those things for Dallin so he can be more in tune with his body and breathing. Of course, he’ll have to do very light yoga for now but there are videos out there for that where you don’t move around much. And there are yoga and meditation videos that focus more on breathing and being aware of your body. Good luck with everything. Oh, and I forgot to add something. I know LDS members usually don’t drink caffeine but a lot do. However, I stopped drinking caffeine for a while to help regulate my heart beat and my breathing as well. It personally helped me and I noticed a difference when I did have caffeine sometimes. Just something to think about but it’s not as important as the mindfulness or breathing techniques. I think Dallin will have after effects of this for a very long time and possibly throughout his life, so I highly recommend he consults with his doctor about wearing oxygen in the office. You can look up yoga for body awareness or yoga for breathing videos on RUclips. Or yoga for when you are sick. There are a ton of specialized videos. I also listened to the Guided Meditation playlist on Spotify. There are a lot of meditations just for breathing and body awareness. It’s helpful.
I get it. I had it 4 weeks ago and I’m still struggling but no one really understands because my whole family had it when I did and no one else still has any significant issues.
