At long last I have finally updated my leopard gecko care here on this channel. The last one I posted was in 2018, which feels like ages ago. I am thrilled to say this is the most comprehensive leopard gecko care guide I have ever seen! While I am confident that newbies will be set with just my information alone, I recommend checking out other care guides. Please use the timestamps and links below, and don't forget to check out the playlist for more in-depth videos about certain care topics.
*I FORGOT TO INCLUDE THE CALCIUM BIT* If you watch the video, there's a small part where I mention having written calcium on my hand to remind myself to add a little bit to the calcium part. What I forgot to add is that you can keep a small dish of calcium in the leopard gecko enclosure. This should be calcium WITHOUT D3. My apologies!

I'm looking to get a leopard gecko. There is a reptile store near me. It is a family owned businesses, this is their only location. All the reviews say that they were amazing and the store looked clean. Their website says that they work with 40 local breeders. They sound really really amazing, should I go with them?

i feel like most people with leopard geckos never go out seeking a leopard gecko but somehow end up having one😂 my boy was given to me by my roommate who moved across the country and couldn’t take him. the set up she had him in was very small and he only had one hide and a heat lamp. I upgraded his tank, hides, got him a heating mat, switched up his diet, did a lot of research and tried my best but I realized that there are some things I’m doing wrong and new ideas available (like with heating and lighting) and because of your videos I can make his life better☺️ thank you so much, your videos are so informative

That’s really great to hear. I’m just getting back into keeping leopard geckos (just 1, so gecko and not geckos) and I’m definitely planning to go bioactive. She’s in quarantine now, and a bit young but I think I’m going to go bioactive in her 20 long YET when my ball python gets his new enclosure in several weeks, I’m going to retrofit his 36 x 24 x 24 into a bioactive gecko enclosure. I really hope this girl loves to stretch her legs because I’m going to go crazy dialing in that big pvc enclosure soon

After owning mine for awhile realized that a 20gal is definitely the smallest as they grow up. They get big quick at least in my experience. I have a 29 gallon and they do use the space. I would highly recommend if you can to get a bigger tank as they grow very fast.

Watched it all! (in four sittings). Amazing video and I think I'm going to watch again and take some notes. I appeared in your comments a few days back deliberating whether to go leopard or crested for a first reptile, and I'm now going down the leopard route with a view to adding a crested next year if all goes well. Initially I had big plans for an arid bioactive set-up, but now I'm being more realistic and starting with linoleum flooring. Shopping starts next week. Thank you so much for helping me plan this.

Hi, some great points and a useful video care guide. As always, our focus as keepers must always be to improve animal welfare and the way to do this is to research and then emulate the long developed 'need' of every species through well planned and maintained naturalism. After all, it has taken x million years for each species to reach the developmental stage that it is in right now, this is totally dictated by its environment in the wild and the species relationship with that environment. I enjoyed watching this J C-S

My leopard gecko has cost a lot just for the basics and I will still have to upgrade the size of his terrarium cause I just have the 20 gallon front open terrarium right now. My LG cost $80 and $45 to ship but I feel that’s fair from a well known breeder and I know his lineage

Thank you for this really elaborate video! The first few Google results told me that have to feed my gecko 40-50 dubia's a week.... I was giving mine like 10-15 a week and she was getting kinda chubby, so i felt like i should feed less, but i was confused by those websites saying i should feed way more. I only have two leos, one a baby I just got yesterday but my 1 year old male is hilarious. Dead to the world during the day, could not care less what I'm doing even if I go into his enclosure to change his water or add decor or something. Do the same things after 7pm? All up in my business closely supervising giving my hand licks. It's hilarious.
My local reptile/aquarium shop won't sell leos or most snakes into vivs with heat mats, they insist on overhead heating, which I thought was really interesting!

Hello Jessica! Your video are amazing and deserve 100k likes and not only 2k. I'm getting ready for my first gecko and I have some questions regarding your video, in case you could andswer for me: 1 - You said you shouldn't give insects bigger than the space between the Gecko's eyes, but in one part of the video I saw you giving a worm almost twice the size of the space of yours. Does this apply only for juveniles? 2 - Isn't dangerous to use paper towel or the kitchen liner as substrate because of the heat from the matt or the bulbes/DHP? I know that the temperature is not enough to ignite fire, but there is any risk of melting or something more dangerous with those substrates, or even cork and plastic plants? Sorry about the silly questions and thanks again.
