- On Saturday 4th June 2022, the Isle of Man TT Races fuelled by Monster Energy returned. Kick starting the first race, Peter Hickman appears to be starting as he means to go on as he lead the six-lap RST Superbike race from start to finish on his Gas Monkey Garage by FHO Racing BMW.
Meanwhile it was all eyes on the Honda Racing UK team mates, as John McGuinness MBE completed his 100th race start, and the hotly anticipated newcomer had the spectators in awe, as he set a new record for the fastest ever newcomer.

hicky got to be the best all round rider in the uk/europe at the moment ,short circuits, irish roads and the TT what a rider.
I agree he is great but it takes a team to be on that level everyone on their game all at the same time
Gets my Adrenaline through the roof just watching.

Congrats to Hicky. I got a great shot of the Hickster on the island back in 2017 at the test track in Jurby. Loved my time on the island. Truly magical experience.

You got your bikes mixed up for the TT . The bikes don’t use team colours. Unless you are officially sponsored by them. The green bike is a BMW and the blue one is Kawasaki

Raced at club level for years, and national for one year; thought I was great. I wouldn't and couldn't get through half a lap of this place. Madness and bravery blurred.
Wow what a way to get the TT back underway after 3 years Peter Hickman 133.1mph from a standing start that is insane and can anyone stop Tom and Ben they won here for the past 6 years and it’s probably going to be 7 And new lap record in the process

Obviously we all knew that Hickman would be fast but not on the first lap that’s not normal for him normally he does it at least on lap 3 onwards unless he has certain Dean Harrison up his ass lol

He is absolutely incredible but what he done in the superstock race is even madder he started 10th and yet again destroyed the field And had a 11 second lead at the moment the only thing faster than Peter Hickman is the SR-71 Blackbird I think everyone is now fighting for second place whenever he races He’s the road race version of Valentino Rossi completely blew everyone away I wonder how big his lead will be in the Senior race and will his lap record go
Everything just was falling into place for Peter Hickman. What a helluva day that man had! Quick as fuck, Hickman was... well done man. Great race dude!

I am new to watching TT, never seen anything like it. Watched a few documentaries during Covid. I cannot believe this allowed in our health and safety overkill society. I am going to try go see it next year in the flesh. 🤘

That'd be doing it at HALF the speed he's doing, which is extremely doable even on something like a big scooter
@@laobbie Seriously. 1000 seconds is ALOT. the circuit is 60km long, which means losing 16 seconds per kilometer to Hickman.
I won the Finnish open class SBK championship last year... I lose about 4-5 seconds to the absolute track record on my superbike on every Finland's racetracks... and since they are about 3,5km long, it means losing 1,3s/km... and that is ALOT. What you are talking about is losing 10x more for every single kilometer.
Honestly bro, 16s/km is so much that you seriously can keep up with it by not even trying.
I know IoM is "omg super deadly wow mega" but 16s/km is NOTHING literally. Just to give you perspective.
To put it in another way : 16s/km means that if Hickman averages 217km/h (means he is doing by average 16.5s/km) and you lose 16s/km, that means your average speed drops down to HALF. Which means your lap will be 109km/h which is the less than the speed of the guided sighting lap of the new riders in IoM.

Yay to everyone else but the TT+ Live Pass definitely needs a lot of polish.
Couldn’t watch some events.
Especially in the beginning.
When an even is live if your late you can’t stream the beginning of the show and have to wait until it’s all over.
Lots and lots of cues got messed up. People got cut off mid sentence especially some things that I really wanted to hear.
The audio was horrible in the first qualifying. The connection has been in and out at times.
I hope they improve well for next year.

@@TankToChest yeah mishaps happen, that I've seen as well that happens everywhere because commentators have cheats to read from what happens next but camera regie who are responsible for what camera view we see at a moment are different people and sometimes people miss communicate, happens pretty much everywhere even in F1.... For Sound and picture problems which happen sometimes for maybe 1-3 seconds, just think about where they are.... In the Irish see in the middle of nowhere.... Trying to cover a full track live which is like 15km in diameter with literally forests and mountains in between..... Thats normal happens on a stream like 24h Nürburgring as well.... Track is huge there as well but these problems are unsolvable.... They stream that for 15 years now, if they couldn't fix these problems today iomtt team won't get it first try..... But no technicals for me, sound is OK for me I don't get cut out, I can wind back to where ever I want so player doesn't make problems on my side. I can wind back to where ever I want when it's live and also when it gets uploaded after 👍🏻

The field is arguably stronger than its ever been. Any of those who dropped out due to machine failures could have been on the podium. I must say, I’d expected Hicky or Dean to secure top spot.
One of the things I’ve always liked about TT is the individuals are rarely up themselves & those who are can be annoying. I can only recall Foggy being quite hard to listen to, though he was particularly awesome at his peak.
Love listening to John & Hutchy especially. I know they’re all committed. But what Hutchy has tolerated to make today’s 4th possible is unbelievable. 50 operations on his lower leg.
John has such a longevity at TT, is it beyond others? He’s still blisteringly fast in absolute terms, it’s just that the bench of fast riders is very deep right now. Again, has the field ever been this rich? Augers well for continuation of road racing & particularly the TT.
The world would be a degraded place if there was no more road racing & IOM TT.
There’s NOTHING like this where you pit yourself again a dangerous environment & the only way to beat others is to be as skilled as your competitors & get closer to the edge without crashing.
Reckless won’t do it. Fast won’t do it. Consistency essential. It’s a blend I don’t understand but I see deep knowledge, confidence born of experience & practise, super skills & reactions, balls, yet enough risk radar not to kill yourself.

Apart from the one death in practise sessions. Just tragic. But each rider knows that one thing wrong when tipping it in & it goes straight on, that can be curtains.
Several high speed locations where they say if you’ve an off there, 9 times out of 10, it’ll be a fatal.
I genuinely don’t understand how they manage the high speed direction changes. When it works & the pilot judges it to perfection, hitting 3-4 apexes, it looks metronomic. Look at the on-board & realise you’ve to be fully committed. Super impressive.
I watched this race from St Andrews church (just after the grandstand) you could tell Hicky was quick from the get go. Awesome race, perfect weather and a great buzz from everyone watching.
Can’t see anyone beating Hickman on the other 2 big bike races yet to run.

I consider this the Senior TT race…absolutely ridiculous decision to cut actual Senior TT to 4 laps…it akin to saying the Heavyweight championship is only over 8 rds because of scheduling problems 🤦♂️😡🤯
I wonder if they'd consider opening a new class in the TT. I ride a 50cc Honda melody complete with back box. I reckon I'd be rather swift around this circuit with it being road not track.
