Prior to Baby Boy Omar always has these nerdy funny guy type characters so I guess he needed that little push from Singleton to show his greatness in being a dramatic artist. It definitely worked becuz he played the fucked out of that Sweet Pea role.
To be honest I love his character in Baby Boy. Great Actor that I could trust in a romantic lead or him in a serious drama. He's that good and his smile is great, like Dad's.
Always thought they should've had a moment where those two characters got into it. Old gangsta vs. Young gangsta. Feel like they missed an opportunity, but I guess that wasn't the purpose of the story.
Pea would’ve tried to kill Melvin if Jody gave him the green light. But I think the “guns & butter” scene made Pea realize quick that Melvin was an old wolf who was not to be fucked with lol.
@@MVRBFree Sweetpea respected Melvin's intelligence after he gave him useful life advice for free. In many ways Pea was more mature than Jody. Pea was ready to take Melvin out but he still listened to the wisdom that Melvin shared. Not to mention Pea was always on guard around Melvin (and everybody else that wasn't Jody, Jody's mom and/or family) so Melvin wasn't gonna catch him slipping like he did Jody when he choked him out. Pea probably reminded Melvin a lot of himself when he was young and dumb.
Maaaan! I remember when he was on that Nickelodeon show called "Wild n Crazy Kids." The next time I saw him he was on "Baby Boy." The characters are like night and day. He played that role very well. The entire did a great job in their acting roles.
