Fun fact: Everytime WINNER covers a song, they make sure to give it their own color. MINO and HOONY always change the rap verses and write their own.
Okay, so YOON definitely killed it! His voice has this mature and sophisticated sound, and his delivery is amazing.
It's like he is telling a story with his emotions.
MINO's rap has double/triple meanings. He actually referenced each BIGBANG members in the verse and at the same time relate it to himself and how he felt for his hyungs, BIGBANG.
The subtitles doesn't really do justice to MINO's lyrics.
He is really known for his witty verse and wordplay added to his unorthodox flow. JUST PURE GENIUS!

Mino’s rap here is lyrical genius, some lines could have 3 different meanings. He makes references to Bigbang members and writes about the subject from his own perspective in the industry and watching Bigbang.
Yep Mino wrote his own rap for this cover. Actually, there is also triple meaning too.
He is talking about his perspective of Big Bang (their mentors/big brothers who supported and gave them advice since they were trainees) story. He was well aware of their rise to fame, success, paving the way for the new generations, and their struggles. He empathizes and understand because he is also along with WINNER is in this kind of cut throat music industry. It is not very kind and you have to be strong, but you still get wounded and hurt. So some lyrics really referenced BIG BANG’s STILL LIFE MV..GD’s umbrella..there’s also mentioned of moon (again wordplay/double meaning in Mino’s rap) that relates to TOP. “No more PRAY, No more PLAY” related to Taeyang and his bible verse in his MV scene and also Taeyang is a man of faith, very religious. “Overlap with myself” can be reference to Daesung taking a photo and he’s looking at himself..and he morphs into his recent self. There is a connection you know?
He can also be alluding to his thoughts about his humble beginnings to struggles to debut, debut success, hiatuses, losing a member in 2016, WINNER re-inventing themselves as 4 members and coming back stronger in 2017, to continued success, and non-stop working since then.
This also can be Mino and Yoon’s foreshadowing of their impending military enlistment later this year for Mino and next year for Yoon. Yoon can possibly enlist this year too, so they can come back at the same time like Jinwoo and Hoony did when they enlisted. Jinwoo and Hoony both enlisted in April 2020 came back this past Jan 2022 and WINNER fulfilled their promise in having a full group comeback. So, maybe Mino and Yoon will do the same?? Maybe? But yeah..we should enjoy that WINNER is active and still promoting right now. Let’s not focus on what will happen in the future.

Thanks for reacting. When winner does covers, they usually give it their own spin. They are that talented. Yoon and Mino are known to be great composers/producers. I especially love their rendition of Bigbang’s Haru-Haru from their Japan concert. Winner’s discography is so diverse if you listen to ther b-sides. The B-side is where the gems are. You can definitely see their artistry. Some say they dont have that yg hiphop vibe but they don’t have to though as 3 out of 4 members are composers so they can definitely create their own genre. They are known for being summer kings but I personally love their slower songs as their vocal prowess shines through. If you watch their killing voice performance, you’ll kinda see how diverse their music is.

WINNER known as a self produced group, rappers always write their rap parts, and, of course, some of the group songs are written by MINO and HOONY. But the main producer of the group is YOON (Kang Seungyoon, main vocalist and the youngest). So yeah, you are right, MINO wrote those lyrics himself!
There are so many group songs you’ll check out, I guess, but hope you’ll have time to watch their solo stuff too. MINO and YOON’s solo albums are brilliant. MINO has 3 full albums (XX, TAKE, TO INFINITY) and YOON got 1 named PAGE. Absolutely no skip
