Y'all had ample opportunity to Fox 3 on those Mirages, even if just for defensive purposes. You had the altitude, you had the speed, even if you were heavy. Maybe a wider combat spread might have helped? Over SPAAMing as well? I'm sorry you got hit; it does suck when all that work goes for naught.
Thanks for both the comment and feedback. I agree, we should have (and normally do) smoked those guys pretty easily. The video was really posted for a couple of reasons. It shows what happens when things start breaking down and showcases how quickly things can break down. It also serves as a learning lesson for my guys in the 122nd. We had a pretty good debrief using this material and tacview & we'll be better for it the next time. Thanks again man.
