Recently saw a very somber but heartwarming ceremonial laying to rest for a fallen American volunteer fighting on the Bakhmut frontlines, and have even seen Zelenskyy personally thanking the US and other Countries' foreign volunteers. Throwing money in lethal aid at a country is one thing, but having people volunteer to fight for a country that isn't their own is something else, and I know that at least those fighting alongside foreigners are more than grateful. Slava Ukraini, Heroiam Slava

I understand the pain and heartache, and I really wish it could end tomorrow. Thanks to the wars in the middle east I don't know many who weren't affected. My own brother has severe PTSD as does a childhood friend from their time in Afghanistan and Iraq respectively. If there was an easy answer I'd implore my nation (US) to act on it.
No, the Budapest memorandum is not a joke to us here in the US, not at all. Since they invaded Crimea we've sent non-lethal military aid, including bullet proof vests and other PPO for the military. We also started the joint training with Ukrainian forces. We did not send immediate offensive weapons in 2014 because we did not want to cause a war in Ukraine to breakout then, we didn't want you to be ground zero for that guy's ego (the russian Stalinist asshole). We did what we could to try and help you prepare and be able to defend yourselves should it happen again. We all hoped that would be enough to dissuade that guy.
But sadly, the truth is, all he's wanted is to reform the Soviet Union by force under his rule all while he meddles and tampers in other nations covertly (mine included) causing strife and infighting. I'm not even sure that us giving you back replacement nuclear arms would have stopped his evil ambition.
With that said I fully support giving you F-16s and more modern machines as well as any aid in any other form possible. I get D.C.'s reluctance, we do not want you to become ground zero for nuclear attacks, but if it were me I'd want boots on the ground with our forces fighting directly with yours now, today, and to not let a thug like that Russian guy try and strong arm compliance via invasion and brutality.
There is a brief report of aid that had been sent as of the report's date. You'll have to google "crsreports congress aid to ukraine" and a link from February 2023 should show up, it's a PDF in English, I'm unsure if it's something that is easy to translate or not. I can't post the link directly because youtube flags and removes them almost immediately any more.
God bless you all, you're a very strong people and you did not deserve any of this for refusing to be Putin the Pitiful's puppet state. Slava Ukraine. I pray this all ends soon.

Ukraine was provided support and training since 2014. To say that no support was given at the beginning is an insult to America and all those countries who have provided support for all of these years.

I hope this horror will end soon and we will live a normal life in free and beloved Ukraine, thank you, I know how the Americans support us, because part of my family has been living in New York for a long time, and we are very grateful to you❤️

I've been to Ukraine and the people all treated me with kindness, but yeah there were things I saw that caught me off guard because the cultures are so different. I have friends who fall in the "we should be helping our own and not Ukraine" but I argue that if we don't then who is next? How many mass graves and war crimes will it have to take for you to realize that someone has to help? One of them is someone I have been friends with for over 40 years and his family came here from South Korea. I mean...if it wasn't for UN and US support they wouldn't exist as they do now.

He keeps saying that American Ukrainian culture is very different, but he never goes into detail. Does anyone know what the differences are? Also, it’s good to keep in mind that America doesn’t really have an American culture we have like 10+ different cultures crammed into one nation. The culture in California is different from the culture in like rural Georgia and that’s different from Florida and that’s different from Maine so on and so forth.

I have not met too many people (Americans) who were against helping Ukraine. Even the least educated people in the US do not like Russia for many reasons. As Americans we should not beat the Ukrainians over the head with the fact that we supported them. Their heartfelt gratitude is enough and should be appreciated by all Americans.

I've seen soldiers in Ukraine with swatikas on their uniforms, that's funny because Zelinski is jewish, no wonder they throw Ukraine priests in prison, so I don't favor them, neither the Russians but Ukraine was supposed to stay neutral from Nato so Russia wouldn't have their whole border lined with Nato countries and I don't want the old farts in Washington making money off the deaths of Ukraines and Russians

You are both Ukrainian and American. Both cultures are part of you, especially as long as you've been in America. The US isn't a singular people, it never was. So it's not like you have to be of a certain birthright or bloodline to become a part of it. There are those racist xenophobic people here sure, but they only speak for their own small mind, not what it means to be American.
But bless Ukraine. Our help would mean nothing without the strong hearts and bravery the Ukrainians have shown. Ukraine was part of that guys larger Stalinistic plan to conquer the world in concert with China, Iran, and North Korea. The latter 3 let Russia test the waters and backtracked once it became clear Ukraine would not fall, NATO would not collapse, and the US would not stand on the sideline doing nothing. Authoritarians think they are Gods, but God is always on the side of the little guy, even if only through the strength to stand up and survive day by day.
