I've not watched the whole video but you can trade with the house of wisdom of a dead player, so I think there was one in the very south of the first game. Also if its destroyed you can repair it and then trade with it.
Same can be done with chamber of commerce with the french

Can't you trade with your own markets? Thought you could or is it for less?
Forced vassalage game mode could be cool, starts as ffa, but when you defeat an opponent, they get forced allied to you as a vassal.
Instead of forcing it would be more interesting to have the choice to pay for vassalage of a player when take down the last landmark, or just to just raze it to get ressources.
But the vassal player could free himself by buying his freedom.

I worry some of these FFA games are starting to drag on far too long - might it be worth putting rules in place or limiting player numbers to keep the games fluid?
