    Well, I'm just back from my cell phone store where I added an iPad to my account. Markup R-XP is hard to use on my phone. Thanks for telling us about their RUclips channel. I've had to learn on my own, and now will learn it's more advanced functions. Also thanks for the info on silk thread twist. I'm a spinner too, so that makes perfect sense!

    Beautiful stitching! I've only done pattern with a page break. I don't do large projects, so it wasn't too bad. I just cut the page, and taped them together.

    Thank you for sharing your projects. I have recently downloaded MarkupR-XP but don't have PDF patterns yet. I am so glad you mentioned that, with a little perseverance we can manipulate scanned patterns. I do not have a scanner at this time so will have to reach out to my UPS Store. Your Mary Morgan Sampler is gorgeous. I can understand how you loved every colorful stitch. Thank you for helping me better understand the different Silk Threads available. New subscriber !! 😄

    I’m watching!!! And I am laughing because before you said that, I was thinking HOLY COW THAT LOOKS SO GOOD ON MURKY and thinking how it lends itself to bright colors like Mary and Thirza!!! Now I need to find all the bright samplers and try them on Murky 🤣

    I downloaded Markup X P recently and haven't really become familiar with it yet. It seems great and has some features that Pattern Keeper doesn't have. But I do love pattern keeper and use it every day. It was a game changer. It does have some shortcomings and not every pdf pattern works in it which is why I downloaded markup XP.
    Great flosstube. Thank you!

    HI HI! GREAT STUFF! I like to complete the border first. If you can bite the bullet and make peace with it, lol, it may change things for you. The repetition becomes medicinal. Making sure it meets is the reward too. I have a couple samplers I have done that had a different border on each side which cuts down on the repeat.

    • @samplerstyle
      @samplerstyle  Год назад

      I think I'm going to stitch the "bones" of the border for Mary Ann Copp. Thanks for the suggestion! 💕

    Depends on what Au Ver A Soie you are using. D'Alger is what I think you are talking about and yes it's loose. 100/3 & Gobelins and Surfine are spun differently ie more tightly and comes on spools. Much handier. Love Gobelins. Katie Strachan has a two part special video on Au Ver A Soie silks, the different types, when and how to use them. It's taught me so much. Think you'd love it.

    I love the fabric choice for the Mary Morgan, absolutely fantastic! I just got done with a dragon piece on my own channel that I used 20 year old fabric for. I think I struggle with using special or nice fabric because it's "too good" to use, but I'm slowly getting over that and attempting to use my more nice fabric.

    Enjoyed hearing how you use the mark up app. I love stitching from pdf too. I just use the Apple file app where you can also mark off as you stitch, I use my finger to do this. Though it does use a lot of battery. Beautiful stitching and your floss tubes are always very interesting.

    Hi Sharon. Just found you!! So inspiring. I have similar experience with Markup R-XP. not sure I describe myself as techy. Just determined!! And not afraid to push buttons to see what it does. I honestly don’t think I would be cross stitching if I had to use paper charts. My only pet peeve is designers that are scared of PDF’s. Looking forward to your next episode.

    • @samplerstyle

      Oh yes, determination is half the battle with Tech. Agreed with paperless! I'm paperless with all things, not just cross stitch. ♥️

    Hello! I purchased the Mark up XP as well. I wish you could draw a thin line through the completed stitches and not have to block out the entire stitch, ss I use those for “reference”. I went back to Good Notes. Have you tried that one? It’s free 👍

    Hi- I just subscribed. Very interesting video to watch. Thank you, for all your skills.You do beautiful work. I have not been able to cross stitch, bc I have a hard time seeing the small squares on the linen. Can you tell me the kind of magnifying glasses that you wear to cross stitch with? Maybe, these will help me too. Thank you again, for all your tips and information. I subscribed to your other channel too. Many blessings! 🌺

      Thanks and welcome! I use bifocals that I got from the optometrist. I brought my stitching, and we measured the focal lengths that I needed to see the linen. The bifocal strength that I have is a +6. I can see 40 count easily when I bring it close. (about 8 inches away). I like bifocals because then I can see my computer monitor or iPad when I want to watch content while stitching. Pricier than drugstore glasses, but SO worth it. I talk about this a bit more in episode 15. I can't use round magnifiers, they make me queasy.

      What is your budget? iPads can be very pricey. Here is a mid-tier one that is very fast and would be great with the Markup RXP app. It has the same power as mine, and it's the same size. Amazon usually offers them a bit cheaper than the Apple website and they are brand new. (don't get the cellular, you won't need it.) Here's a link: www.amazon.com/2022-Apple-iPad-10-9-inch-Wi-Fi/dp/B09V3HN1KC/ref=pd_ci_mcx_mh_mcx_views_0?pd_rd_w=t5VL7&content-id=amzn1.sym.0250fb24-4363-44d0-b635-ac15f859c3b5%3Aamzn1.symc.40e6a10e-cbc4-4fa5-81e3-4435ff64d03b&pf_rd_p=0250fb24-4363-44d0-b635-ac15f859c3b5&pf_rd_r=WKVTQ8JW8CFHKYS0KEQP&pd_rd_wg=CGL3w&pd_rd_r=4a49b5b8-4343-41b1-b3cb-8d07f8522f67&pd_rd_i=B09V3HN1KC

    When you scan a chart with multiple pages how do you get them all together in mark up? I have Mark up but I am not sure how to get all the pages in one file. Ty in advance

    • @samplerstyle
      @samplerstyle  3 месяца назад

      When I do my scan I scan the pages into one document. I use a Mac and there's an app I use called "Image Capture". It will put pages into one document if you check that option. I you have single pages scanned, I think you would have to use a pdf manager that allows you to combine the pages into one document for import. I looked up to see if you can add pages to projects already in Markup RXP but I couldn't find any information how to do this. I'm linking the developer's RUclips channel. He also has a Facebook page and I'm sure he would answer your question. Good luck! www.youtube.com/@markuprxp
