My grandmother used to tell me stories about coming to Oklahoma in a covered wagon. I was only 6 at the time so I wasn’t really into hearing them. NOW, I wish I had paid more attention & could remember them. I don’t even know if she was still a child or already grown when she came. I was born & spent my early years in Osage county.
I was born and raised in Oklahoma and have always been interested in our state history. Your videos are educational for me as I learn new things with each one. Keep them coming. Thanks.
Mr. Taylor, watching your videos brings to mind an epitaph I once read in a Logan County, Oklahoma, long-forgotten country graveyard where my great grandparents are buried. The grave was that of a young lady who had died around the turn of the 20th century. "Consider, friend, as you pass by: As you are now, so once was I. As I am now, you too shall be. Prepare for death and follow me."
No, its long gone. It was located in far southwest Osage county, just across the Arkansas River from Pawnee county, appropriately called the Belford Bridge, built in 1927. All that remains of the school are steps and cellar. The steps are shown in the video at the 2:20 mark
Very nice, I think the folksy music is good too. Makes me just think of my Dad and how it must have been when he lived in this area. I wish he were still alive to see these videos. The stories it might have brought up, but then, he never seemed to want to talk about his past much. Thanks for posting!

Echos in my mind. I understand this place.
Nice picture of FrankFort! I was sad when I learned The Osage Nation had lost John Francis Murphy. They don't make them like that any more!
Do you know if the Belford School building is still standing? If so, the location?

beautiful video, who is the woman singing? really reminiscent of the ol time songs.
The song is faithful son, written by Frank Turner. This is an "unplugged" version by Patty Griffin.
Thanks, I thought it sounded like her but wasn't sure. I shared some of your video's on facebook and everyone likes them.
I cannot say enough for these wonderful videos. Great selections of music
in all of them
Thanks William. Finding the rightmusic is sometimes the hardest part.
Do you think some of these places would have a problem with someone metal detecting on them?
Can someone tell me who is singing this and maybe the song title?
As always very awesome thanks so much for posting .
Thanks Joe!
I love your videos. Are any of these old ghost towns or abandoned places able to be visited?
