Thanks for showing it.. The game is internal locked to 30 the render runs at 60fps.. People seem to be confused.. Long term project since 2003 thanks for reviewing and taking the time to look at it..
Is there a reason why the "Mission Start/Complete" voices weren't included in the arranged music version? Will they eventually be added? Great work on making this!
@@Hansuke14 For one neogeo cd never had them. It was an idea i had to make this work glad people like it . I was not sure if this was even wanted at the time.

@@IanMicheal Wow. That's awesome but can one cd rom hold on that info? I know the later Metal Slugs had a lot going on in size. 700mbs is eh unless you split it into 2 discs.
One thing not alot of people talk about when it comes to those old Neo Geo arcade units was the fact they had ear phone ports. I can't tell you how much I loved that. Some arcades are so loud that you can hear a game 2 rows down better then the one youre on. So i always would hook up my ear phones when I would play on them just to shut out all the other games and actually be able to hear what I am playing.
Really cool. However no matter how many different ways I play Neo Geo games on other consoles new or old, I always find the best way to play Neo Geo games is on a Neo Geo with that glorious arcade stick controller and 240p scanlines and absolutely zero animation cuts or load times.
I heard about Metal Slug as a teen , but it never really caught my full attention, kids right lol. It wasn't until I was 28 when I really started to appreciate this game fully for it's gameplay, visuals and soundtrack, it's impeccable. I think my favorite is Metal Slug 3 and I'm excited to see the team come back to release a new title Black finger Jet, it's a great time to be a retro game enthusiast like myself!!
I'm confused. Are you saying the original NGCD system and AES/MVS versions ran at only 30fps? This appears the same to me (59.97Hz). Does this version also run at 24Mhz overclocking, to remove the slowdown? Always nice to see more ways to play.
Such an awesome game. A few years ago my nephew and niece came over and seen my red cabinet and they immediately asked if that Neo Geo cab had Metal Slug. They played for a while and were so happy once they flipped game and didn’t even spend a quarter 😊.
Yea been closed down for years. Used to goto the arcade and court jester in that mall. Place kinda sucked, but in Redlands.. you dealt with whatya had lol
Is Round Table Pizza still around these days? I used to live in Nevada back in the med 90’s and I remember getting Round Table Pizza a lot. Just wondering if their still around is all?
Was this same mall in San Bernardino California?? ... Because if so I remember it as well .. . So Xbox store have most of all the metal slugs and I have brought every last one of them. . 1 of my favorites all time ...

Oh ya. I remember the game from when I was a kid but didn't know it was called Metal Slug until later in life, lol. I always wanted to talk about it at school and told the other kids, "It's the game where you save the guy, and he takes his underwear and gives you an item..." Too bad I am no longer in possession of a Dreamcast so that I can check it out
I usually play the Collection on the Wii and PSP, Dolphin for bumping up graphics not that it really needs much but the collection seems to have dealt with some of the slow down/lag from the originals. I really noticed the difference with that it after getting the releases on the Switch.
wish theres another metal slug anthology for switch physical and sega beat em collection of dynamite deka series, spikeout series, zombie revenge and slashout...
The sound effects don’t sound arcade accurate but I am not very familiar with the neo geo cd version. Also there is some kind of interpolation when scrolling so I assume it is due to trying to mask the shimmering likely due to potential resolution/aspect ratio differences when porting the game to the cd version. The best feature is the combat school and being able to unlock the super devil mode version of Marco and you have the metal slug gun.
I still live in southern California moved to hemet over last summer gonna be here about a year already Anywho! the first time I played metal slug was at golf n stuff in bell gardens loved that game unfortunately don’t own it sucks
Me and the wife were having a Metal Slug marathon one night and the sound is so good , there was a SHOOTING right next door and we did not hear it! My wife hasnt played MS since .

And a few toys from this French show called “Oggy and the cockroaches!” You made a great video! I too love metal slug! (I think I like X the most!)
The first Metal Slug game I played was MS2, in 1997 IIRC, but the first MS game I bought, was MS3 for the AES, in 2000. I actually ended up buying 3 copies. The first was from BuyRite1. The Japanese copy. Then I heard NeoFreak was releasing an official English release, but that turned out to be a complete 💩show! :( I didn't know they were going to destroy the original copy, and include photocopied inserts and manuals with their NGF initials stamped, in black ink, all through it!.. I was bummed out, as were most who bought it from them. Then I heard SNK was suing their company, and giving the rights to Shawn, at the NeoGeo website, to produce 500 copies of the SNK created official USA version. So I quickly got on the pre-order list, and sold the first two copies off.. It was "only" $250 at the time (now selling for much more of course). I nearly didn't buy it, but I'm glad I did. I loved playing it on the AES back then.
Running that on a machine only ten years latter back then was a lot. You need a cpu at least 10x he amount of instructions and 10x speed 12mhz needs at least 120.
Is that the one that runs on PS2 (emulated to PS4/PS5). Just be prepared for some input latency. It's worse on MS1 - MSX, but a bit better on the rest.
Yeah I think it is. I already own the PS2 version which I got back in the day . I also have some of them on my switch. I hoping the PS4 version will get a boost of power on my PS5.🙏😁
@@eliv.1033 Same here. I bought it on the PS2 (and Wii, IIRC). I have it digitally on the PS4/PS5. It went on a pretty deep sale so I figured I'd get it. Unfortunately they didn't do anything to fix the inherent latency from the earlier versions, and it's carried over to the PS5. It's still nice to own though., and like I said, MS3-MS6 all run pretty well. Less lag than the first three (MS1, MS2, MSX). You may be able to adjust to the lag on those and do OK. It certainly adds more difficulty! I bought the Metal Slug 3 LRG Vita game, in the big AES style case. I'm a sucker for that game. :) I hope you enjoy your Slug games! Also, I wish they would release the PS4/PS5 version of Metal Slug XX in physical form. It's actually a really nice upgrade over the PSP version. It's upscaled very nicely, and runs great. MS3 didn't get a CD port
One of the most classic games of all time in my opinion, still fun to play through even though I've beaten it a million times
Something is off with some sound effects, kinda like Sega Smash Pack volume 1 .
Yeah, all the sound effects are glitched out. The sound emulation on this port is messed up.

Hope someone does Samurai Shodown 4 next 😅
