  • Despite the last PE "Red Cars" operating in 1961, the Pacific Electric remains an icon of Los Angeles culture, and in many places, remnants of the system can still be found, hiding in plain sight. In this video, we explore a selection of the most well known spots on the system than survive to this day.

Somehow, the silence in this video made it very impactful, and gave me a sense of loss. It really is a shame about Pacific Electric. I think L.A. would have been better off if they maintained that railway infrastructure. In the 1940's, L.A. was a city of the future, now it's a city moored in the past.... how sad 😔
    Great video! Really enjoyed it!

While I try to imagine The Red Car ghosts on those tracks relics, the use of rail transit again had to be replaced for example with more overhead rails.

Cool video, so many good memories chasing the SP/UP local out of Anaheim on that line. La Palma is we’re I lived and this line would run right through my backyard pretty much.

When did they stop running through Bellflower? The best I could find was sometime in the 90s.
