I love tetranadon, i love the set and the feeling how to fight with, it was my favorite monster but if it comes to music and epic? Then Astalos with the lightning attack and the god music
A minor issue with a few of Rise's monsters is that their identities are so heavily tied to their eastern inspirations that it can feel a bit harder to imagine them existing in something like World or Wilds, which feel overall more western in their visual style. Among the roster I feel like Tetranodon is actually hit a bit harder by this than most, mostly because the kappa inspiration feels a lot less subtle than most of the other yokai-inspired monsters.
Yeah thats will be an issue for all rise monsters, but i think the one that had it the worst is magnamalo, Terry the tetranadon have some heavy inspirations of kappas and others, but a normal enviroment can make him look normal, similar of mizutsune situation, heavy asían inspiration but adaptable to more than one place
@@changeling6450 The only way I see it fitting is if G-Rank expansion takes you some more of the eastern place where everything is a more mythological inspired. Or these monsters will simply just continue in whatever the next Nintendo Switch game is for the Nintendo Switch 2 from the mobile capcom development team.
@@changeling6450 I actually think a chunk of them could still exist outside of their original context without really feeling out of place at all, like Almudron, Great Izuchi, and Rakna-Kadaki, since they don't really wear their inspirations directly on their sleeve the way others do.
Ironically I feel like it’s the opposite. I definitely agree that a lot of Rise’s monsters would almost feel out of place in Wilds, but Tetranadon hits me as simple(?) enough to work. Like yeah, the Kappa design isn’t subtle, but that also means he’s just a straight-up turtle in design. That feels a lot more believable in an ecology-focused game than the demon-bear that turns his hands into ice swords or the purple-explosive-tiger-dragon that is hyper-aggressive and eats everything.
Great video! One small correction though, the algae on Tetranadon isn't fur, it is actual algae growing from its shell like a snapping turtle. There is concept art showing it algaeless in fact (it is still partially green underneath)
Tetranodon and the garangolm certainly need to return. I love the armors of both especially the tetranodon helmet and the garangolm chest qnd arm pieces
@@RathalosWatch I actually like him bc of his overall design. He's actually the largest ape monster I've seen next to the Congalala and that one ape monster from Freedom United 2 looks like a white mandrill.
Tetra can only come back AFTER Tetsu and Zammie. Tetsu was teased in Rise, w/ baby Tetsu, and Zammie w/ the Zamites. They are both fun fights, great and unique design for both monsters and armor. Frog sQUAD 4 The Win: Just bring back all 3, plus Chata; I can SMELL the TMNT Crossover... it smells like pizza btw.
He has also some attacks heavily inspired in sumo wrestling (pun 100% intended). His turf war with Azuros even looks like a sumo bout. I would love to see him back, his armor looks awesome.
yep. I am aware, but you are posting this comment on a tetrandon video, which is why I am getting confused. Also, if you check the community tab in this channel, there is a poll going on for Congalala and Yian Kut Kus return.
I personally would love it if he returned in wilds his consept of him digging through gravel filled riverbends for food is interesting. With wilds not having rises auto monster tracker it would be cool to have Tetranadon have a alligator snapping turtle type ambush ability were he sometimes burys himself in a shallow body's of muddy/gravely water and disguises himself as a mossy rock. When a hunter or monster gets to close to Tetranadon he ambushs the target and dose tremendous damage. To be honest wilds could make him so much cooler and it would be nice if they bluffed him to be a mid game monster because it feals wrong to be able to steamroll Tetranadon so easy because he is soposed to be a tanky monster.
Tbh i kinda like him, but its design is a bit too much inspired by folklore. A lot of Rise monsters have this problem. This makes them less realistic and gives them less of a chance to appear in a more realistic game like Wilds. However, if they add Zinogre again (like the leaks suggest), then this shouldn't be a problem. If they love to add the buff steroid thunder wolf, then they can also add the chunky sumo platypus. Tbh the only Rise monster I really dont want back just because of its design is Magnamalo. Its design and abilities are so over the top, it makes Zinogre seem tame. Also the turf wars are just goofy af
The biggest reason why he should return in Wilds is the dire need for amphibians. Tetranadon is a great early/mid-level fight and adapts to very common ecologies.
Honestly I’m bummed that our new amphibian is on the monkey skeleton. That means no Tetsu or Zam until the expansion at the very least. Still holding out hope that the latter will return alongside underwater combat with an expanded moveset.
@@RathalosWatch because they don’t have a current gen amphibian rig yet. In the same way they just set the leviathan skeleton up. We don’t have the tetsu/Zam skeleton yet post Gen 4. They could pull it out of nowhere, of course. It just doesn’t seem likely, especially if the leaks are true.
@@nelsonparsifalcantebury5083 I mean, we don't know that. Maybe they already do have it for Gen 6, and they haven't shown it. But thanks for letting me know. I wasn't aware.

@@JurassicDaikaiju True- but that admittedly wasn’t done very well and it’s not subtle that all the returners were fan favorites If they do bring them back I hope it won’t be as jarring
I always thought Tetra was trying to drown Arzuros, you can even see the water splashing when Arzuros manages to escape, he's basically Waterboarding the bear, well i may be wrong
I love this monster: A sumo wrestling, platypus, turtle boy. It's beautiful. For his turf wars, I like them but wish his with goss harag had the latter use his ice fists, you know those useless things that never doesn't gain new attacks with unlike the swords. Make it an MMA fight between a sumo wrestlers and boxer. Missed opportunity. I generally wish that bear's boxing gloved di more and that he had a third weapon in master rank but I digress.. It's hilarious to me that magnamalo may have the soul farts nonsense in his lore but tetranadon is the first monster with such lore in the game. His shiny drop/account item, that drops when you deflate him, is described as "possibly made of souls" so it kind of makes magnamalo less intimidating and dramatic. I absolutely adore that, when inflated, to turn this monster has to pick up his belly then set it down when he's done turning. There's also the rarely seen water beam that he has, he'll only do this to deflate on his own, if you haven't caused him to deflate by doing enough damage in time. I love how in Kamura tetranadon is what the training dummy is modeled after and there's another one piloted by a cat that they use to train cats. It is a bit soon, maybe bring him back for the next portable game but don't use him as an excuse to leave out tetsucabra again. Either pick tetsu or have both. An inflated turf war with zamtrios would be great. They could also do a turf war with tetranadon fighting zamites that swarm him, trying to bite and deflate him as he tries to shake them off. Zamtrios would win this anyway, without zamite help, since he's more on the level of a rathian.
I think he would be pretty easy to adapt to a main line game. I wasnt the biggest fan of rise but i think itd be a shame if none of the monsters ever came back in some way
