    I used to have a westlake box from go outdoors and this is basically are spiced up version of it. All the components are the exact same, from the feet, legs, draws, hand wheels, locking clips etc this is a westlake box.

      what ever is in the budget bud. trainers are same other brands just as good as nike etc for cheaper. lol I still buy Jordan's though

      I used to have a westlake box and was thinking that exact same - that also weighed a tone.

    Totally agree with you, i'm still looking for a box the way I want it, with this one , where do you put your pole pots nowhere's deep enough, for one, how many rigs do you use in a day ????

    Honest review Ben. So basically for the same money your better off with a matrix box. I sold my old Maver for the XR competition and I wouldn’t go back lol

    Straight up review, definitely agree with you if the aesthetics of the box came with nice finishing touches and a little more thought into the build up of the box it would be a winner, personally I think daiwa have hit the mark in a big way with the tournament 800 In this price range.

    Such a shame for maver really not much going for this box at all in the current market... When I asked them on twitter they said the winder tray can be used as a side tray behind... But that's not enough in my opinion

    Not sure if this is aimed at the casual match or pleasure angler
    No drawers and that drip tray is wasted, or does it come out to turn into a sidetray?
    That footplate looks like it will be slippy when wet

    Good honest review. In terms of build quality, finish and design it looks like something from about 10 years ago, and if it does weigh over 20kg then Maver have missed the mark. The only feature I did like was the sliding tray underneath that would make a useful back tray for putting stuff on.

    Them stacks must be the reason it's so heavy that's a lot of stacks for causal pleasure angler nice box though

    The preston inception station all day long 400 quid or around that lighter than most, deep draws, what's not to like about it ,got to be the best around .......what do you think?

  • @peterthornton8520
    @peterthornton8520 3 года назад +1

    As you said it does not compare to the Matrix Pro 36. Set of front deep draws or a sliding side Deep draw would be better.
    Price range in my opinion would be approx £450 -£475. Ok box but wrong price point.

    I feel like it was very biased because you have a matrix xr36 personally I feel the maver is a better box than the matrix for £100 less every one else who reviews the matrix box says its disappointing for the price

    • @Angling4U
      @Angling4U  3 года назад

      That's the joy of opinions Marc. Unfortunately in this case properly 99% of people would disagree with that comment. My opinion is not Biased towards Matrix. Yes I own one but regularly push people to other brands all have pros & cons. If the Maver works for you that's great but I stand by my comments.

      @@Angling4U everyone are entitled to there opinions and your reviews are usually spot on. I just think this time you only compared the maver box to the matrix and theres loads of other boxes In that price range map daiwa preston. I actually own a rive box not the maver but there are a lot of maver bashers out there for the wrong reasons

    What a terrible box Ben the welding is a joke it looks cheap n tatty also to many rig draws instead of having a descent Tackle draw. Sorry to be so negative but it ain't a good box.
