Louis Vuitton REMOVED Our YouTube Videos?! || The Controversial Reason Why

- In this video, I'm joined by content creators Jen and Alyssa for an unfiltered conversation about why RUclips is TAKING DOWN our videos for alleged "counterfeit violations." Why are designer brands targeting content creators for sharing their own purchases? And what can we do about it to protect our own content? These are just some of the questions we'll tackle in this video.

Regarding my appeal… I have still had NO response from RUclips, 15 days after submitting the appeal. I reached out to creator support via chat and they will not provide any update or info about my appeal. I really have no idea how long it will take to receive a decision. 😕
Don't give up hope on your appeal. I appealed two times and for some reason they let me have my channel back on the second appeal. I just use my channel to watch RUclips not as a creator. I think someone didn't like my view point and reported me. I could still use my old chanel though. I like my new channel though because I log into this email and not my old one.
WOW! That’s so wild that you haven’t heard back still. I’m sorry!
@@LulaWestLuxe i've had an LV video taken down as well, getting nowhere with RUclips appeal
@@LulaWestLuxe hey! Similar thing, same time of "claim" / "violation" happened to me for my best performing video at the time and it took 9 months for my video to get re-instated. I literally did NOT hear anything back after 9 months after submitting my appeal!! After 9 months I got a sudden email saying they have changed their decision and put my video back up. Needless to say the video was dead after that and the topic was no longer relevant so I decided not to bother deleting the old one and re-uploading. I'm over on IG under the same handle if you want to chat :)
I’m really disappointed to hear that. You’ve placed countless videos on LV that were very helpful. I appreciate all your hard work. 🤎🤍
It seems like the brands are trying to put the toothpaste back in the tube. What I mean by this is that some years back the big fashion houses were all about hiring influencers and content creators to promote their brands. Then they realized that social media is a great equalizer and "regular" people could get a say too. This has bothered the luxury houses because they want to be the ones who control every aspect and mention of the brand. Sadly, they don't realize that this is now completely beyond their control. The platforms need the content creators as much as the creators need them. If LV takes down every video that references them people will quickly stop being interested in them. If it could be proven that they are behind this purge of videos it would make for a novel class action lawsuit.
You make a great point!💯
This is all so crazy!!! Hope you and Alyssa get some answers about what really went down...
Thanks Jen! I appreciate you coordinating and hosting our chat! ❤️
I watched your video, Lula. I will say that I used to work for Coach 20 years ago, and they were very protective about all the ways they authenticate their bags… when those secrets get out (what the stitching looks like up close, thickness of straps, etc) it helps knock-off companies make better fakes. Not what anybody wants, and obviously not your intention… but maybe?
That makes a lot of sense
That’s a great point! In this instance, I was pointing out obvious/visible updates, but I could see that being an issue especially for videos that show fake vs real bags and how to tell the difference. Thanks for mentioning this! ❤️
Hi Lula! Love your channel. So sorry about your video being removed. I remember watching it, it was very interesting. In your video did you mention the speedy 25 bandouliere? If so, do you know the changes that were going to be done to it? Thank you.
Thanks so much! I’m so sad that video was removed. I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it. ❤️ The Speedy has a slightly larger interior pocket, “LV” stamped on the zipper stop, and more structured/reinforced sides.
Thank you so much for details. I recently saw the new version in person and noticed also that all the hardware matched. I asked the SA about the changes but he didn't know. Thats why I thought about asking you. Thank you this helps!
A lot of ppl who shared videos talking about the negative things about their LV bags got removed for 'violations'.
That’s a great point - and I can totally see a company having issues with negative commentary. Interestingly, both mine and Alyssa’s videos were very positive and the comments were positive as well! It’s a strange situation.
Hi Lula, I love your videos and so sad to hear that your video was taken down. I remember watching that video and was so happy about the improvements that LV was making as it seemed they were finally listening to customer feedback.
They should definitely give you all a detailed reasons as to why your videos had been taken down so that you are will not repeat the same mistakes in future videos and are able to defend your claims better.
Possible reasons:
1 the bots commenting and recommending fake bags
2. In that particular video of yours, you mentioned specific changes like LV engraved into the ends of the zippers (if memory serves?) , and maybe LV feels that it's helping counterfeiters to change their manufacturing of fakes to mimic the new changes.
3. As Alyssa mentioned the # of LV.
I love your videos about upcoming LV releases and hope that you will be allowed to continue making them. LV is lucky to have you making videos promoting them as far as I'm concerned!
Those are all definite possibilities! I really wish that RUclips would provide more transparency - not only do they owe it to creators, but viewers as well. I always appreciate you watching and your support of my channel. ❤️
Love your videos Lula.❤ What happened to freedom of speech, unless someone is saying derogatory and untrue things about a brand people should be able to voice their opinions. 🤷🏻♀️.
Yeah, this stuff seems so full of micro aggression and passive aggressive attitude from both RUclips and LV
Thank you!! I agree
I can't imagine why this happened? The only thing I can think of is Lula: does it have anything with you "leaking" bags ahead of release date? and Alyssa: even though it's an LV, by you purchasing from Real Real or a re-seller you are promoting them and not purchasing from LV directly (especially after the problems re-sellers have been having? I know a lot of people do it but is all I can think of.
There are a few content creators that discuss new products coming out ahead of release dates for Louis Vuitton. I don’t recall seeing any of them mentioning their content being taken down because they are doing the same thing Lula West is doing.
(We appreciate all of the information Lulu West)
I think you’re right that it’s likely a variety of reasons. Of all the affected videos (more in addition to mine and Alyssa’s) the videos have all been on various topics, and there doesn’t seem to be a common thread other than LV.
@@LulaWestLuxe I'm sorry this happened. I really enjoyed your video.
@@idaranwa4370thank you, I appreciate it! And yes, to your point there are other creators sharing new releases - there have been many in the past and there will be many in the future. In the past there were certain “unspoken rules” for previewing new releases that if you followed as a creator, LV would not interfere. However, times are changing. (Interestingly, in the video I had taken down, the items I showed were already released!)
This is truly ridiculous! Content Creators, especially small creators have no voice because RUclips is backing these brands because at the end of the day, money speaks which give these brands power over creators. RUclips needs to do better, at least explain why, they are all so corrupt. I'm sorry this happened to you guys.
Thank you!!! I appreciate your support! ❤️Unfortunately that’s the sad truth… money talks.
It‘s great you put that much reasearch and effort in your appeal Lula, but unfortunately I don’t think there’s even a human going through it 😕. But keep us updated on it, fingers crossed it will be resolved 🤞
Thanks Mary! I appreciate your kind words. 🥰 I agree with you - I’m sure humans don’t read 99% of the claims and appeals that are submitted. In the end, YT can take down our videos, but they can’t take away our friendships and the impact we’ve made! ❤️💪
From what i understand, this is a bit strange. Maybe i don't understand the entire situation, but from knowing your content, its uncalled for.
Thanks! I appreciate your support. ❤ I always try to be very careful with my content, so I was shocked to see this violation!
What Jen said at 17:45 yes I noticed that as well 🧐!!✌️
They are desperate. They are losing money. It was just a matter of time until they went for the pre-loved market, trust me, that's what this is about. Only LV can authenticate LV? That's where they're going. What a joke.. I quit buying new solely based on their greed. I do not appreciate patronizing companies or corporations who are out to simply gouge me. It makes me feel stupid. I will pay top dollar for quality if the price is right, however the quality is no longer there and the price is way off, thus, smart to look elsewhere.
Those are very valid points and I understand your frustration! I guess it isn’t surprising given Chanel’s win over What Goes Around Comes Around, but IMHO brands are really overstepping when it comes to what paying customers are allowed to do with their own possessions.
@@msk2501 you don’t know what you’re talking about, they recorded revenue of €86.2 billion in 2023, equating to organic growth of 13% with respect to 2022. Q1 of this year they’re up 2% in the US and Europe. Some divisions have risen, some have barely dipped, with the difference being so small that compared to the prior year they’re still technically up.
This is so ridiculous and yet there’s channels dedicated to selling fakes like “ the mad hatter “ and that Australian with the huge fake rock who has all fake bags and sells them, among others. They get reported and nothing happens🙄
Oh I saw the mad hatter channel but as an Aussie im curious who is this Aussie with the huge rock?
Who is the Australian?
It’s sooo frustrating to see imposter accounts, bots and rep promoters all continue despite being reported. 😔
@@HandbagDiva which Australian? I watch a couple Australian RUclipsrs but I don't think they sell fakes.. I've had my suspicions about one though. Is the RUclipsr you're talking about a blonde Australian lady?
Maybe talking about the Real Real was what did it, they’ve sold plenty of fakes.
There’s definitely a huge issue between brands and the resale market at the moment!
My thoughts….Lula, I remember in your video you spoke about finding these improved bags in the preloved space. And the other video that was spoken about, that was purchased from the RR.
I think obviously it was LV who made charges about videos that had a lot of views/ likes.
I would hold up a sign with, for example, Real Real instead of saying the reseller name. Misspell the brand name of the brand.
Yes, there’s a huge rift between brands and the resale market right now and that could certainly be to blame.
Wow this is crazy I’m so sorry that happened to you all! I don’t have a lot of LV videos, but so far I’m good. It’s odd timing with the LV Instagram debacle. There are so many rep bags that don’t get taken down. Hmm I’m sorry this is just wrong. ☹️
I’m so glad to hear you haven’t been affected by this! It definitely seems to affect luxury brand content more vs contemporary. And I totally feel your frustration with the rep accounts!!! It’s so annoying to constantly be spammed by those accounts while our LEGIT content is being removed.
I asked chat gtp if there's a way taking out comments with specific criteria, it is. This could help RUclipsrs save time in removing comments that promote fake bags . Tube buddy, some inbuilt functions in RUclips etc
Hi Luwestlux and Gals guide I am sorry to hear this I hope you get to the bottom of this problem
Thank you! I hope so too. Unfortunately, no update yet…
Such terrible news. So sorry to hear this happened to you! 😮
Thank you! First IG, now YT. 🙁
@@LulaWestLuxe 😞
Hi Lula
This happened to me with my CD book Tote unboxing video 🤷🏻♀️
I’m so sorry to hear this happened to you, too!!! That was a great unboxing video and review - interesting to hear that it happened with Dior for you. Not LV, but still an LVMH brand…🧐 Did you file an appeal?
I did, I'm just waiting 🙄
Oh nooo. I’m glad I watched that video of yours Mari, before it was removed. I didn’t know this happened
The second hand market is bigger than new market. I think they do not like that. The thing that bothers me is the amount of RUclipsrs buying counterfeit and doing videos on them. One of these ladies has purchased at least 25 counterfeit bags at a minimum of $340 each. Add that up and she could afford brand new authentic bag.
But Louis Vuitton are shareholders of vestataire collective or something like that. So LV is getting money from reseller route too.
I appreciate your comment Gail! You’re right that there’s a big divide between brands and resale industry. I see those same videos in my suggestions and it annoys me too!!
Can you reach out to Lois Vuitton direct? Just curious.
Hmm I hadn’t thought of that. It’s possible to reach out, but I’m not sure if anyone would respond/engage from their team.
Seek legal counsel to get a definitive answer and for your protection.
❤❤
so sad your Videos help know what save to get at LV as man most do shows mens Lula
Thank you so much! I was shocked to see that violation. I always appreciate your support!
Another thought would be to add a disclaimer at the beginning of your videos that this your opinion only and for fun and to confirm you do not legally represent the LV brand. That this video is your opinion only. The counterfeit could be you did not clearly state you have zero affiliation with the lv brand. You are not legally contracted with Lv. Anyways, just a thought.
A viewer can make a quick report in three clicks for a variety of problems as a starting point. This is disappointing to know of LV. Your appeal sounds thorough.
Thanks! I agree that this is so disappointing from a brand we’ve supported. 🙁
I hate that happened to you both… but scams do not stop…I seriously doubt that LV put in a claim…I feel like it’s a RUclips scammer who might something against you or you both content… (if scammers can scam cities millions of dollars scammers can ignite a claim to RUclips) Like do they really check EIN numbers?…. It’s hundreds of people that make videos like bougie on a budget etc… I feel like it’s personal from an individual who probably trying to keep your subscribers low or videos in rotation…but I think you should think outside the box of assuming it was LV because a real scammer can impersonate LV rep… because it’s others that create same content…I hope everything works out for you both… but I seriously think it was an individual who implied the complaint.
You make a great point - it’s certainly possible that someone impersonated LV to maliciously submit these claims. That said, I know that LV has submitted claims to have posts removed from Instagram (confirmed by IG reps that the claims originated from LV), so it wouldn’t surprise me if they did it on YT too!
