    Please note: If your image does not have an astrometric solution, SPCC won't work. You can go to Scripts/Image Analysis/ImageSolver and search for your object and then click ok to apply an astrometric solution to your image.

      Shouldnt NINA add an astrometric solution to the FITS file if it's solved by ASTAP?

      @@Fat-totoro-cat I'm wondering the same thing. I used NINA instead of my ASIAIR Pro, and Pixinsight keeps saying "No atrometric solution" when I attempt to run this.

      When using DBE, prior to SPCC, make sure you choose "Replace Target Image" to preserve astrometric information. If you don't, the processed image does not preserve this information.

    As a point of information, storing the Gaia data in the PixInsight folder in C:\Program Files causes it to be deleted if you upgrade PixInsight. You may want to store the Gaia data elsewhere!

    Hi Shawn thanks for short and sweet video. You need to add that the ImageSolver script needs to be run first otherwise SPCC or PCC will now fail. Additionally it would be nice to know how to set up the filter choices for an OSC

      Thanks watching Capt! Note... Your image needs to have an astrometric solution before SPCC will work. It may have it if this was checked off in WBPP. But if you have cropped the image at all, then ImageSolver in Pix needs to run on the image to re-apply the astrometric solution.

    This is cool but I miss the old photometric calibration where one loads the focal length, pixel size, time, and then search for an object such as M31. The new SPCC doesn't work for me. Has the old PCC been retired? Love your videos. You're one of the few guys that doesn't compress 10 minutes of info into a 20 minute video.

As a request for teaching people and being clear, you often say "Check OFF background ....." when in fact you want people to select that particular option even though you say "Off". • @VisibledarkAstro
      @VisibledarkAstro  Год назад +1

      It's a good question. For OSC on its own you can select ideal curve and then use a uv/ir filter choice from the drop down. The problem I am seeing is not all the filters are shown. I'm looking into this more. Hopefully I will find an answer.

    • @VisibledarkAstro

      The Lpro is in the filter management but does not show in the drop down menus. I am looking into this further. But for OSC on its own you can select ideal curve and then use a uv/ir filter choice from the drop down.

    What if I didn't use a filter? what choice should I make for red, green and blue considering that there are no "no filter" option available?

    • @VisibledarkAstro
      @VisibledarkAstro  Год назад

      If you are using OSC, there is most likely a uv/ir cut involved. So in SPCC you would want to select Ideal QE Curve and then the Sony uv/ir filter in the RGB for OSC. Cheers.
