Just can't help thinking that only those who were little kids in this film will still be alive and even they will now be elderly. S-A-D. I was 8/9 in 1967. I can remember our holiday to Bognor that year.
That's my Father driving the cool car at 3:10! And the footage of the baby and the women were my Grandmother, Cousin and my Aunt... Wow!! Where did you get this footage?!?
Hi Louise, so your dad is Rodney Beale. His friend Rodney Waite is in the passenger seat. The footage was taken at the junction of Turkey road and Ninfield Rd. and was taken by Ron Beale, Sidley window cleaner. The second half of the film is taken at Bentley Wildfowl near Halland. The panning around at the end was taken out of Ron's flat window at the end of Preston Rd. You can see his window cleaning ladders on top of his car, and of course the famous 17 arches at Crowhurst. Glad you found the video. X
Hi Bill, My Grandfather is Ron Beale and my dad and Rodney Waite were best friends. Love seeing this film just curious to see how you came across it. My children have watched this and cannot believe how cool their grandad looked!
Louise Smith My first wife lived in London Rd. Bexhill next door to Ron & Doris Beale, when I got married Ron took my wedding video, although it was on Cine film then hence the poor quality. When I had it transfered to video it also had all the other footage too. Later Ron lived in the flat above my mum in Preston Rd. Bexhill.
Bill, I am in Florida and I am so glad we came across this video. My kids are amazed. I have shared the video with my Dad and will now be able to tell him where it came from. Crazy to think that my Grandad was also filming your wedding! I remember the view from their window, although when I knew it there was a slide, and sew saw!!! Best wishes.
