Mr. Larson. You’re videos are wonderful l, and such great information. Was wondering if you would be able to do one on most common causes of sticking keys or causes and solutions to ringing grand dampers.
WOW!! Learned a TON!!! As a jazz composer, ( I’m a perfectionist… lol Good to see such beautiful craftsmanship at work!!!!!!!!!! I’m gonna order the strings for my old, weathered, cherry wood 1946 Baldwin Spinet. Hopefully, if I specify my need for a E flat / E string; (7th octave)…. they’ll have those pre- micrometered for me?? Never knew the minutia of string “ settling “ would incorporate 50 to 100 cents difference! Probably won’t order the ( becket maker; ) as I hope to replace strings ONCE in my life… lol I have tuned only once ( last year ) The tone was substantially improved….. but something was lacking…. that sweet spot, …. warmth I crave …for the soft ballads I write…… are as important as the chords I choose….. Of course….. my old Baldwin is not a Steinway!!!…. lol….( I’m saving up for one……used, white… baby grand !!!!!) OH GOD…. The clarity, the warmth… excuse me while I drool….lol ) I’m self taught; not a virtuoso.. but my strength is writing and arranging melodies……and lyrics a.e. Rodgers & Hart’s “My Romance”. or Harold Arlen & Yip Harburg’s “Over the Rainbow”) This attention to detail lyrically and melodically speaking………has faded from mainstream, however, I feel it’s beauty will once again find its place again soon. If all goes well…. My debut jazz ballad album will appear around Christmas?….. fingers crossed! Thanks for letting me audit your lecture sir….. you’re a patient, thorough, humorous, and consummate expert … with a inborn feel for the art of teaching….. rare!! Thank you again for understanding how important music is… and keeping this mysterious art form alive and well through your eager minded students,……… for us artist… and indeed….. all of us occupants of planet earth!! Blessings Maestro! 🕯 🎼RAIN RAIN 🎼

Showing that becket tensioning skiddly-doo should be really helpful when I change my first piano string. I have to replace a high note like yours.
Wow I can hear you - this was amazing thanks for posting!
Excellent!
Excelent content! Thank you for making this available to mere mortals like me!
Thanks Maestro 😊

Driving those pins without supporting the pin block is very risky
Hard to see the actual work with the camera angles trying to shoot through the hand, and camera movement needs to be much steadier.
6:35, Where can I find a coil setter? I recently acquired a tool I thought as the same thing, but not. Thank you in advance!
Why not use a coil lifter as a screwdriver has the potential to scratch the pin, plate or even damage the wire itself?
Excelent!!! 👍🏾🇧🇷
Oh my goodness, hitting an unsupported grand frame tuning pin is just asking for trouble, use a frame Jack
keep the beckets equal
Excellent training. Far too much wobbly camera movement. Voice is better than Howard Industries.
Для замены струны достаточно возвратить вирбель на 1/2 оборота, каждое, лишнее движение вирбеля травмирует древесину. Вам нужно самому еще учиться
You ought to know that you shouldn't touch piano wire with bare hands.
Replace camera man
