    Hey, Springfield resident here! So glad I was able to find a video like this to be able to check out what my city would look like in Flight Sim and wow. Thank you for this man. I used to have the first Oculus headset but wasn't anywhere as good as the newer models. I'd trade a foot for that setup there lol. VR is so fun to relax and get lost in.
    I'll be sure to sub and check your other stuff out, it's great to find a 417 youtuber!

    Just bought the game after watching this video. The level of detail in this game is insane! I saw Kum N Go on National & Chestnut, the Lamplighter Inn and CVS Pharmacy on Sunshine & Glenstone, and so much more. You crashed into Firestone! LOL I can't wait to fly over Battlefield and Kansas and over my house, then down to Nixa and then Republic and Aurora. Thank you for making this video!

      Awesome... So glad you enjoyed the video and I'm sure you will love this simulator! I've actually flown to all the places you mentioned and they are all really there in the game... I never thought I'd see a flight sim that's this detailed let alone get to play it in a VR headset and a motion simulator... We are truly living in the future! []-)

    I don't think I've ever seen my home town in a video game. Very cool

    Crazy! Had no idea this setup existed. Cool taking a tour of my hometown SGF on flight sim. Been playing FSX 2006 for years now and will definitely pickup a more capable computer/laptop for FS2020 ASAP.

    Hi ! Nice Video. I have a question : i noticed that when you turn left the Yaw is turning (yaw) in the opposite way ... ex at 3 :36 . Is it disturbing ? I thought it would be more logical that it turns in the same way. Thanks in advance.

      This is done to simulate g-forces and you do not notice it inside the headset.

    Where does the reverb g2 fall as far as visual fidelity? I think that will be my best bang for buck since I do a lot of flight sims. Thoughts?

    • @vrgamerdude
      @vrgamerdude  3 года назад +1

      It is top notch IMHO and is even better than the Pimax 8KX. I still like the Pimax for sim gaming though due to the increased FOV and if used with a motion sim the fact that it has working motion compensation built into the Pitool SW. If for just straight flight simming though with no motion then yes.. by all means the G2 would be an AMAZING headset! []-)

    where have better colors , on reverb g2 or pimax 8kx (with pimax app) . What do u think also about sweet spots on them?

    • @vrgamerdude
      @vrgamerdude  3 года назад +1

      G2 has better colors and screen sharpness but 8KX has much more WOW factor with the wider FOV! Sweet spot is fine in the G2 with thinner padding applied and is almost about the same as 8KX.

    Hi Don! great setup. I'm looking to add motion to my setup are you happy with the Yaw VR? I'm looking at it and the DOF H3. For VR I have the HP Reverb, hot computer and like you MS2020 blows my mind! I'm also a GA pilot and it still blows me away. Was the setup hard with Yaw VR? really appreciate the help

      Hey sorry for the late reply but yes I love my Yaw VR and think that motion is for sure the best presence enhancer ever! I wanted to try the DOF simulators but unfortunately we couldn't reach an agreement to get on shipped out to the studio for a review. As for the setup as long as you are a technically minded person you should be fine.... It is not fully plug n play!

    Don! Dude! That Yaw is awesome! Is the Pimax now your go-to headset?

    • @vrgamerdude
      @vrgamerdude  3 года назад +2

      Hey man.. great to hear from ya. For simulator gaming the Pimax 8KX is for sure my preferred headset! The wider FOV and the fact that Pimax has working motion compensation built in makes it the #1 go to for me for this style of gaming... For everything else right now I prefer my HP Reverb g2 paired with a set of Valve Index controllers. The image in the G2 is freaking AMAZING it's just not great for motion sims! []-)

    I have a YawVR seat and MS Flight Simulator. I see in your video that the seat is moving around and appears that motion compensation is working. For me it is not. I have a Oculus Rift S. and I included the OpenVR add-in from the YawVR game engine. But id does not work. Yaw movement are way off and after 10 seconds my point of view is no longer out the front of the cockpit. Can you explain - step by step how you configured MS Flight Simulator to work correctly wrt motion compensation?
    Hey do you know Homer?

    • @vrgamerdude
      @vrgamerdude  3 года назад

      The MC is working well because I am using a Pimax HMD and they have built in MC into the Pitool software that is used to manage the headset. I have tried all the other solutions with my other headsets and nothing has worked for me!!!! The Pimax solution lacks some vibration filtering but is ROCK SOLID when it comes to Yaw translation and keeping my viewpoint locked. I am finding that for motion sim gaming Pimax is for sure the way to go! Oh and as for Homer.. Wrong Springfield...LOL [;]-)

      @@vrgamerdude - ok I am using Oculus - and appears to be limited based on what I've read and what people have ben saying -- YAW states that they have a custom tracker to use with OpenVR - but does not appear to work in Flight Simulator -- I've read that Flight Simulator uses OpenXR - but I'm not that familiar with the VR APIs and how they are integrated

    Hi, cool! Can you please share what settings you did under the hood to get to the point of having a sweet spot with the 8KX? I’m struggling with it.

    • @vrgamerdude
      @vrgamerdude  3 года назад +1

      I run it at 1.0 image quality with normal FOV in Pitool and .75 SS is Steam VR... I do use PP on in Pitool as well as smart smoothing. As for the game I run it at high end with a few things dialed back. No matter what I tried I was not hitting 75 fps and the game was still running really bad. What I did was just switch it to the upscale mode in my 8KX and all was fine after than.. took a hit on the sharpness obviously but it still look's great and now runs well on my rig!

    In this video the motion seat appears to yaw right when you are turning left in the sim and vice versa. Is that due to the camera?

    • @vrgamerdude

      I think it is to simulate G-forces

      Well you can:
      Yaw VR Pro = $2000
      Pimax 8Kx = $1400
      PC to Run it = $1800
      The feeling of actually flying while sitting in your own home - Priceless! [;]-)
