Do you have to burnish in between, I went to stage 2 but I did scrub with tooth brush and rinse thoroughly before but didn’t use borax, I since now after work today got some borax , thus I will use from here on out!
If you are staying in the same stage, you don’t have to! But moving from one stage to a new stage, always! And I always scrub with a toothbrush as well when moving one stage to a new stage ☺️ you don’t want grit or polish from the previous stage to contaminate your new stage in any way!

You should be okay this time since you cleaned the rocks, but remember burnishing is not just for the rocks, it’s for the barrel too!
