I've been in and around Cooly Airport (OOL) for the best part of the last 40+ years...the changes I've seen...the characters I've known of.... As a local you know the Airport as Coolangatta (OOL) or 'Cooly'...."Gold Coast Airport" is just a recent construct....
In or about 1976, I spilt a Hot Chocolate on a Lady wearing a blue dress with white polka dots...I was wearing a little sailers suit (or maybe not)??....and this was in the original terminal....just north east of the current one...it's cargo termainl now......my memories association with this airport run very deep indeed!! :)

Flying from gold coast to Sydney can't believe how lucky this guy is seems like a life time ago not about 2 & a half years ago
