  • Back in the olden days, all photography was black and white. For a long while, there was a good mix of colour and black and white photography whilst the use of colour developed. In this day and age, it’s predominantly a colour photography world, with the odd black and white photo thrown in for arty purposes.
If you are reading this, that means you are one of the arty few who want to rediscover the beauty of black and white photography - let’s delve in!

Black and white adds such depth to the photos. I will definitely incorporate more of this into my photography.

Great video! Thanks for reminding us about B&W/Monochrome. I forgot how much I love B&W photos as the "distraction" of color sometimes obscures the content.

I liked the one photographing the person taking a picture with their camera phone. That tells a nice story.

Love them, Marc. The noise (grain) make them. I wonder what the pixel peepers would think 😄

Very good and inspiring video, even though I take pictures in black and white very often. I also use a Olympus camera, the Pen-F. This camera is great in monochrome photography. Your photos are so creative. Very nice. I wish I could visit this fine museum one day. Thanks!

You should try a Leica monochrome (e.g. the Q mono, you will love it)

Great video. Too many are quick to dismiss a b&w. I love a b & w photo; I've even used it on sunset shots. I now look at a frame before I shoot & think 'that's a black & white shot'.

I am looking at your online courses. Does it matter what brand of camera I am using in the courses offered. I recently purchased a Fujifilm X-T3 and a Viltrox 33 mm lens. I really would like to learn how to use what I have with at least some profiency. Thank you!

Hi Kim, it doesn't matter what brand you have just make sure it has manual settings like said in the video

This is my exact set up for a variety of photography. I usually add a very high quality Polariser for landscape work. One thing that I do is to set ' Slot 1' to capture RAW and ' Slot 2 ' to capture a Monochrome jpeg, usually with the Super Fine setting. Great photography. I lked it very much. Thank you.

I have just noticed of late that my Lumix camera has some good-looking black and white filters built into the scenes so from tomorrow I'm going black and white with a touch of grain as I like it.
