How can this be on a recommended level of 8? I'm at level 15 and I can barely scratch it. I swear the difficulty levels in this game are completely screwed up.
I found and easier way. There is one triangular shaped spot on the ground that you can hide in which is up against the back wall. First kill the two watchers so you can look for it. When you find it scan the boss for it's weakness and equip yourself with the weapon and also with the shocker rope cast. And set the all up. Then go up and override the system and hurry up and in that box. While your hiding, none of the machines can see you. You can just pick them off and they won't know where the shots came from.

Boss saw me here while shooting and jump over me, but this position itself is so supportive as it cornered boss and and watcher on boat. I was attacking with spear and in a minute all 3 were gone... Couldn't believe I beat dem without any traps and in first attempt.

I just completed it on medium (after a few bad fails) quite easily in the end by placing loads of trip wires around the fight zone before climbing the tower to override the shield. Then just taking everything out whilst they were constantly tripping over. Using the longshot bow against sigma on all its vulnerable bits. As long as you have enough stuff to replenish your trip wire ammo several times.
I played medium and finished him on my second run. There is a much much easier way but takes a bit to set up. Pick a corner) there should be a corner where there is a small triangle like divot that you can position yourself in. Set up probably 6 tripcaster lines from one side to the next. Make him follow you and each time he trips on one you should critical hit him using R1. Them move back into the corner line by line until eventually he dies
I was struggling with this guy today and watching you made me realize I was doing a few things wrong. Beat him on my first try right after that. Thank you. :)
Use your sharpshot bow on the fire bellowback's green sacs to blow them up. Don't be nearby though as it's a big explosion. Blowing up both will reduce it's life by 50-60%. The Rho cauldron has a snapmaw as the main boss and a ravager as backup. Take out that ravager first. If you can knock its cannon off that'll make the battle easier as you can use the cannon against it or the snapmaw. It has limited ammo though. Use blast wires and fire wires around the perimeter before overriding the lift.
Normal mode- all i had to do was alternate between shock trip and freeze balls. It hardly moved maybe 4 or 5 times. Then when i was running to relocate i dropped blaze traps for those pesky watchers. Done and done.
Wait, does this mean that you were playing on (easy)? I'm playing on hard, and this boss as killed me like 20 times. I thought that watching you play I would see something that would make it easier, but even watching you, this guy takes a lot of work. Also frustating where the restart point is. Have to redo all my traps every time. aaaarrrrghhhhhh!!!!!!
i complete it in level 10 , i put fire traps and other traps around the shield and also traps on the outside of the shield all around the place , i also modify my bow ,with tears and damage customise ,while i was running i was using fire arrows, the most damage the boss had was from the traps i barely use my bow, but i did it, but level 11 my guy was nice too
Just cleared it on very hard. I'm too hold to be jumping around trick shotting. So I put a proximity blast trap in front of every door and then put 3 trip wires around the circle. At each trip wire I put a proximity blast trap and 3 of the balloon traps. Jumped off the platform after triggering it, dragged boss into first trip wire, big explosion, and while he was stunned I stabbed him a few times, ran to 2nd trap, he missed the trip wire somehow but hit the bombs. 3rd trap got him and I jumped in stabbed him a few times and he died. None of the watchers made it in, door traps got them.
what i did was, 1st is i killed the two small ones and then after that 2nd i am placing 1 explosive and 1 firebomb on the entrance of the small robots cause i know even if i kill the two robots near the big one, there are about 6 robots which will come out on the door so therefrore i am placing explosive and firebombs and i added 2 extra electric ropes which block the robots incase they will not die from the explosions and it will slow then down. so in short, i am putting explosives and electric ropes on 3 doors cause the robots will come out on that door. 3rd i am placing my remaining bombs and explosives in front of the triangular shape box because i know after i hack the system, the boss will automatically see me, therefore he will go after me and he will ran to the bombs and dead. 4th is the option, if the bombs cant kill the boss, you can go near it because it has taken a lot of damage from the explosives and now he is on the ground and you can hit him, but if you want, you can hit him with frozen bullet first.

This is a level 18 mob, so why the f*ck al level 8 quest leads you to it as a level11-12 ?? This is some LIDL game balance. There are hunting tutorial quests for these mobs, and they are RED quests.
Give up like me and change difficulty to story. As an adult, I don't have time to replay the same senario 100 times, I need to see the story and move on...
Yo this boss fight looked hard so i looked up how to beat it, came across this video, yall in the comments had me scared to do this, i got fully prepared with everything needed, but holy shit it was kind of easy.. just run putting your trip wires down and when he goes does down just R2 or critical hit him. Youll do this like 5 times, i also just put down some electric traps bc its his weakness, those will take him down as well and just R2. Its not that hard

It's not. He is playing in easy mode as opposed to normal or hard. Easy is easy which is why it was so easy in the video. Not sure who plays on easy mode, apparently some do so that they can breeze through the game without any difficulty.
No he is a fire bellowback. The difference is that normal bellowback's breathe fire and ice. But a fire bellowback specialisez in fire attacks. These attacks do more fire damage

Rule # 1 of horizon zero dawn. Always setup the trip wires on anything you can just out right kill. Put them everywhere

I didnt finish the whole video, but i find it amazing what can be done when i actually bother to set up the traps and use a fire resistence potion.

Yeah I was also playing on hard difficulty. If I didn't place traps everywhere I wouldn't have been able to kill it
When you die against the bellowback, where do you restart exactly??

I peppered this thing with probably 100 fire arrows while meleeing when I could. Took forever

This boss is so badly designed and the area is so annoying to fight in. This is just a terrible terrible boss. Not fun in the slightest.
What happens if we complete this?? I am really confused why we are not able to override any machine apart from strider
After you complete Cauldron Sigma, you gain the ability to override Grazers, Lancehorns, Scrappers and Sawtooths.
