- Street drummer Anthony Sheriff bangs out the beats off of the back of his Ford pickup truck while offering spontaneous concerts in neighborhoods throughout the city. In this episode of I WAS THERE, Sheriff explains how his drums became a lifeline, rescuing him from despair and how he hopes they’ll do the same for others.

I saw him in person when I went to Los Angeles California to visit family! I was across the street from where he was playing and it was trees blocking the view and all I heard was loud music and a bunch of show lights and drums playing I thought it was a full concert going on that night and when I got closer to see who it was it was only him in his truck bed on a set of drums and show lights with a big ole TIP Jar! I tipped him $20.00! He was awesome.
