VERY expensive summer. Wrecked cars, lawyer fees, injury settlements, criminal charges, no doubt more fines for that, not to mention what the Chiefs and the NFL will fine him, the suspension will cost him game checks too. And all that before you consider the lost opportunity he had with commercial endorsements.

I doubt these two incidents will end his career. Smacking a photographer is considered mild by NFL standards, probably 2 games there. If there’s some legitimacy to those predraft concerns, then it’s time the chiefs bring him in and have a heart to heart and see if he has any desire to change the people he’s with and the situations he’s in. His money is guaranteed so no point in moving off him just yet.
The front office has done a so so job in the WR room this offseason but seem to think they’ve hit only home runs. We have no depth just a bunch of “potential” type guys. We have 1 young guy to build around, 2 if rice gets it together, and that’s it. With the cap space and draft picks we had; this was poor decision making by Veach.

I don't know if I speak for a majority of fans but I have pretty much written Rice off. Not signing Boyd wasn’t smart. We’re right back here with receiver issues. It’s most unfair to Pat. The most talented QB of all time doesn’t even have ONE 100% reliable receiver. STILL. Hollywood and Worthy haven’t played with him yet although I’m confident we should’ve loaded that position up. This draft was so deep with them and we only drafted one? I really don’t get it. I understand there’s many positions, but we have a million DB’s, yet we got two more? They really don’t care about loading up our offense at all. I understand Mahomes is the goat, but it’s really ridiculous
Veach got 4 new receiving targets this offseason: a FA WR, a FA TE, a 1st round pick, and a 4th round pick. Rice is blowing it, but KC will still be better than last year, barring injury.
Because Pat15, after showing in 2022 he could win the last 3 games including the SB on one leg, showed in 2023 he could win without WRs. So, no need.
Cut now, and move to replace in free agency. It’s not ideal, and I was willing to give the benefit of the doubt the first time, but second chances don’t deserve second chances.

I know he's not necessarily the kind of veteran receiver that Cole is looking for, but I've been very intrigued at the suggestions that the Chiefs make a deal for Treylon Burks. I think if they could get him for a 6th or 7th round pick, he'd definitely be worth a shot

After the car crash incident, I said for weeks Rice should be allowed to show the Chiefs he could be a good citizen. Well, that ship has sailed. I don't even care if he was provoked. He put himself in a situation to be provoked. And just the optics of him being out partying it up with his entourage while his crash victims haven't been made whole is a pretty terrible look, even if there hadn't been an incident like this.
I am amazed that a guy who understands and executes so well the split-second, complex and contested routes of the NFL level passing game, can't walk the simplest, civilized and peaceful routes of everyday life. I just can't get it.
