High winds damage the homestead

  • Went to town for supplies to get ready for the huge drop in temperatures next week. Came back to extreme winds and gusts that blew over the outhouse, ripped the front porch awning off, took down trees, moved the carport, and is now causing excess damage to feed and bedding for the animals. All of this right before they call for it to get down to 2° next week.
It's definitely disheartening to see your hard work and things you are proud of get tossed around while you are helpless.
I am grateful that none of the animals got hurt and my home is still sitting as it should be.

Glad to see there is nothing that cant be replaced or repaired. Loss of life is the one thing that cant be. Carry on and learn from this. Peace and calm winds to you all !

Yes, I'm very grateful that is wasn't any worse. It still creates some problems with this cold weather coming in and the loss of items to keep my group warm and fed. Just gotta do the best we can each day but it is scary for sure. The winds calm for a bit and then start right back up.

@@jessicalmonroe537 Sure hope it passes soon. My ancestor Jacob Kassel (last name changed to Castle by the post office) recorded a terrible storm in that area in the 1700s that involved flooding along the Clinch river. Killed many settlers and live stock.Hope you all stay safe. We will pray this angry weather mellows out soon. Take care !
